3rd gen 4x4 Toyota 4runner here. No rear lock differential, but H2 and L1 do just fine besides the normal H4.

Get yourself a 4x4. Nothing as satisfying and commanding an icy road while all the sedans slip and slide.
Do you have standard locking differential plus a rear lock? I want to add a rear lock at some point, just incase I really fuck up off roading.
After overhauling the cooling system, it has not bothered me at all. Its really reliable despite having the 4 cyl engine.
