Hush puppy would be nice.

Didnt they say it will have pitting and will lol work? For over 1k fuck that, go else where.

.460 a good round or just a meme?

Well this thread leaves no room for self-satisfied contribution.

Regale me with tales of why I should pick up a 5906.

Scully. Scully is all reason you need.

Is it alright if I buy a .45 Hi-Point while I save up for a better pistol?

>spending money to save money
haha

I feel that for ~$50 more a Sccy is an option you could keep for a very long time along side nicer pistols as opposed to the Hipoint.

I just turned 18 and I don't really live in a place where it's a good idea to get caught lacking, so I have to get a gun ASAP.

Hey dont knock him. 45 in your body out of a blow back will F your day in the A. We all have to start somewhere.

Completely fair, although my mind defaulted to Mulder. Hopefully they still have it tomorrow morning.

Post it when you get it. Whats the price? Rear sight shrouds? LE marks?

Shrouded rear, other than some very slight wear on the guide rod and barrel from a seemingly low round count it appears to have lived its entire life in a safe or case. The finish is in very good condition. $420 which strikes me as a fair price for the condition.

If you're that poor then get a 9mm, that way you can at least pra-

Post picture of hand.

Living here for so long has caused me to pick up some nigger terms, sorry.

If you can only drop 150-250 then get an SCCY or keltec PF9. They'll do the trick in a pinch and are way easier to carry than a hi point. Then save up for some police surplus gun from a reputable brand like glock, beretta, or sig. IIRC you can get an 92s for like 299 right now. The former choices will always be a workable carry gun and the latter is just a good gun in general that'll probably literally appreciate in value if you take care of it.

Thanks a bunch, man. I appreciate it.

.460 what?
Rowboat is good but I like 9x25 better for the frame size.
.460 S&W/Ruger are big rollyboi calibers that are OK for woods carry.

Anyone know of a good IWB kydex holster for a P30L with a TRL-1? I'm having trouble finding one to accommodate the light.

Because they're great and pretty cheap.

A Hi Point is fine, don't buy a SCCY. SCCY are nicer looking pistols but they're unreliable and finicky, Hi Points work better and have an excellent warranty. They're just extremely ugly and niggrish.

A Kel Tec PF9 or some kind of $200 surplus gun would be better than either tho.

>SCCY
hahaha why the fuck would anyone recommend those pieces of shit. A fucking Hi-Point is far superior in about every area but looks.

Adding onto 's reasons. It's a comfy boat anchor with a nice trigger, top tier looks,

420's a good price for a model with shrouded sights as long as it's in good overall condition. Rounded or squared trigger guard?

in what ways are a hi point better than a sccy?

from my experience they're just as functional with the same no questions warranty, except smaller and lighter weight

reposting question from older thread.

So I'm thinking about getting my first handgun (and gun in general) sometime next month and was wondering if there's any good recommendations sub 500$ My total budget is 1000 but I wanted to get a rifle as well. I'd prefer something I can carry concealed but not extremely compact either. If anybody could give me some advice that would be great.

as a side note I've been looking at the m&p shield but it's a bit too small for my taste.

I want a relatively compact, full metal frame handgun that would carry well in a shoulder holster. I've come up with the CZ 83, CZ 2075, P64, and potentiality a PPK, but that might be cost prohibitive. Am I missing anything obvious and not too old?

M&P 2.0C

Just check out a plain old compact, or one of those almost-sub compacts like a P30sk. A tiny gun isn't that great for anything beyond being really concealable, so if you can afford to get and carry bigger, go for that.
What kind of features are you looking for?

Save up $500 more and buy P229 legion SAO

Seconding

I'm really not knowledgeable to know what's available. I'd just prefer it be 9mm and have a variety of carry options.

Do some homework to see what kinds of features you might like. Go to a gun store and feel them all up to see what's comfortable and sensible to you, and if possible, get some trigger time with them via rentals.
Otherwise, if you want an all-rounder and don't feel like thinking about it, you can be boring and get a Glock or be boring but also better and get an M&Pc 2.0

Anyone? Does anyone know what Timeshares uses? I've seen a holster in pics.

Attached: 1525117700478.jpg (2386x3264, 797K)

Does PSA make good 1911s? I want a poorfag 1911 that still has upgrades on it, and it looks like my options under $600 are Flip, PSA, and Remington.

See No they do not. Get a Colt if you want entry level.

