Bought a norinco AK about a month ago. I ran red army standard fmj through it without a problem. Today i shot about ten rounds of softpoints through it and couldnt shoot 5 rounds without a misfeed. Any clue? Bad magazine?

I just got a WASR-10 with a folding stock on it. Other than sling comfort ability I dont see the benefits of a folding stock. I tried to see if it would somehow make it an enhanced clearing weapon, but i could hip fire 7.62 with a full stock.

Anons that have folding stocks, why and what are the benefits?

I HAVE BECOME SO NUMB

I CAN FEEL YOU THERE

Attached: image.jpg (1080x1920, 455K)

I like to think y'all found this picture because I posted it here religiously but I know that's not true
Still really want one

Softpoints don't agree with Kalashnikovs in my experience. The nose gets caught on the ramp inside my MAK, SAR and Draco

Storage. It makes for a more compact weapon when putting it in a bag or vehicle. Thats about it.
But that is still so much better than the stupid buffer tube on the AR. I hate that thing.

>Anons that have folding stocks, why and what are the benefits?
They look cool and are easier to use inside a vehicle/stairwell/doorway/etc.

>Maneuverability
>Vehicle transport/carry
>weight/balance
>aesthetics
>comfort. With a riser (pic related) it feels
no different than a triangle folder

Attached: stockwithriserinstalled-1.jpg (659x494, 50K)

I'll avoid them from now on, that's exactly what happened. I have three deformed rounds now

Name one benefit a non folding stock has

Attached: 52D11DBE-0115-4C41-81C6-F48B4DF9F6AB.jpg (2048x1536, 707K)

Yeah, between that and not really reducing the muzzle climb, I don't really like it. I do like the look of it though, and it seems to do a good job of flash reduction.

Dammit wrong pic but still applicable

Is that an underfolding OPAP? Average price

Did you even read the thread?

Sorry I thought you oddly ragging on folding stocks

>bought a romy lever folder from the files months ago
>built like shit
>buy a romy push button
>so fucking solid, couldn't budge an inch if you were god himself
Thanks Romanian Guard

Yes, and I asked you to name one benefit of a non-folding stock. Cheek weld with a Romy or other drop in sidefolder can be corrected with a riser if that’s an issue for you, but I can’t think of any practical benefit a fixed stock AK offers over a folder. Maybe if you’re gonna try to buttstroke someone, but if they get close enough for that before you’ve shot them that’s your own damn fault

Read your own replies, dipshit. I misread your post.

>hurr durr US made barrels are shit
Aside from ESS they are fine and you fucking know it.
Go ahead, explain to me with some evidence why Green Mountain barrels are no good? Better yet, who do you think Americans as a whole, who have manufactured some pretty damn good rifles, would still be incompetent in milling a barrel, after hundreds of years?
Go ahead. I'll wait.
[posted this in the dead thread, moved it here]

Honestly I like my lever folder better than the push button. Lever is brand new, button is used.
>easier/more natural to deploy/close
>locks up super solid open and closed
It is more likely to be damaged if dropped weirdly on the lever itself, but that’s not too likely since it spends most of its time in my closet

Me
Not me

556 AKs are for nu males

>Is that an underfolding OPAP? Average price

they were $500 just two years ago, and I see them occasionally for ~$600

I feel like my Vepr is over-gassed. Is there a way to check that it's in spec?

Maybe I was looking at the wrong time then. That is definitely more reasonable.

If mags were cheaper I would own one strictly for ammo availability. My area is super AK unfriendly, believe it or not, so I either gotta travel 30 mins to Cabelas or order from SGAmmo

I should clarify by AK unfriendly, I don't just mean x39 availability. I got multiple stories on multiple gunshops around here treating my rifle like it was dirt cause it was a Kalashnikov whereas my friends bringing in their AR15 or AR10, once at the same time as me, got treated like kings.

Yeah yeah we know you're gay. Here's your (you), you can stop posting replies and making threads now.

God I just wanna do hood-rat shit with my homies.

Attached: IMG_20180512_130429340-2214x3936.jpg (2214x3936, 1.68M)

What riser is that?

Attached: IMG_20180511_171031182-738x1312.jpg (738x1312, 263K)

Reposting from last thread: what is best AK ever imported to America?
I saw Valmet*, Bulgy, and Poly.

99% of gun shops are run by the scum of the earth. Why are you just bringing your rifle in there?

