Who, in your opinion, makes the best 1911?

Who, in your opinion, makes the best 1911?

Which company?

Which version specifically?

Which production year?

Which 1911 IS the definitive 1911?

The high end 1911 manufacturers want so much I would rather spend the same for an original Colt from ~100 years ago.

Remington Rand

Overall, it's hard to argue against Springfield Armory. Their 1911s seem very well built and not ridiculously priced.

you mean the meme company who pretended to be the legendary Springfield Arsenal to fool idiots

This is Mugen-Tenshin doh-ya.

OP asked what the best 1911 is. If he had asked what the best 1911 is that's readily available for under $1,000, I'd have said Springfield Armory. I've shot them, they're nice. Their $900 and up ones that is.
The thing is Springfield Armory bought the rights to that name, pretended for a while to be the actual Springfield Armory which had long since died off into the history books. Today they act like their 1911's are made in America when in fact I think they're buying the frames and stuff mostly already made over seas and doing just enough to be able to legally call them made in America. Then they got caught up in that carve out for themselves and Rock River Arms over in Illinois where they tried to agree to some gun control in the state if the law had an exception for just them. Overall, their marketing seems kind of dishonest and their track record as a company isn't great.

Their $900+ 1911's are relatively decent though.

Dumbass 1911 question: if I wanted Snake's 1911 from MGS3, how would I find one, and who sells em, if at all. Couldn't find anything on google

Buy a 1911 and get a gunsmith to modify it according to Snake's 1911 (extended safety, slide release, ring hammer, target sights, threaded barrel, groove cut out in the grip for that autistic knifegun combo, polished feed ramps, etc etc)

googled, he just has a normal GI 1911.

most cost effective path is getting this and buying some walnut checkered grips for it

Don't forget what looks like a broken grip safety.

is this a Jow Forums meme? I only see people say this here

That was a common modification done back in the day, they just pinned the grip safety in so it was always off.

>Original GI 1911

>colt 1911

Mag inst right.

still common enough.

Dan Wesson and Wilson Combat. If you want a solid but more affordable 1911 get a Ruger. If you want a beater gun that'll probably work most of the time get a base model RIA.

Look at the poorfag and laugh.

IMO, if there ain’t no pony, it’s a phony

There's no substitute for an original

Attached: bmwujy2.jpg (800x533, 97K)

it's an 8 round mag, it's strictly better.
but if you're autistic about it go buy some GI 7 rounds for 10 bucks

Wilson combat or go home

Never. But that's never stopped retards before.

My friend has a Dan Wesson that he swears by. Ive fired it a few times and can say it's slick and smooth.

Dan Wesson makes great guns. But then again I've owned about a dozen firearms for the last two decades and I'm not some nogun nigger blaming "nics" for the reason why he's a nogun nigger.

The best current 1911 is probably the Dan Wesson Valor.
Definitive is the GI-issue M1911A1 though
