Any places to look out for good sales this memorial day? Acogs/plate carriers/high end glass?

>shooting sub MOA with a 2 MOA dot

I’ll post em when I see em

gun.deals/

>Buy an aimpoint Pro for $300

I got the sparc ar for $150... any reason to change? Both are 2MOA dots, both have NVG modes. Vortex's warranty is transferable. the PRO has a better battery life, but uses a worse battery type.

>I got the sparc ar for $150... any reason to change?
sparc to pro isn't really worth it. sparc to T2/Comp m5 is worth it

I believe it, but what are the advantages? Better glass, wider field of view...?

Like the paint.

What distances were you shooting at?

Maybe ACOG today depending on if some sales go through.

What acog? Getting an RMR?

Glass, battery life, durability, and build quality. That said, they're both 4x as expensive as the scope you've got. You may not notice an immediate difference in quality, but you'd have an optic that would outlive you.

Attached: 20171205_210854.jpg (3649x1353, 2.82M)

TA31. No plans for RMR yet, but maybe eventually.

I may have my strike eagle sold, but not the mount. Got a reimbursement check from work, I get paid this week, got my money from the SBPDW, and I've got a couple other things I'm trying to sell. So I have a little extra cash.

So if anyone wants a RX01, Eotech 512, or a strike eagle+adm recon, let me know. You'll be helping a poor boy achieve his dreams.

I've held the sparc 2 and T2 right next to each other. T2 is noticeably higher quality, has a better system for battery retention in the optic, better system for adjusting brightness, better battery life, slimmer profile and is a multitude of times more durable. Not sure about the regular sparc but T2 is the highest quality red dot next to the comp m5.

Attached: D4E4479A-8D76-40D5-9D51-BDA7CF8FC4CE.png (750x1334, 540K)

Utterly pathetic. I've never been injured doing any of the sports that guy did, which means he's a total clusterfuck walking. No shit the military doesn't want him, he doesn't even qualify for crayon cleanup.

I guarantee you didn't box then. At least not seriously.

lmao no wonder he's like this

I like the camo style senpai

Also good for you, I'm gonna be getting my first AR here soon

Thanks on the paint. Modified Garand Thumb technique, all-or-most propers to him.

Indoor range, so unfortunately only 25m. I zeroed to be an inch low on the target and, after zeroing, managing to cut the numbers out of the target consistently. If my math is right, 1/4" or less groups at that range is MOA, and I was getting there pretty consistently.

And understood on the glass. I'd love an ACOG, but wanna see how this SBPDW works out to correct the issues I was having with the Shockwave first... one upgrade at a time for this poorfag.

It's early

Attached: DSC_0203.jpg (2400x1595, 1.33M)

I do not want to do anything today. I just got back from a vacation, and I'm beat.

Take your time. You're on the right track. The paint looks similar to my first paint job, except mine wasn't as dark.

The SBPDW is nice, but pretty back heavy. A lot more comfy than the blade, though.

Do it, T. It'll make you popular.

Attached: 20160830_221716.jpg (4032x3024, 1.38M)

Okay guys, it's the time again.
I have an Aero upper and lower receiver chillin in my closet.
It's time to build a pistol. Lets get a parts list together. So far I'm pretty sold on;
> DDM4 12"
> Surefire Socom Flash Hider
> Geissele 3-Gun Flat Trigger
> SB Tactical SBPDW
What else?

Attached: DSC_0209.jpg (2400x1595, 1.87M)

Good morning /arg/.

Grip, optic, light, beamz, VFG if over 26"? QD mounts for all of the above, a sling? Waht charging handle? Just reminders, not sure what kind of budget you're working with or how far you want it to go.

Meh. Not real sure how much I want to dump into it. Maybe 1500 not including optic.
Will be over 26".
Probably stick to a raptor ch. I've already got an 18" and a 16". So probably 10.3/11.5".

What's fair for a used strike eagle and ADM recon? I was thinking $400 assuming ~$250 for the scope and ~$150 for the mount

Get the SBA3 over the SBPDW, imo. I've had both an a KAK blade, and prefer the sba3 by a wide margin.

I was interested in the SBPDW for the meme factor, I'll look into the SBA3, too. Any opinion on the SBM4?
Is there any benefit to the BA Hanson over the Triarc Track?
Same question about the Mystic black v black nitride.

Attached: 1481609616495.jpg (1200x1600, 190K)

I'd still say SBA3 over that. Around the same weight, but it fits on any mil spec tube and is adjustable.

criterion barrels are OP

I didn't notice the QD mount. That'll probably have be sold on it.

Oh lawdy. This rifle gives me the vapors. Anyone else got any Mk12 pics?

I can't comment about the Triarc. Seems like a novel modifications to polygonal rifling, I'd be curious how it compares to a poly barrel and a land and groove barrel.

