I currently have an 18" PSA nitride. Been wanting to swap it to a Phosphate 20" (already bought the new upper receiver) but I like the way the 18" (the length, not this particular PSA barrel) looks
But it's PSA and Nitride. I dislike both of those things

The only thing I've gotten so far is the upper which I'll eventually use for something, Delta ring and crush washer.

I like the nonstandard A4 look though. And 18" with FSB is hard to find AFAIK, unless you mean the one I currently have which is PSA and is the reason for this whole thing

I can't find any 18" gov profile barrels (plus phosphate) since they usually come in SPR profiles which are too heavy. Even then it's 140 for adco to drill taper pin holes and install their FSB and only 75 to cut and rethread the 20". I think I'll just get the 20" phosphate, see if I like the length and if not then I'll send it to Adco to chop it. That seems to be the cheapest option which ticks all the boxes

there's not really any practical range difference between 16" and 18" and I'd rather have a more accurate barrel when shooting further anyway (not a pencil 18")

Idk man I mostly just like it for the gas system, but the velocity is nice too. There's always muh harmonics and whatnot but that's what free float is for, and InRange at least came to the conclusion that there's nothing showstopping about modern light barrel accuracy.

How are you guys shooting? Do you face the target head on or more sideways stance wise?

5×5 plate at 250 yards
6×6 plate at 350 yards
All hits hit dead center,it was actually pretty impressive. Idk if the wind was working in my favor,but it was cool.

Do medium profile barrels provide enough of a reduction in group walking after sustained fire over pencil to justify the weight increase with modern barrel manufacturing processes?

Is there any reason to get a profile other than pencil?
