Even a 147 isn't going to stay subsonic out of a 16" barrel. And then all that mass is going to take some considerable material to stop. I'm mostly banking on a very light, delicate 9mm to behave somewhat similarly to M193 in building materials, but to date I haven't seen a barrier penetration test using that ammo.

the forward assist was a pointless piece of trash put on a good rifle for the sole reason that military brass didn't want to provide their troops with ammo that would actually stand up to the jungle conditions of Vietnam

there is no conceivable malfunction that a forward assist would clear that wouldn't immediately cause the same or worse malfunctions when firing again

the only use for a FA on a modern rifle shooting modern ammo is to silently run the gun into battery by slowly running the charging handle and then pushing the FA in. but since we're not fucking drooling retards who shoot ourselves by accidentally disengaging the safety, just keep it chambered and on safe and you don't have to worry about the shitty, cancerous, pointless piece of worthless fucking trash that is a forward assist.