5 shots 10 yards

Attached: 20180511_163147-3024x1701.jpg (3024x1701, 1.1M)

Twofold question, /hgg/. I have an opportunity to buy one of two pistols for about $500, neither of which I need but both I really want. Either an AREX ReX T1, lightly used, bunch of mags, looks ANIB, or a Sig M11-A1 with a nice blue frame, three mags, NIB. I've already got a Jericho and 92FS I switch between for carry, and a PPX SD for tacticool shit, so I don't actually need either, but want both. What should I go for?

Second part, I'm already trying to buy a NOS Springfield P9 because I love CZ75-alikes, but also have a line on a near-new EAA Witness Match, so I'm torn between my CZ clone choices. P9 is around $300-350, Witness Match is under $300 for now. Thoughts?

Sights are off

I heard Colts are overpriced and you pay a rollmark tax considering the quality of them compared to others.
Is there any truth to that?

Sig

Absolutely true. Get a Ruger for an entry level.

Why will nobody on Armslist buy my model 39-2 REEEEEE

high price obv

Rowland? Do you like a light loaded .454cas or a heavy .45lc but in a 15+1 semi? Only downside is comp/can 100% required.

.460smith? Longboi rollyboi round. Tickles the balls of .458wm in a rifle (I have the Katahdin Encore 20" carbine barrel). Pretty goddamn powerful, hope you have some burrs that need shootan.

Somewhat figured, they're a much longer-running company with great reviews compared to the relatively new on the scene AREX, but I'd heard that Sig had started doing more MIM parts, even on their higher-tier guns. Any concern there, or roll with the pretty blue Sig and forget about it?

Notes on the first pair of guns:

ReX comes with 6 20 round mags, has 5" threaded barrel, suppressor sights, and comfy Houge grips.

Sig comes with 3 15 round mags, 4" normal barrel, no rail, and fancy blue frame.

Ruger is great, but if you're dirt poor, you'd be impressed by how nice the ATI FX GI 1911 is. It was my first 1911, and it has served me very well. But, if you can find one, get a Para Expert, or really any of the Para 1911s, they make great guns. Got mine on rebate, came out to the same price as the ATI, and is easily worth double that.

Post pics my dude. What're you pricing it at?

Lag bolt and bondo

As said, Ruger is also good from what I've heard. Avoid PSA though unless you have money to burn and want to play with it.

>Any concern there
None, most pistol makers use MIM parts. If you do't like MIM stop driving your car, flying in a plane etc.

NRA Convention guy here. My booth was near the Walther booth. Most of the triggers were north of 5lbs, ppq, p99, ppk/s22, pretty much every gun but the Q5 Match.

>spent 9 hours loading bags of mulch and gravel into minivans
NO

$480...I could probably come down a bit, I overpayed for it but I really wanted it. Just don't need it at the moment

Flips make reliable 1911s as long as you dont need competitive bullseye levels of accuracy

Meh tier accuracy.

30 shots at 25 yards.

nah. I'd rather keep it, it will continue to build value. That's the price range of Model 59s not 39s. The 39 is the first American double action 9mm I believe, it's superior to the 59, only lacking capacity

Attached: 1500695615348.jpg (1280x720, 59K)

ok than don't expect to sell it. there's not much of a collector's market for those

Does a high bore axis really hinder accuracy by a significant margin?

Attached: 320x5-9-bas.jpg (700x600, 43K)

Not even slightly.

True it's not quite as stable as the revolvers, I would imagine because of the alloy, but I know the SW autoloaders are the coming collectors markets, give it another few years. The original ones were all steel, but highly desirable I think I saw one bidding for 2,300+ on Gunbroker

Nope

Bore axis has no effect on accuracy whatsoever. It does have an effect on muzzle flip, which affects the speed of followup shots, but it's not as big of a deal as people make it out to be.

Nah. I have an X Five, its a great competition gun.

Thanks.

Yeah I'm deciding between a compact P320 and the X-Five variant for HD and CC.

I'm shopping for my first gun. I was looking at maybe getting an H&K USP 9mm, or a CZ75. Any advice?

Don't make me dick wave the Mk23 m8, this was TulAmmo through a cold war subcompact not a full sized 1911 with a nice trigger.

Picked this up yesterday.

Star sa 9 or makarov.

Any opinions?

Makarov would be my choice over all of the ones you listed, save for the rami

Can anyone recommend me a ccw gun based off my following range experience?

Beretta 92fs: too long for full, comfortable concealment,

Glock 26: hand barely fits it, easy to see sights, groupings sucked compared to other guns

H&K USP45 Compact: Comfortable, good sights, slide looks/feels huge, 8 round capacity worries me.

I'm not sure what direction to really go from here, as most compact guns seem to either have really wide slides or super short handles. Are there any guns that are shaped like shorty 1911 but aren't 1911s?

Anyone know if these nig-10's are any good?

