There was a Half-Life mod I used to play similar to that. Also Battlefield: Desert Combat
there would be no challenge to playing the greatest steamroll in military history
I recognize that guy.
>that 40 year old boomer who still remembers the gulf war
Howdy, neighbor!
A lot of Gulf Wars vets are like 60 now dude. They are legitimately boomers.
Battlefield 2 was one of the the best FPS ever
why does this man look so appealing
It's not going to catch on user, just stop
*snap*
He is dressed sharp yet effective, captured mid chad stride with immaculate trigger discipline and a 100 yard stare.
>Never gonna be another Battlefield Desert Combat mod in your lifetime
Seriously, the most depressing feels ever felt.
I think I ended up logging close to 900+ hours on Desert Combat, most fun I've ever had with a Battlefield game.
He looks like the kind of guy who would politely torture you.
Spot the Vinning!
>when you gotta operate but also have to meet up with the boys at the county club in 20 minutes
Not
>meet up with the boys for cigars and whiskey
>that glow in the dark cia nigger in the camera vest.
Global Operations was the name of the HL mod I think
Nope, most of them where/are Gen X. But hey to a millennial anyone over 30 is a boomer.
>tfw no Iraq-Iran War game where you can shell cities with mustard gas and electrocute swamps filled with soldiers all while sending waves of child soldiers to their death
If you guys ever have time, I recommend reading up on the war. It's basically WW1 with tech from the 60s and 70s and religious sectarianism.
Such an aesthetic war.
>3rd largest army at the time
>State of the art Russian exports
Its not like Iraq didn't have a chance
>jeans
>tan vest
>aviators
>M4 with no rails
Top tier aesthetics
They armed farmers and civilians to stand on a battlefield and dare point guns at American soldiers. As a result, they cowered and surrendered. Like civilians and farmers would, when facing down a tank.
>M4
that's a CAR15 commando you philistine.
My dad is a Gulf War vet and he is literally 60 years old. Not everybody was a private when the war started.
Is that Rick Moranis?
Because Americans would be the bad guys in he Single Player campaign.
Just going to skim the fact there was a massive air campaign that was peer vs peer, or the last modern tank battle was in the Gulf War with little to no disparity between opponents?
>No game about any war besides WWII and occasionally Vietnam
>No perspectives besides American
What's the point of this thread? To talk about games that don't exist?
>peer vs peer
You kid yourself. It was a turkey shoot and the disparity between the technology and troop quality was laughable.
There was WW2/Korean vets in Vietnam. Doesn't mean that the conflict was primarily fought by them.
WW2 is the easiest war to tie an allusion to KRINKLE GRONK. You aren't going to be getting anything else any time soon
I want some edgy Iraqi war game where I can torture mudslimes
>Carbine with A2 post
My nigga.
why?
Cause fuck grass and other shit that can simply be rolled over.
>No perspectives besides American
This is patently false. That said, there's huge parts of WWII that have been completely ignored. I don't think I've seen a single WWII FPS that touches on China, Ethiopia, colonies under Vichy rule, etc.
>fully integrated Soviet style AA defense.
>wrecked by 70s/80s tech
>armchair commanders like to postulate that the all of the A-10s would be lost in a couple weeks had the Cold War gone hot.
>says nothing about how many tanks would be chewed up.
>says nothing about being totally wrong about soviet style AA defenses.
FUND IT
Not him, but that doesn't look like a 10in barrel. That looks like 15 in.
>early 90's
>M4
Fuck you I'm not philistine
The AD systems did chew through A-10s, and the GAU-8 can't penetrate the top of any MBT. Maybe those old T-54s but definitely not a T-72
What song would start playing here in place of 'It ain't me'?
>KRINKLE GRONK
If that's a distortion of "Trump" you need to take about 5 steps back to Dolan Blumph tier.
No it isn't. CoD3 had a Polish tank crew campaign, that's as obscure as it gets. I can think of one game in the history of WWII games featuring a soldier from my country, he was an NPC for one level.
>>wrecked by 70s/80s tech
Wasn't the Electornic warfare shit totally new at the time?
>last modern tank battle was in the Gulf War with little to no disparity between opponents
Lol, you fucking what?
Nevermind, I'm a retard.
>The Model 605A CAR-15 Carbine was a shortened version for situations where longer weapons could be unwieldy, such as aboard vehicles or helicopters. The only significant change from the M16 rifle was that the barrel was shortened to 15 inches (381 mm) in length, so that it ended just forward of the front sight base.
Except the handle isn't full length. It's short like on my standard AR15 carbine. So I'm confused.
>Doesn't mean that the conflict was primarily fought by them.
That's not what I fucking said though.
Or forestock is short, I mean.
do americans really want to relive winning a war that much
>some fag from Burkina Faso posting
Ten bucks says this same guy says "lol beaten by rice famers!" while completely ignoring we were whipping their ass when we pulled out thanks to hippies and pussy politicians.
>itt americans pretend the iraq war some heroic standup fight against a formidable opponent
>actually it was just US, using superior numbers, firepower, technology on all fronts to decimate some backwards arab nation for the 236457 time.
GG EZ lmao
Fuck Yeah
>looks like a fucking nerd
>probably killed more people than whole Jow Forums united
Sure, if you're looking squarely at CoD, and even then they tend to have a campaign or two about the Russians or Brits.
well, Generals are the alpha males of the military.
That last part shows Iraqi troops surrendering to the Saudi Arabian land forces during an advance to Kuwait City, 1991.
>defending against germans pouring through smokescreen as the commissar rallys the men
CoD 2 will always be my favourite
>butthurt liberal
I think it was a minefield
Whatever happened to Black rock-bands?
> that 30 years old boomer go got torn to pieces by a bomb inside a goat carcass
>lasts a week before Iraq surrenders
Not from an obscure country.
Excluding RTS', all you ever see is America. Sometimes Britain as a sidestory if you're lucky, rarely Russia, never fucking ever Germany because devs are spineless.
You don't fuck with a guy with a smile like that.
guess they started thinking rock was too white once rap and hip hop got big
this, The War on Terror (Afghanistan and then Irak 2) was in my time. I was 15yo when the Twin Towers incident. If I was american I easily could enlist and then be sent to die by Uncle Sam before turning 20.
Doubtful
Wasn't Snake in the Gulf War?
>Twin Towers incident
Nobody says this.
Pretty much only amerimutts call it 9/11, mostly because it happened on 11/9 in the civilized world
It's called 9/11 you dipshit
Boomers go from 1945 to 1965, don't they?
That means people above 25 during the Gulf War, which was the large majority, were boomers.
People above 53 now are boomers.
What games have that 1990s war aesthetic?
Not an argument sweetie
Why isn't there an FPS about Yugoslavian war?
That would actually be a pretty good one. I see people on here and Jow Forums pining for a good 80s 90s war FPS and shit like the Iran-Iraq war, the Gulf War, and the Serbia Bosnia war are all good candidates, but the Gulf War has so many NATO countries that it’s the obvious choice
Where the fuck would you even start.
Most of the gameplay would be shooting civilians.
>We are the civilized world now so we enforce garbage like this
,l,
>99 problems
dat G3, I'd be surrendering too if someone was point 7.62 REAL FUCKIN NATO at me
