I would like to start an untrasonic cleaning thread. Done some reasearch, and would like to share what I’ve found: simple green and distilled water works well. Don’t US clean the exterior of your suppressors. Always disassemble and use a basket. 60 degrees C is an optimal temp with 45 on the sonic side.
Things I haven’t heard about: how does it work on polymer firearms? Wood grips (that part seems scary to me)? Also, do you lube your suppressor after a cleaning, or leave it dry?
Just trying to get a conversation going here, not looking for vitriol.
pretty much just don't US anything that you're not afraid of accidentally ruining the finish. follow the directions of your US cleaner and any manufacturing notes about it
Angel Walker
Ultrasonic cleaning is for having Hollywood esque teeth. OP you better have your priorities figured out. Guns don't need to be super fucking clean. But you probably have some ratchet fucking hill Billy teeth you should take care of first
Jackson Young
So what if that’s what I want? I know many people here have knowledge. Perhaps not all of us live in a city, and only shoot once a month? Perhaps, there are people that live in deserts, or really moisture filled places, unlike your concrete jungle.
Maybe, there are people that aren’t YOU out there, you fucking mongloid?
Can we keep the /b/ to a minimum here?
Justin Adams
No point in using distilled water in my opinion. You're cleaning crap off gun parts, not prepping surgical instruments for an operation.
Jose Thomas
Yeah, distilled isn't really needed. You're not vaporizing the water or doing anything that's going to cause mineral buildup.
Matthew Cox
Thanks. I live off well water, and just thought it’d be a baseline, instead of a crap shoot.
Liam Price
Does anyone here know about the effect on polymers, or something like an M&P BODY?
Carson Harris
Be careful using Simple Green on anodized alum parts. Can sometimes cause weird discoloration or almost a hazy effect on the parts.
Kevin Fisher
Don't put your fingers in it when it's running and don't use simple green with aluminum parts.
Tit holes in the sand is a really smart idea, surprised I haven't seen this at the beach irl
Colton Bailey
Who is she? Image search misidentifies her as the lead actress
Asher Morgan
Dude, I’ve tried for a long time to find out and found the same results. I guess we’ll never know.

tfw no girl will even smile at you and now i dream that i will someday get to fall asleep next to someone who even vaguely likes me. these images torture me of what i know i will never have.
It’s called a name, dumbass. We know the scene. How about you spoon feed yourself some applesauce?
Charles Walker
I use it to clean brass, a tumbler is out of question in a small appartment and to clean BP revolver parts. I use dish soap. thanks for the 60°C advice, I never used above 45, I'll try that.
Cameron Jones
Nah user is right. Take care of your nigger teeth first then maybe your waifu will love you back.
Carson Scott
As people stated above guns don't need to be that clean. That being said I use an ultra sonic cleaner on my firearms once in awhile when I detail strip them to get all the shit out and it works great. It's also awesome at cleaning cosmoline off parts without a pile of rags and brake cleaner. Anyone saying its not worth it is either a no guns fag or shoots biannually
Lucas Taylor
>It's also awesome at cleaning cosmoline off parts this, I put small gunked parts in a small glass container and I submerge them in WD40.
Ethan Howard
Does WD40 work? I tried it once and never had luck with it. You aren't the first person I have heard use it though
Camden Edwards
work fine for me for the old gunk from soviet states (yuropoor here). I cleaned a mosin, a sedish mauser and some surplus with that. Maybe try acetone or something more aggresive ? It takes time and heat. You can melt the cosmoline by placing your part in the sun or in the oven if you want. Another way to get rid of large parts of that horror.
Austin Clark
How did they know you had bad teeth
James Green
Yeah I typically put the wood stock in a black garbage bag and leave it out in my car when its hott out. The rest gets dumped in the industrial simple green in the sonic cleaner. It cleaned the shit out of my RPG.
