Well sup Jow Forums.
I have gottent around buying a Llama Scorpio 38 SPL.
It is clone of a Model 10 S&W 2 inches, some obscure Spanish Revolver from a pretty obscure brand.
What can Jow Forumsommandos who carry snubies on a frequent basis tell about the secrets of carrying a snub revolver and what is the best way to do so on a discreet form?
Also anyone here owns one of these revolvers?
Any feedback?
Advices for Snub Carry
one speed loader, more speed strips?
also heavier grain is imporant imo.
It is a steel frame revolver.
I guess it would be safe to use heavy rounds.
At least two speedloaders on my opinion.
Best advice: Don't. Just carry an auto.
I carry a S&W 637 loaded with Speer Gold Dot 125+p 38 spc on an Alien gear hybrid IWB holster at my 5 o'clock position. It carries so easy, man. I forget I have it on, even in the car. Before the wheelgat, I carried a G19 everywhere and I didn't think it was too bad. Now it feels more like a chore in comparison.
Practice with it, a lot. It takes time to become proficient with a snubby.

Do you always have to tuck a shirt in to wear an IWB holster? Thinking of getting a 442 as well.
What's the most cost effective revolver to get that's also reliable? I've heard that they're great to carry but I don't want something that'll rust up when I'm working in summer weather and the sweat is collecting near my waistline.
My daily carry is a Taurus model 617
7 rds of .357 Magnum in a small package, for under $500. Never had any issues with it after 800-900 shots.
I'll look into it. Thank you kindly, user.
I picked up my Smith and Wesson airweight 637 for under $350 new, tax and ffl included.
I was considering the 617 Taurus but because of all the dirt i heard of Taurus i decided to look for a S&W.
And because i couldnt find an ok priced S&W and two Detective i had my eyes on where snatched by someone else before i got to buy them i went with this snuby.
It was on a very good price for my standards so i bought it.
Its a quality gun on a cheap price, my guess is that its better than a Taurus and on pair to Colt.
Its just obscure.
Its a pocket holster
Looks pretty cool. Is it +p rated?
>not using a clip grip on your airweights.
Clip grip will change your life. Fuck holsters.
How would a clip grip help with pocket carry?
>Carry method
Hip Grip, pocket holsters, or even rubber bands around the stocks if you're really poor. All methods were used by undercovers and vice to great effect when revolvers were in vogue. I can personally vouch for Mika holsters- go with a rounded bottom on those. If you wear a suit or jacket all the time, a shoulder holster is great too. IWB and OWB from major manufacturers designed for the Model 10 should work just fine with that guy too.
>Tyler T-Grip
Personal preference if you want this one, and since your revolver is an off-brand, double check for correct fit before purchasing. They're more comfortable on some frames than others
>Extra speed loaders
I don't personally find it necessary to carry additional rounds, but if you feel more comfortable that way, then feel free too. Buy both the HKS type and Bianchi speed strips and figure out which one you're more proficient at, they're cheap enough to grab both.
>Maintenance
Since it's a blued gun, carrying it WILL erode the finish quite fast, especially with sweat. Oil it frequently, and run oiled patches down the bore and chambers periodically to keep the rust away. Wipe chambers with a dry patch afterward.
>Shooting proficiency
You will definitely want to put some rounds through it in order to become better with it. Snubs are not THAT hard to learn for someone who's shot other handguns, but they can be tricky for beginners. Focus on applying the correct pressure with your trigger finger while keeping the sights perfectly still.
>Ammunition
Hornady and others make excellent carry ammunition in both standard and +P pressures, and if you want to go old school (and your revolver is rated for +P), 158grn hollowpoint lead semi-wadcutters +P are excellent for defense.
It won’t. But you can stick the gun anywhere on your belt where it will conceal better than in your pocket. With my 437 I barely know it’s there because it is so light. I can use the clip grip on my gym shorts and go running and it’s fine.
Revolvers are for fudds who think magnums make them tough
Get a semi-auto, or don't carry

look we got a big guy here
I didn't know Llama made revolvers too. I've been wanting one of their .45's for a while.
