What's the Jow Forumsonsensus about the Beretta 92A1? Would I be better off getting the regular 92FS, or something else in its entirety?
Mainly thinking about using it for home defense and target shooting.

Same as FS except for rail and rounded trigger guard. I have one, the biggest complaint is finding holsters.
Like this guy said and if you want a holster I've managed to find a dude who does a shit load of models including being able to custom select a variety of lights for a decent price. He does M9A1s it looks like.

Currently waiting on a P30L with a TRL-1 IWB holster from him.
92 is a good HD pistol. so i can see why you'd go for a rail.
but like was said, you should think about holsters, or at least some way to keep the trigger covered while still being accessible.
also make sure you train the double/single action double tap, since it will be much different from a striker fire, and even more so under stress.
Thanks for the help. I understand the holster concern, and although I'm sure it's a major flaw, I will most likely only use this gun for home defense and target shooting (as stated above), so it's not that big of a deal.
Perhaps I will go back on that though, so I will keep the holster difficulties in mind.

I have a 92A1 and I love it. The holster thing is kind of a pain, but it's still worth having a rail on this kind of pistol.
Wilson combat makes holsters, same with KT mech

Comfiest handgun I’ve ever owned. Excuse the cheapo light, guy that sold the gun to me gave me the light to go with it. It’s not worth a single flying fuck.

Pond scum
It's pretty easy get decent at learning the double action shot. While not a 92, I do have several s&w 39-2 and beretta 84 and 85. I usually cheat and pull the hammer before shooting, but I sighed up for a class that didn't allow you to mess around and cock the hammer while drawing. I was able to be decent the 39-2 a week before the class. I couldn't keep a 5" group at 5 yards at first, but I could after a week and 500 rounds of training. I passed the test while people with glocks and rugers failed (granted they were 26 and lc9).
The ernest langdon and Lucky gunner vids helped me a lot and I did at least twenty 5x5 drills. I almost gave up and took my glock 40 to the class, but I didn't have money for 10mm ammo, so I decided to just learn the DA/SA trigger instead.
I don't know about mastering it though, it'll probably take a while until I can consistently get a good group with the DA pull at anything beyond 5 yards.
Not sure
Fuck you WA state and the new 10 business day waiting period. I bought my first Beretta a 92s surplus and have been waiting 2 weeks for my ffl to call
Get a CHL or whatever your state calls it then. Or did they change the wait time exemption on that too?
Yeah i Have been waiting for federal reciprocity but it will probably never happen
hol up
WA state has a 10 day waiting period now?
yeah along with the bill they passed last year outlawed private sale. not soon till they go after Black rifles. but we do have state constitutional right to bear arms
I left about a year ago and was planning on moving back. Should I even bother, or is the influx of liberals in seattle ruining the entire state?
