Mac-10

Why is this gun hated again?
>cheap to build
>simple as fuck

Just not as good as its contemporaries. MP5 is a far better subgun although more costly.

Who hates the Mac-10? Is this some kind of forced meme?

Ever fired one full auto? They're a pain in the ass to handle. Even with that shitty wire stock. If you're not spraying full auto...then, what's the point? In short, it's a PIA at the one thing it's good at.

everything is

you're supposed to grip it by the suppressor and hip fire

I'm aware. Which is the cat's ass when sporting your Sonny Crockett Operator Threads. All other times...not so much cat ass.

It's less reliable and soundproof.

It's supposed to be used indoors. At a maximum range of 40 feet, it's very capable.

No you aren’t you fuck, a suppressor collects a ton of heat

The original sionics suppressor has a rubber grip I think. Some of the aftermarket parts do too, some of them added better grips.

The Mac-10 is hated for one reason:

Women and effiminate men cannot handle the weapon on full auto.

Nice pic.
Hope you had an eyepatch.

>Torgue

Are you fucking retarded?

>>cheap to build
Yeah, but many manufacturers cut corners anyway.

>simple as fuck
Sure, but not to its advantage in all ways, the stock is utter garbage.

>reliable
That's where it falters, the .45s used surplus Greasegun magazines, which worked, but their lifespan is limited.
The 9mm and .380 ones typically used magazines made out of zytel, and they didn't really last very long.
They're also pretty picky with ammunition.

>extremely effective silencer
For its day, quite, but we can do a lot better today.
If I needed a quiet automatic weapon, I'd much rather have an MP5SD with 147gr subsonics or a .300BLK carbine with an integrated suppressor.

>devastating room and corridor cleaner
Eeeh, not like I couldn't do that with a carbine but far better.

>you're supposed to grip it by the suppressor
Yes you are. It gives the gun a forward point of contact, making it actually controllable.

>and hip fire
No, no you weren't.

No, really, you kind of were, but since silencers do get hot when you shoot them a bunch (like magdumping), a common accessory was a synthetic fabric cover that you'd fit over the thing, so you don't scald your hand.

>It's less reliable and soundproof
Wrong, the MP5 has FAR better magazines, is less picky with ammo, and the roller-delayed action has better dwell time than the open-bolt blowback action of the Ingram subguns.
With subsonics, 9mm will generally be a bit quieter than .45ACP, as well.

It's not even proper, there were no picatinny rails like that in the 80's.
It seems stupid at first, but the idea isn't 100% retarded, could probably have been executed better.

Attached: escape.jpg (436x306, 88K)

Actually, a better 9mm weapon to suppress than the MP5SD would be the B&T MP9.

How reliable are the closed bolt semi-auto versions?

I hear about a drop of reliability when an open bolt is converted to closed bolt

Mixed.
Cobray moving from open-bolt to closed-bolt wasn't painless, but looking at modern MPA guns, they work fine.

I'm miss Barry. Eric is most autistic Jewtuber, next to Sootch.

I could not get over their .300 BLK vs 7.62x39 video
They were talking about them like they were designed for a similar purpose and a similar manual of arms

>pic related is support to your first argument.
Friend bought one for fun and it was as reliable and trustworthy as a catholic priest with a 10 year old boy.

Sub guns in general have fallen out of favor because there is very little a sub gun is better at than a short barreled carbine... and the carbine shares ammo, mags, manual of arms, and a lot of parts with your standard issue rifle.

That video + youtube.com/watch?v=6x9qHkgdTpc is really good. I always thought mac10's were cool as fuck I use to have a plastic toy one in the late 80's when I was a kid I'd play with all the time.

i saw a cheap mac 10 in a NTX gun show sure
there may pitfalls but whew i was sweating

Silenced 45 is better.

>That video + youtube.com/watch?v=6x9qHkgdTpc [Remove] is really good.
Yeah especially the part where he points out the part you need to cut down to turn an open-bolt semi into a full-auto.

I'm a 80's kid so I will always have a soft spot for the MAC-10 no matter how impractical it might be compared to the modern stuff.

OP is doing what's called "begging the question". It's when someone asks a question that considers an assumption to be true.

He was just explaining it's a problem if that breaks. He just talked about how people would cut down the hammer, he'd probably fixed some that had broken or got altered that way.

Because the AK centerfire was a far far superior firearm.

It's a nigger gun. That's why people hate it.

It really isn't.

>silencer

kill yourself

>especially the part where he points out the part you need to cut down to turn an open-bolt semi into a full-auto
That's not exactly forbidden or secret knowledge, it's long been known that open-bolt weapons are easy to convert.