>ordering from SGA is bad
I order my ammo exclusively from them.

can't find the furniture i'm looking for, it's either bundled or i'd need to buy one bare and get the sling parts, plate, etc. separate

Attached: my shitty microwave takes better pics than a motog3.jpg (1430x551, 632K)

Babby's first build. Only jig I used was one for the trigger guard. Used a bolt for the others.

Attached: IMG_20180512_220522.jpg (5344x3366, 2.95M)

Another, I don't think I did too bad. Definitely doing another build when I decide what I want.

Attached: IMG_20180512_220540.jpg (4008x4177, 2.49M)

>Factory rpk-203 on gb about to hit $4k
Shit, imagine if Molot didn’t get sanctioned, we’d almost certainly be rolling in modern rpks currently

Anyone have experience with the arsenal sm-13 optics mount? I can get one for the same price as a midwest mount. All I really want is a mount that is durable and will hold zero after being removed. The lower it sits, the better, so I'm leaning towards buying the arsenal unless you guys have a good reason not to. RS regulate is out of my price range.

Attached: SM-13_top2.jpg (555x555, 56K)

Is the brace so that you can operate with one hand on your walker?

Why is there a mag pouch just randomly lying on the floor? Also, how is that pic rail attached to the hand gaurd?

Go to amd65tech.com

Define "hood rat shit". Please.
Bitch.

Does a Zastava M70 underfolder take any AK47 gasblock or does it have to be a Yugo? I want to add a bayonet lug and grenade launcher sights. Also is the stock able to be swapped for wood if I want to try that and see if I like it?

Hey /akg/, since wasrs are $700 now, would it just be worth it to go a little more for a 74 instead?

WASRS are $900 now.

And the AK market is dead.

ARSENALS will reach SCAR prices soon before they get baned entirely after midterms. Fucking cap this shit

Wasr in 762
Arsenal in 545
Maybe Vepr in 308 or some shit

>$900 WASRs
Where? Every place I've seen them usually sell for $600-$700. Unless, you're looking at GB and Armslist who prey on uninformed people.

Attached: 1525993758890.gif (543x105, 83K)

Is this one worth getting?

Attached: romanian ams74 ak rifle (5 of 19).jpg (1000x540, 195K)

>5.45
Dead caliber.

Looks really nice.

sure, replacing the wire folder shouldn't be too hard either

Hell, even on armslist I see then for 500 occasionally. Once in a blue moon. Definitely average $625 (because I saw an equal amount for $600 and $650 last year)

Yugo and Chinese take Yugo and Chinese only

Thanks senpai.

It would hold a zero after being removed and its durable as fuck. That being said, its not the lowest possible sitting side rail for an AK but its not stupid high also depends on optics.

I used to have a EO tech on mine but that is basically chin weld all day every day. After switching over to a kobra its a jaw weld, which is more comfy.

Attached: cyka.jpg (5302x2271, 1.33M)

polytech/norinco are bigly overrated and pure fuddlore

Hey fellas, between a romy battlefield pick up and a WASR which should I go with as a first ak from atlantic? I'm pretty conflicted between the two. They are very similar in price range. Thanks!

Can agree. Noricos were the WASRs of their day. When they were available everyone shit on them, but, when they were banned.
>Closest thing to an original AKM on the market. Very rare. Gud blueing.
I always laugh when fudds at gun shows try to get $1000+ for a MAC90.

How difficult is it to install the combo FSB/ Gas Block?

>US barrel

So Yugo will take Yugo and Chinese and Chinese will take Chinese and Yugo? Or they each take their own respectively? Sorry Jow Forumsomrade I’m a brainlet.

Attached: 754F1487-A38D-4E9E-80D9-E7F8D66BF09D.jpg (800x598, 66K)

looks nice. how did the front sight turn out? canted at all?

So, according to their website, the new SLR-107 rifles are made in the US. Are they still good to go? Are they made with Bulgarian parts? Are they worth it over a WASR?

metal stick goes bang

Dead thread

They take their own respectively. Sorry, I thought how that could sound confusing after I posted it

Kinda agree.
Norinco is definitely overrated, and I fucking love their rifles. I'm not sure why people attribute them to God's work but they do; an user once said "Never underestimate the Americans love for a cheap, Chinese deal." and I've been thinking about putting it on a patch ever since
I've only got to play with a Polytech Legend which was like an art piece in all regards compared to the SGL I brought out. I've heard their 5.56 AKs have some problems though?