The glock 19 is really the perfect size for me. Same control and positive grip I get with full size guns for the most part while being very concealable and obviously reliable. Glocks have never been real natural pointing/shooting guns for me, but a few thousand rounds of focused/deliberate practice sort that out for the most part whenever I jump back into one.

The P30 and VP9 actually conceal very well for their size.

Attached: 54ery654e6h54d16h5411df.jpg (2016x1512, 655K)

Thanks user, Ill look into those. Do you happen to know how a glock 19 shoots compared to a glock 26?

Maybe look at the X-Carry then?

Rent more guns, try actual compacts (the 92 is full-size, USP is basically full-size, and the 26 is subcompact).

Not him but:

thats like an opinion, man. Surprisingly a lot of people claim to shoot the SC glocks better than the others in terms of raw accuracy for whatever reason. Personally i find compact firearms to be easier to shoot in general than sub compact though. Expect notably less snappiness due to the full finger grip and longer barrel providing more weight out in front. Maybe try shooting a similarly size handgun just to make sure it works for you. keep in mind that concealing firearms of that size is a bit more difficult than g26 sized firearms and frequently requires dressing around it assuming your normal attire isn't a loose and untucked button up or thicker t.

Much better than...very much like the Glock 17.

Makarov was widely issued military sidearm which was in service for 40 fucking years. That means a lot to me when I consider reliability and durability. They’ve got pretty decent triggers, and if your hand isn’t huge they feel nice too. Other than the sights you won’t see much hate about them, and silver Bear JHP performs pretty similar to 9mm (.5 expansion 13” penetration)

What’s the gun for? USP is going to have a much more resilient finish when it comes to wear and corrosion, triggers will be about equal, cz has a good track record for reliability while the USP is god tier, right along the mk23. USP has better sights out of the box, it also has polymer magazines. Some people dislike this but I appreciate the fact they won’t rust like blues steel magazines. USP will have more muzzle flip, having much more weight in the slide than the frame than the CZ, but recoil on both should be manageable.
>Carry

Either, nod towards CZ

>4.5 pound trigger on a gun with no safety
Why is this considered okay these days? You’d get laughed out of the room if you were to carry a da/sa cocked and unlocked but just because a gun is striker fired makes it alright? And it’s not just PPQs, a LOT of glock guys are modifying their triggers to under 5# as well. I suppose if you keep your finger off the trigger nothing will happen, but it just doesn’t seem like a smart idea

Well, the X-Five is FUCKING MASSIVE. It would not be fun to carry even if you took the magwell funnel off. Of the 320's out there if you're wanting a carry gun that still shoots nice look at either the X-Carry or the Vtac.

Here's a comparison photo
>LC9S Pro-->CZ P01-->fullsize 1911-->X Five

Trigger travel. Striker pistols usually have almost as much trigger travel as a DA/SA in DA, or DAO.

You can't buy a handgat until you're 21 because muh chillens.

Does anyone know how I find one of these?

>Glock 19
>robin blue frame
>metal slide

Glock sells the robin blue frame 80%ers, but everyone is selling the upper assemblies for $5-600. Am I better off just spray painting a stock 19 and crying myself to sleep?

Attached: glock19gen3-tiffanyblue_sss7_bitone-9mm.jpg (800x800, 68K)

Since most of you aren't 80 and obsessed with muh olden days, can you give me a solid opinion on new Performance Center S&W revolvers?
I'm looking at the 27-9, but all I hear is "they suck, they aren't made like they were in 1970!"

I'd say the Ruger Security 9. If you're going to carry it everyday, it's better if it's not an expensive gun that's you're going to worry about police confiscation after stopping Jamal or Jose from culturally enriching you.

The old timers are at least mostly right though, the attention to quality just isn't there.
>blued models show satin finishes instead of high polish
>blued models show sanding lines through the bluing (they're there on the stainless ones too, but much harder to see)
>triggers are heavier and grittier in SA, even after break-in because "muh safety"--gone are the days of a 7oz SA pull like on the original 29's. Tradeoff is the DA pulls have improved a bit due to newer geometry and better springs.
>forcing cones are almost ALWAYS crooked in newer guns (may or may not effect accuracy)
>bores are rougher, even the Performance Center pistols aren't lead-lapped (prior to I think 1988 *all* Smith revolvers were lead-lapped)
But, hey, they fucking shoot. Some of the things that are BETTER than they used to be are the frame fitment tolerances. If nothing else, mechanical accuracy has gone up a bit.

Trigger travel isn't the same as the weight that differs between each pull.

Does this method actually work for reducing case setback and not damaging any parts like the extractor?