I'f I'm not mistaken the Mystic Black is a titanium carbide type treament, so it's a plating whereas the nitride is just a salt bath heat treatment. The MB BCG will be much slicker compared to the nitride.

Attached: 1920px-USMC-090509-M-9706A-177.jpg (1920x1184, 351K)

dude according to s00tch thats the barrel used by JOHN WICK in the hit action thriller JOHN WICK 2. he kills so many ppl with his CRITERION chrome lined light weight 14.5 barrel with a PRI compensator .

Morning guys!

>SPARC AR
Piece of shit. Return it and spend your $150 on a PA MD ADS, PA MD RB AD, HS503G, or HS503GU.

Recall that is the non adjustable RMR.

>DDM4 12"
Huh? Are you building like a 13.7" pistol? If so that is dumb, just pin and weld a long muzzle device at that point.
What barrel? I would go with a Spikes 11.5" CHF lightweight profile, or you could just get a BCM BFH 11.5" MCMR upper.
SBA3 is superior to the SBPDW IMO. I like my Geissele SD3G.

Morning dude!

SBM4 is old news. Squishy, and shitty for what it is. Top braces these days are the SBA3, Tailhook Mod 1 and Mod 2, SBPDW, Maxim PDW brace I guess, DoubleStar StrongArm.

>Mystic black vs. Nitride
Two completely different coatings and obviously completely different prices. IMO if you don't pony up for the Mystic black, just get a Toolcraft for like $80.

Good riddance. Shady companies like that shouldn't be around.

Attached: unnamed.jpg (3579x1278, 564K)

Not doubting you, but where are you seeing that? They go for around $180 everywhere I'm looking right now.

That makes a difference for me, too. Ots got one on each side.

Attached: 20180522_084741.jpg (4032x3024, 2.82M)

Amazon has the standard one at 150, unless you have the 20moa?

this is my favorite ar

> I can't comment about the Triarc. Seems like a novel modifications to polygonal rifling, I'd be curious how it compares to a poly barrel and a land and groove barrel.
That's what I'm curious about. It might be a good trade off, but I'm not sure if it's actually a good idea on something with an effective range inside 300m.
>If I'm not mistaken the Mystic Black is a titanium carbide type treament, so it's a plating whereas the nitride is just a salt bath heat treatment. The MB BCG will be much slicker compared to the nitride.
I haven't had any experience with TiCarb treatments, but since it's plating, is there a possibility of flaking?
>Huh? Are you building like a 13.7" pistol? If so that is dumb, just pin and weld a long muzzle device at that point.
I'm trying to build a pistol that will have a suppressor near flush with the rail. I'm still figuring out the dimensions, but the main point is that it's a DDM4.
> IMO if you don't pony up for the Mystic black, just get a Toolcraft for like $80.
Price isn't really the issue. It's the performance. I like the idea of the titanium coating but don't want to deal with flake.

all of these $300+ coated bcg's are great if you clean your gun after every shoot. if not just get a parked/nitrided BCG and drop some (((Lube))) in it occasionally.

So they do. Good find. I'll shoot for $350 for the pair.

>brightness goes to 11

Attached: 20180522_084926.jpg (4032x3024, 2.32M)

Is it the Recon mount COTA? $400 may be too high to move in a decent timeframe, might want to consider $350.
americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/1019/

To my knowlege carbides don't flake, the only time I saw a carbide coating "flake" was on tungsten carbide after a very heavy part was dropped on concrete and it chipped. But if Cryptic bolts were flaking it should be easy to find reports of that.

Glad you like!
Honestly I like my DMR more right now, but once I get a weaponlight (Surefire please release a M600DF-V-TN Dual Fuel Vampire tan) and a laser for it I think I'll like it more.

Well if you go with an 11.5" or 10.3" barrel and 12" rail isn't going to work.
>It's a DDM4
Why are you set on quad rail? There are some really nice lightweight Mlok rails these days.
Also what lower are you going with?
I suggest ADM, LWRC, LMT MARS, or Radian these days.
>Price isn't an issue
Get a Cryptic Mystic Black then. FA has one and it is smooth as fuck. Pretty sure he's got around 2k rounds on it no issues.

$350 is a good asking price.

Attached: 20180515_185722.jpg (2313x1363, 1.89M)

Yeet. I've got a local guy that wants the scope alone, but I may have it sold online as a pair. Waiting to hear back from the online guy before I make a decision.

