The TMC LV MBAV replica can take small ESAPIs without a problem. I tried on mine using the 8.75 x 11.75 inch Team Wendy training plates.
The foam plates that come with the replica are about 9.25 inches wide, for reference. I have yet to try with a realistic set of medium ESAPI's. The airshit "medium" plates I tried earlier were far too wide and thick; I don't think they were the same size as the real thing since they don't fit in another carrier I have that I know to be medium size.
ANyone used the QASM vertical buckles? i want to attach a chest rig to my plate carrier but it doesn't have the means to do so

Why were the Chest Rigs with Plate insert going out of fashion? Does someone know what the problem was?
Ayden Parker
the whole point of wearing a chest rig instead of a plate carrier is to not have a plate. so it was a stupid fucking idea in the first point. literally the only reason to have a front plate and not a back plate is if you are wearing a rucksack all the time and are required to have armor.

So i bought this Tactical Scorpion 4 Pc plate carrier for $169 a couple weeks ago. Never had a vest before was looking for something pretty basic to start with. Thoughts?
This thought acutally stemmed from a discussion with an enlisted buddy, how had to wear a large rucksack, where this might be useful, but so it's just to much of a niche?
Nathan Hall
Because wearing one plate is like deciding to only put one boot on.
Either wear boots or go barefoot, don’t try to awkawardly split in the middle.
Josiah Mitchell
You can perfectly well carry a ruck with armor on. Thousands upon thousands of people have done it. And when you drop your ruck, all the sudden gee look no back protection and an awkward sagging chest rig with a single plate stuffed in it.
Recce platoon guys wear chest rigs and armor vests. If you want armor, you wear the vest under the chest rig, if not you drop the whole armor vest. That is scaling that isn’t retarded.

Which do you think is better black gear with OD or black gear and ranger green? I only have black gear right now.
Checked. I wear this with my armor on. It's very doable and hardly uncomfortable. Just don't get newspaper twine straps on your bag. In this picture however, the pack has my chest rig and PC inside of it.
yeah pretty sure the guy on the right has a better chance
Grayson Sullivan
LBE with all your shit on it like that is purely for dismount. The Brit infantry really likes the concept of sticking all your gear into the LBE instead of using an assault pack.

Wind River Don't expect a lot of action. It's kinda like Sicario where the procedure is the meat of the movie
William Bailey
how do they sit with all the shit on the back?
Oliver Harris
When you’re in nature you can sit with all that shit on, it’s not like being in a chair.
I see the /gq/ basic guide recommends avoiding 5.11 backpacks, is this accurate and if so is there any particular reason? Considering getting the RUSH 12.
Bentley Sullivan
They are nice but overpriced for what you get. Grab them on sale
Andrew Perry
Above average Chinese quality with a seemingly "premium" price.
Jordan Brooks
Can either of you recommend any particular alternatives in a similar size?
Daniel Kelly
>Go ruck GR series >LBT 8000A Go pack or 8005 (on sale, LBT MSRP is stupid high) >Mystery ranch hitchhiker 20, streetfighter, etc >Velsyst 24 hour, regular and helium whisper variants >Hill People Gear tarahumara
Gavin Wright
oof my apologies, I didn't realize how expensive the Goruck was
Been looking for a decent budget plate carrier. Might buy armor for it later on down the line, but for now it'd be just something to index rifle magazines.
Been looking at some of Condor's stuff, but eh. Kind of leery about it.
Not looking to spend more than 120 or so; but I can go a bit higher if it means I'll get something that's -significantly- better.
Jason Stewart
>120 usd oof you can spend like 146 and buy a Ferro concepts Slickster from SKD. or save a extra 100 and buy a crye JPC which is one of the better carriers on the market
Adam Butler
If you “might” get armor later on, you might as well just get a chest rig.
Hudson Kelly
this.
just get a chest rig user. And when you get enough money to buy armor, buy a soft body armor that has plate insert panel.

Its cheap ar500
Xavier Brown
So literally any AR500?
Ian Sanders
yep. I dont know if its worth a shit. but I can't deny I like it.
I've been on the hunt for a good pair of trousers to take innawoods, something decently breathable and light for summer backpacking but also fairly durable and in a non-shit camo, any recommendations?
Dylan Thomas
>literally the only reason to have a front plate and not a back plate is if I do not subscribe to the Mongolian ethos regarding armor but it is derived from a reasonable premise.
