This afternoon I accidentally discharged my firearm into my bed, no excuse for it. I fucked up.
I immediately checked on everyone in the house and traced the trajectory and found the bullet to insure it didn't leave the house.
I then called the local police on the non emergency line to let them know not to be alarmed if they get any calls about it. The dispatch says a officer may want to talk, I give her my number we end the call.
Officers coming by about thirty minutes later, seem friendly and run my name/firearms to make sure I'm legal and my firearms aren't stolen. Perfectly normal right? Well they come back with a $1087 ticket for a felony discharging firearm within city limits.
What on earth is this? Will it stand up in court? its an obvious negligent discharge situation, why would they be such assholes?
>What on earth is this? Will it stand up in court? its an obvious negligent discharge situation, why would they be such assholes? It probably will stand up in court, because your negligence put other people at risk. It's negligence and it's your fault. You deserve the ticket. Let this be a lesson to you to be more careful next time.

Because you told them about it. Don't call the police if you don't have to.

Do you lose your guns with a felony ticket? Does it work like a regular felony arrest?
Its not a felony dumbass. Law enforcement has a duty to arrest anyone being charged with a felony not give a ticket and you would also be held in jail unless you posted bail which a judge would set at your preliminary hearing. Felonies are always punishable by a prison sentence and fines MUCH higher than $1087. Not only that but a felony would prohibit you from owning any firearms so if they were charging you with a felony and knew you had guns they would also confiscate your firearms (especially the one you ND'd as evidence) until after you were acquitted or keep them if convicted. Please post a picture of the ticket so we can see what state you're in because it sounds like you have zero understanding of the law. The ticket should also have the penal code on it which you can Google and see exactly what type of crime it is (tickets are all infractions and sometimes misdemeanors in any state never a FELONY).
PS you're retarded for even calling the police if you just ND'd one round no one would know what ONE loud bang was if the bullet didn't exit the house and didn't hurt anybody you literally called the police and told them you committed a crime what the fuck did you think was going to happen?

Seen this thread before. Either its just a copy or OP is dumb as fuck and doesn't seem to learn.

Here. Guess I'm the dumbass for not knowing this was copy pasta.

Believable, I assume anyone with enough fetal alcohol damage to ND would also be dumb enough to call the cops afterwards

Is going 125 in a 65 a felony?
Austin Thompson
The penalty depends on your state. Here in California, it's a mandatory court appearance if you get caught going over 100, along with several infraction points applied to your license standing, and possibly a license suspension or fine.
Well you did the right thing calling the cops and now its gonna cost you legal fees and a lawyer but you will likely get off with probably a snall fine and no criminal charge for acting in good faith. Dont stress. Breathe. Pray to God for guidance and wisdom and everything will be fine my dude.

did you learn your lesson about cops never being there to help you?
Lucas Wood
This is copy pasta you dumb dinguses This has been posted atleast 2 times so far
Correct response was to check everything like you did, then never speak of it again. If cops show up, say that you heard what you thought was a car backfiring.