Do milled AKs have a 1.0 or 1.5mm receiver?

Surely you missed my reply last time you did this, so I'll just link you. Please, go ahead, tell us why all US made rifle barrels are just sooo bad.

Because US barrels are cheap pieces of shit thrown into the guns to make easy money since 922r is fucking over the whole concept of a free market. It forces people to buy inferior parts made locally because US manufacturers can't compete. The barrels wear early and respond to heat worse.

And what evidence do you have to support this? Spreading more memes doesn't add validity to the meme you're already spreading.
You're thinking of ESS and probably nothing more. Why aren't you speaking on Green Mountain? Because they're 100% fine?

uh after the ban they were worth $1,500 faggot

I just think 5.45 with a 45-degree gas block is wrong.

>very rare
My jimmies
>closest thing to an AKM
MY JIM JAMS

Do they make one of these for an AK101

that is an ak101

Oh shit duh

I recommend the SLR104 for a 5.45 rifle. I have one with the polymer folding stock and everyone that shoots it falls in love with it.

You can collapse the stock and give it to small children to provide covering fire.

>tell us why all US made rifle barrels are just sooo bad
I don't think anyone would have an issue with hypothetical Lilja, Krieger, or Bartlein AK barrels. I'm sure guys would jump at the chance to snag a hammer forged and chrome lined AK barrel made by FN here in the states (just ask us AUG guys). You can still buy Bulgarian and Polish barrels manufactured at arsenals that have been turning them out for years.

Throwing a GM barrel in a kit build is either a cost savings measure or matter of convenience. It's indicative of a lack of care and willingness to put forth a little extra effort or money for that extra iota of quality.

I want that bed sheet

Isn't 104 closest to a real ak74 also?

No, ak101

I've personally owned a lot of these rifles being debated. They're all fine guns but SGLs or chinkshit aren't the top of the heap. Perhaps it's not that exciting but Bulgarian rifles are some of the nicest AKs to ever hit the US shores. Their milled rifles are hands down the nicest.

It's ironic that things come full circle and now a $1000 MAK doesn't seem like a terrible value given the current AK market.

Attached: original-6d423e668516de15eac8083651b939fc.jpg (800x450, 72K)

I’m in the same boat as you in regards to quality. Chinese are overrated. Russians and Bulgarians seem to be the smoothest AK’s I’ve ever shot.

I'm looking to buy some 10 round polymer mags, 30 round bakelite mags (both for 7.62x39), and a reverse dong foregrip set. If any of you guys are looking to sell any stuff like that shoot me an email at [email protected].

I’ll sell you some bakes for 60 bucks.

Save that for idiots on facebook

Does anyone here run a P-01 or other CZ-75 and an AK?

Are those 30 round hungarian 7.62x39 mags gtg?

Yes any Euro surplus steel is good.
As far as non-Euro surplus steel I think they're good too but I've only tested Egyptian and Chinese flatback ones but those are the only ones you'll find for cheap anyway.

I'm the opposite. Allllll Arsenals and Saigas I've shot have been very meh, but the Chinese I've owned and/or shot have been very pleasant
Literally the only reason I dont buy an arsenal is because I understand zero of the hype around them. Everyone talks them up like the smooth as glass, so refined, this that and the other, but I just don't see it at all

Fuck off then. Ill keep these extra ten I have. Bought them for 20 a mag.

Wow you're so cool

The Milled ones are. Chinese are only loved because they aren’t importable. Saigas will be the same in a couple years.

Sounds like a personal problem. At least I have bakelites.

I'm an unrelated user who just thinks you sounded like a douche. We've all gotten bakes for $20.
I got this Norinco bake for $25 back in the day. I'll sell it to you for $150 though.
Did I do it right? Am I cool like you?
Get off your high horse bud.

Bruh they already are there
>[insert $7200 SGL screencap]
If the media keeps tossing around Russia, you can bet all you'll got to say is "Russian AK" and easily get thousands. People are so dumb.

>Clearly says NPAP DF on the tag
>no bulged trunnion
>Is that an OPAP?
wew lad

That's just how the secondary market works. It's not even really a surprise that Russian rifles got taken out by sanctions. All of the rifles you can still buy now will be banned eventually, one way or another. Get while the getting is good and you won't be at the mercy of scalpers later.
