Just get into sport shooting, you'd be surprised by the amount of European countries where you can own firearms. In Belgium we don't have length regulations and owning a surplus rifle converted to semi auto is totally fine. Owning an SBR is as "simple" as owning any other gun.

The CZUB sels almost brand new guns. Build from spareparts or after total refurbishment (new surface treatment, etc.)
Zelený Sport just chose "OK" ones from used gund and then rebuild them to semi auto. The ones in really good condition are mostly picked up quickly. I live 20min nearby from that company.

French politicians have had no problem trampling on every single article of the declaration of the right of the man and of the citizen. Freedom of speech and right to property are supposed to be sacred values, yet it means nothing in modern France.

Any firearm can be confiscated and destroyed without any reason or due legal process, any person can be banned from owning firearms in the same way.

Even if article 10 about weapons had remained in the declaration of rights, politicians would have found a way to fuck it up, such as saying "hurr when the declaration has been written, people only had muzzle loading black powder guns and swords, so that's all you are allowed to have". And technically, we are allowed to get those without any kind of regulation other than being 18.
But even that won't last, after the Euro gun ban is applied at the end of the year, every single firearm will require a license, to be registered and stored in a safe, no exception.
