What are the BEST .22lr handguns out there? I'm especially interested in semi-automatic handguns in .22 as I've heard they can be really unreliable?

define unreliable?
They can jam once every hundred or so rounds but that's more a quirk of the cartridge itself and besides, these aren't defensive pistols so imho it's not a big deal.
I got my first .22 handgun not long ago and it's a sweet shooter with a great trigger. BTW, the first day I got it I put over 400 rounds through it and not had a single malfunction.
Honestly a $120 Heritage Rough Rider is as reliable and fun a little .22 plinker as you could want.
Buckmark is the best made with best stock trigger. I have the heavy steel barrel with the full length top rail. Has run 100% for me. Have at least 1000 rounds through it so far. Ran it in steel challenge last month, no malfunctions even on the clock.
Basically if you don't buy the SR22 in yellow, you are a homosex.
Space .22 comin through
Can someone explain to me why a lot of .22lr pistols look so odd? I know S&W makes an M&P that looks standard to their form factor but most look odd and I dont know why. Am I just fucked in the head?
You make a compelling argument.
>Suppressor height sights from factory
>Threaded barrel from factory
>Dank underbarrel a e s t h e t i c
>Ezpz to take down and reassemble
>Sexy ambi mag release
You're a retard if you don't have one desu
It's because what you think a pistol should look like is an inherent feature of the short recoil action found on centerfire pistols.
.22 pistols are all blowback and as such do not have that design limitation, which is why they have thicc barrels that would never work in say a Glock, rigidly fixed to the receiver.
Anyways funky looking .22s are for cool guys and only tools buy rimfire pistols that are designed to look like centerfire pistols.
My guess is that .22 isn't able to generate enough pressure to cycle the action unless the gun is designed as such. You see a lot of fixed barrels, while ones with working slides are made from weaker metals, are less reliable, etc.
Thanks boys. Had no idea so figured I would ask.
>while ones with working slides are made from weaker metals, are less reliable,
its this. straight blowback 22lrs can only move a certain amount of mass. the reciprocating mass on on a ruger mk series is a small block of steel. meanwhile on shitty 22s like the p22 or any 22lr 1911 the whole slide has to move so the gun looks right. the slide has to be large. you cant use steel cause it would be too heavy. they resort to weaker lighter materials like aluminum or zamak. the recoil springs are weaker in a replica 22 because even though the slide is made of a light material its still too heavy. weak recoil spring makes the gun more ammo sensitive and more prone to jamming.
I was so pissed that I didn't see the one that the place I worked at bought and only found out about it when someone was buying it.
This little guy is awesome but mine came defective from ruger's factory as someone forgot to put locktite on the barrel nut
>Suppressor ready
>Red dot ready
>2 second take down
>Runs like a champ
You should be able to get a basic 422 for under $300. I picked up my fixed sight 6" 422 for $260 iirc.
>1911 grip
No thanks grandpa
>.22lr handguns
>muh fun little plinker
What does the little wheel above the trigger even do, raise the power alá Africa?
takedown screw
Not using a rimfire cartridge, lmao
Nice. Guess I should get one.
If you want to get a woman to go shooting with you for the first time, .22lr is your ticket to pantydropsville
got one of those. its fun, cheap ammo, easy to traib with. Even on 50m its pretty accurate.
>Still liking females
>2000 + 18
Kek
>1911 style safety
>UP IS FIRE
The fuck were they thinking? Hate it and will never own own because of that fact and I had the cash out to buy one at Cabellas a couple years ago when they first came out.
>Polyshit frame
you fucked up.
You wouldn't download a gun, would you?
I'd like it if it held more than just 6 shots.
Well shucks pardner. Them thar new fangled semi-automatics may be alright but they ain't never gonna beat my trusty ol' revolver. The Ruger Single Six is the best.
Can you get a threaded barrel on one of these?
>look at how gay i am everyone!
>haha i sure do looooove the boipucci!
this everything else is mediocre
yeH, there are threaded buckmarks.
Jesus that configuration would ruin me.
>tacticool configuration
You gay or somethin?
IMO, it needs the ability to take a threaded barrel, but otherwise I really like my NEOS.