It's correct terminology you fucking pretend operator.

>regarded as one of the best SMG designers of the 20th century
I don't think the MAC is bad, but I do not agree, the Uzi line does everything the M10 and M11 does but better, and more.

>several light machinegun and assault rifle designs
None which got fucking made.

This

Themed 3 gun setup involving a m10/11, go.

Anyone got a snappy of Matt Bracken mag-dumping one, come to think?

Because bump 17 exists

As an owner of one it has one bad flaw. Good magazines for it have not been made since the 1970s. The original magazines were Walther Mp9 magazines and if you have those you are good otherwise all other magazines are shit made or ware single feed 9mm SWD guns or single feed 45 grease gun mags. Im in the process currently of converting mine to use UZI magazines as fuck paying shit loads for those Walther magazines.

Attached: cod_loadout2.jpg (3264x2448, 1.89M)

Also the original sionics suppressor although good in the 1970s pretty much sucks compared to a modern suppressor. I have had the internal stack rebuilt but even with a rebuild it still isnt as good as even using a silcener co hybrid or omega 9k which both I have tested with it. Also the course thread application of putting it on means you always need to check it or else it will unscrew itself pretty fast.

What in the fuck rifle is that?

Barret M99. The poor mans 50 bmg.

i might be wrong here, but isn't 9mm supersonic and 45 subsonic? thus making 45 superior for suppressed fire?

I intend to replace my sionics suppressor with a silencer co hybrid using the ASR mount. So it will look something like pic related but with an uzi mag well as well.

Attached: edit.jpg (3264x1608, 1.08M)

147gr 9mm is subsonic and common as shit. Popular for shooting sports for its slower and duller recoil impulse.

In it's unaltered forms you are correct. Being heavier, .45 ACP is innately a subsonic round, while 9mm is able to break the sound barrier. However there are a multitude of subsonic options for 9mm as well if you are looking for something specific to shoot surpressed.

I use fiocchi 158 gr. It still cycles BUT has problems when it runs to fast tens to out of battery fire on the original upper as it runs so fast and I suspect they use weaker primers.

the only good vids are the barry vids. rip in peace. best vid is where he shits all over niggers for 12 minutes straight

youtube.com/watch?v=LIlhiCQQ5Xg

In addition, you're not going to escape the fact that the front of the gun has a much larger hole, allowing much more gas through, making it inherently more difficult to suppress. .45 may be inherently subsonic in most loads but you can get a purpose built 9mm quieter than a purpose built .45.

>first commercial silencer is called a silencer

REEEEEE QUIT CALLING ROUNDS CARTRIDGES ITS NOT TACTICAL

Perfect.
Any more pics of special Macs?

Cool looking gun. That was a "limited run" of semi's that had the stock welded shut.

> no checker pattern
> doesn’t shoot mini-missiles

That’s no Torgue, bruh. With those boxy aesthetics it’s some kind of elite-tier Tediore.

147gr subsonics are a bit 'quieter' than .45ACP

Not all 147gr is subsonic, some is properly supersonic. Generally subsonics will be advertised as such.
Calibers like .32ACP, .380ACP and .45ACP, are all subsonic in common loadings.

barret isn't the poor mans .50bmg no wonder you got to cheap out on the other guns mags

Yeah, Barrett make some pretty swell stuff across the board.
I want one of their ARs.

I'm not saying anything about what they make except you're into some money to get one. That grip looks like an AR one but not like any one I seen before. That's partly why I was confused. That and part of the compensator that was visible. I've seen some .50bmg bolt actions that take AR lowers, but none of them look like that and none of the grips had that on there. It's distinctive enough to look like all that other stuff though.

I swear the toy I had looked like a mac10 and there was no way it was a micro uzi. It was a cap gun that took those full moon clip orange looking things filled with that primer stuff. Fucking my parents had chuck norris books, and he used one of those mac 10's in that movie. I know it had to be that thing.

i love how there was like a 30-year period where hip-firing wasn't frowned upon

Micro Uzi VS Mac-10?

hey tony

The BAR was originally intended to be hip-fired, too, using a support cup on the shooter's belt.

Attached: bar-in-walking-fire-belt-cup-393.jpg (510x600, 35K)

Was cartridge a brand name originally?

A guy walks into a BAR...

What is the poor mans .50bmg?

>>reliable
No. It was hot shit actually. That's why it got shitcanned from SEAL arsenals nearly immediately after getting in them.

Lack of these.
