What would be the best self defence weapon/concealed carry weapon if you cannot buy a pistol? I was thinking some sort of dagger, or maybe even a long sword or katana that's not to big. What would you pick, Jow Forums?

Not too big*

A gun.

I can't own or buy a handgun legally.

pocket sand

Something being illegal didn't stop you in the first place, now did it?

Quarter staff. You can just say it is a walking stick yet still fuck people up if you are trained to use it.

Felon? BP revolver, check your local laws. BP revolvers are not considered firearms in many locales and can even be carried as such.

Even if you can't legally carry them, you can get it mailed to your house in, like, 44 states with no background check or anything like that. Totally unregulated hunk of steel.

Walking stick with concealed sword inside. If you aren't an old man then you will need to dress like a pimp to pull off the walking stick.

I didn't do anything illegal, I can't buy a handgun becuase I'm 19.

Not a felon, just too young.

Make sure the scabbard is colour coordinated with your trenchcoat and fedora.

What state?

Florida.

Not trying to sound like a neckbeard, but historically swords were great civilian carry weapons, particularly long swords in Europe. Even when guns were first invented people still carried swords.

Just carry a short fixed blade. The less questions you open up yourself to, the better. With Florida's humidity, a loaded black powder revolver needs lots of care if you don't want it to misfire. Besides, you get caught waving around anything that looks like a gun, people will call the cops on you. And cops don't care what you have to say if they're responding to a call like that.

In FL, If I were only 19 I would only conceal carry a knife 4” or less. The legality of anything else is too vague.

You didn't CC them though.

Walking stick but you have to practice

What part of this equation don't you get??????? Order it to your front door from bpguns.com

Black powder pistol.

self defense where? Home defense, or outdoors?

Pepper spray, if it's legal where you are. Knives are a bad choice, you need to be too close, and be aggressive for them to work, and criminals know how to fight with knives. Maybe a baseball bat for home defense.

Knives and blades aren't really for self defense. They are usually used by people for sneak attacks and only real good for those not expecting it. Go for a stun gun or something. Best to just not get in a fight and use proactive home defense such as locking your doors and shit

>if you cannot buy a pistol?
I'll assume you mean firearm in general and not for home defense.
Well, first off, you don't want an edged weapon. Not to mention how much of a legal hassle they can turn into, stabbing someone usually doesn't stop them very quickly. It's not rear for EMS to bag two retards who slashed at each other until they both passed out and died.
Second, you want something particularly dense. Small and as heavy as you can comfortably carry it. A good ol' cudgel/browsmasher is you ideal small-form self-defense tool that also isn't a gun.
A 12-15in stick with a lead core is your best bet. Telescopic batons are also an option.

Otherwise, get a stun-gun.

>Walking stick but you have to practice
Whatever you bring you ought to practice with it anyway.

19 year olds are too immature to carry a weapon. just chew your bubblegum and pass your classes and come back when you are 25 years old to get a handgun

>classes
>19
Being a super senior must be pretty shitty to think like this.

Where do you live where people mistake a 190cm long staff for a walking stick exactly? Also, I hope you don't have to enter a building...

Pepper spray. Or an expandable baton. Or both.

If you aren’t mature enough at 19 you should just be sterilized, desu.

Damas steel... Full length... Who sells this fine sword cane ?

>concealed carry weapon
>long sword or katana that's not to big
By definition those things are big, longswords are meant for use with 2 hands and katana have a blade of at least 2ft. What's more, Florida appears to be fairly restrictive on what you can conceal. You can throw daggers right out the window, Florida has the boilerplate "no dirks (daggers), no brass knuckles, etc." Your best bet appears to be a nice pocket knife although you may have to convince someone that it's a "common pocket knife." Frankly your best bet is pepper spray & running but it's better to have a knife than not.

I only figured out now that navajas have blades looking really much like seaxes... whatever it implies.

>be 19 yr old faggit
>ok guis I want a weapon to cc
>I'm thinkin longsword or dai katana
>ignoring everyone saying black powder
>not carrying a fucking lemat
You're a disgrace to this country.

I'd be hesitant to attribute any correlation, especially given the wide variety of navaja and seax blade patterns. Something very similar to that style was actually used in Rome but I'm not certain exactly how old it is.

You'd be best served just getting in shape and learning to fight. The trouble you'd be in for stabbing someone would not be with it. Plus being good with your hands is a skill you'll use your whole life.

Yeah I agree, they "look the same" but that's about it. I mean, if one people thought of something, it's not crazy to imagine that other guys had similar ideas.
It's just curious and I hadn't made the similarity before.

I know right, we should raise the age to buy any guns to 25 for when they are more mature

If you're carrying a sword, then you're not going concealed, so just go full sperg and carry a rifle

I think these are illegal too, depending where you live. If you're going to be illegal make a pipe cane shotgun instead

>said the boomer

and vote. the brain doesnt finish developing until 25. 19 year olds cant be trusted with the power of voting. much better to have them wait until they have to pay taxes in a real job

mid 30s is not a boomer

t. bong

You should be carrying a handgun at 14. Responsibility is learned. You ain't gotta be fully cooked to know not to kill a man over foolishness, and plenty of 30 year olds are still beefing and murdering eachother over nothing.

>lets encourage 8th graders to carry guns around

I'm sorry that you're such a betamale you weren't shooting handguns at 10, and responsible enough to carry them in your adulthood at 13.

Just die already boomer. I'm tired of paying for your Medicare supplied cholesterol meds.

Because early firearms took long too to reload, were single shot, unreliable, and inacurate. It's also because they were status symbols or just part of gentlemanly attire.

Get a knife or a black powder pocket pistol OP. If you have the tools available, the make a polymer 80 Glock.

They're a better weapon if you're actually in range to use them. Video games give people the idea that you can tank sword hits, but if you're slashed once in the gut or chest you have about 8 seconds to get everything you need to do in your life done.

Any competent swordsman(swing it around in the back yard for a few hours) can completely sever limbs with a drawcut. Can a handgun actually guarantee a threat will be disabled? Not even a shot to the head can do that 100% of the time.

Obviously, handguns are much better personal defense weapons for a litany of other reasons. Most notably, portability, concealability, and effectiveness outside of a very short bubble.

a gas alarm gun then

A collapsible baton would be a good self defense weapon

Benchmade SOCP dagger

Whips should he good

Qilinbian (麒麟鞭, literally meaning "unicorn whip") is a metal whip invented in China in the late 1900s. The 15 cm handle is made from a steel chain wrapped with leather. The lash is made of steel rods decreasing in size linked by progressively smaller steel rings. Lash varies between 150 cm and 180 cm and is attached to a fall and a cracker. Total weight is 1–2 kg. It is used for physical exercise and in performances

With something like the (pictured), you could disguise it as a belt or accessory, only to . . . erm . . . whip itoutin times of need.

Of course you'd need some skill

I don't see anything wrong with anything he said. You can literally keep fighting after a headshot, if all the variables are perfect.