Attached: 20180520_182439.jpg (1625x2302, 1.83M)

>To my knowledge carbides don't flake, the only time I saw a carbide coating "flake" was on tungsten carbide after a very heavy part was dropped on concrete and it chipped.
Sounds good to me then. Flaking is really my only concern with coatings like that.
>Well if you go with an 11.5" or 10.3" barrel and 12" rail isn't going to work.
Obviously a 10.3 wont work with a 12. I'm still figuring that part out. The rail is usually 1/2 shorter than the barrel. I'm looking into it. The rail length wasn't the important part.
>Why are you set on quad rail? There are some really nice lightweight Mlok rails these days.
I've already got a troy and geissele mlok rail. I prefer the quad. Less parts to come loose.

I cannot, for the life of me, get my bolt catch pin (first from a PSA parts kit, then from a DPMS one) into my new Anderson lower. I've used a punch and hammer, but all I've ended up doing is damaging it and having to dig out a replacement one. I've lubed everything up more than my girlfriends hairy ass, but with everything slipping, my lower now looks as scratched up as her scarred arm. Any suggestions? This is the first time I've had this problem.

Attached: 20180522_084656.jpg (4032x3024, 3.36M)

>Parts coming loose when properly installed
Ftfy. A lot of complaints with keymod or mlok come from people just slapping parts on and tightening the screws. A little loctite goes a long way.

May have my RX01 sold, too. If that happens, I'll have the strike eagle, rx01, SBPDW sold within a week of one another.

Attached: 20180522_093730.jpg (4032x3024, 2.62M)

Get it started with hammer and punch then use a vice to push it the rest of the way

Use roll pin start punch to hold it and get it started, insert bolt catch, tap until started through catch, finish tapping. Will it not go in at all? Have you considered the lower was drilled wrong or you have the wrong size roll pin? What lower receiver?

Try using some pliers to compress the end going into the bolt catch slightly. It'll make it go in a little easier.

Attached: 20161211_232113.jpg (3024x4032, 3.91M)

>Better yet get an Mlok rail. The notion of parts coming loose is luddite fuddlore. Mlok is going to be contract with the mil soon.
>>I've already got a troy and geissele mlok rail. I prefer the quad. Less parts to come loose.
and dude. I don't think you know how military contracts work. I have several VA and DoD contracts for engineering right now. They don't contract attachment designs, they add them to the specs sheets for qualified parts. They contract people to supply those parts. Geissele is already has small contracts with the DoD, as well as DD, KAC, and quite a few other companies. Actually obtaining a large contract is a big deal that takes several years of bureaucracy stamping and fund raising.

Hello.

Attached: 1526913592627s.jpg (125x112, 2K)

I'll try using a vice, thanks!
I did try starting it without the bolt catch it; it won't go in at all, and I don't believe the hole was drilled wrong, as I have two Anderson lowers and they're both the same size. The first roll pin was in the same little bag as the bolt catch, so it should go with it, as was the other roll pin.
I'll sure give that a try!

It's a legit way to get a field agent to your house.

Nice outdoor image. Most of that AR is no thanks though. Sorry mate.

I had an oversized bolt catch pin the other day. Wouldn't go in. Threw it in the trash and fished around the parts bin for another. Little motor oil, went right in. Evidently there is some variation.

>RX01 sold
Good shit on selling stuff man. I've sold all my outstanding for sale stuff except the stupid ADM offset mount lol.
That Acog with the LWRC lower on a good 14.5" upper or upper build will be solid.

I'm not sure anyone would buy that. Needs magazine. MOE handguard is uggo normie amazon review trash. That red dot is lame too. If you're going to poorfag red dot could have at least done a Primary Arms or Holosun.

So does this

Attached: AJ7C4144(1).jpg (2400x1600, 1.88M)

Not clone appropriate for one, I know it's not the real deal but that's not a liberty I'd like to take with this build. I'm even replacing a mag catch that was blued VS phosphatized on the lower bundle. And although I know nitride is an excellent corrosion preventative finishing method I still prefer the phosphate and chrome lined BCGs. I've always had excellent reliability from them which I can't say of nitride BCGs I've had in the past. Figured if I'm going through all the effort to build my own upper with a chrome lined, phosphated barrel I should at least get a BCG to match it.

$250.

Completely fair. If you're going to go hard, go hard. You had a nitride BCG that had some sticking issues right? Might not have been the finish but rather just the machining tolerances. Just a thought.

Attached: 20180522_102701.jpg (4032x3024, 2.23M)

Indeed I did, oh it was definitely the machining. Several aspects of the bolt head and carrier were well out of tolerance. Even the FA serrations were out of tolerance by a lot. On both. Yeah, returned the first one only to get one that was as much but still out of tolerance garbage. Never ever ever ever buy anything from Radical Firearms, they're shit is radically out of tolerance. But the experience has left me sour for nitride BCGs as a whole even though I know that shouldn't be the case.

Are you certain it is depressed fully? Is the post bottomed out and unable to go in any further or will it not rotate in either direction? Maybe try a drop of CLP, it could be gummed up from storage oil/ grease.

KEK
