New Mexico

I'm out in Albuquerque for the summer and want to shoot on some BLM land, where are some good places nearby? I know of all the ranges, but I wanna dick around in the desert some.

Theres a spot out west on I-40 people go to, its right before the Route 66 casino.

It's still technically in Bernallio county, but no one gives a shit so long as you arnt a douche.

I heard you can't shoot in Bernallio unless it's a range?

Is that really the New Mexico flag?

I've never been through Albuquerque, but I've been through Silver City and people there just went to a remote spot on BLM land and made their own ranges, sort of like what we do here in AZ. I don't think anyone has made any maps for BLM shooting spots for NM like we have for AZ here.

...
I was having trouble finding an BLM maps that were consistent
Doesn't seem like there are many kommandos here.

Correct, but like I said, if your not a douche than no one cares.

Got some coordinates? Are there any outside bernallio? Maybe on the east side of the Sandias?

youre being very foolish user

You are right, but I do need to find it?
I only ask about the east because it's nicer. If there is a reason not to go there let me know.

go where you know
>land of wolves

As much as I'd love to, I'm not driving down there. No way I could convince the two people with firearms I know here to go anyways.

>east
>nicer

I mean it's greener

You can try just going west on southern. You can also just go ask the guy at the BLM office, and he'll give you a map to a few locations where you won't get harassed by idiot reservation police. You have to ask in person, though; they don't answer emails.

yeah but there's alcoholic indians over there who rape you
just drive out to the middle of fuck nowhere in rio rancho dude

Cool, thanks
Did not realize that. If I wanted to buy land where is the est place? Might be out here permanently next year

yeah, and bring a friend or three

best place for what? shooting? probably sandoval county before it all gets bought up. maybe somewhere by los lunas or something? I don't know what you want dude

Land to live on and shoot on

probably tijeras/over the mountain

If you move out here permanently, its safer to join zia R&P club. BLM areas are changing on the west side. Not frequently, but you can see they are already laid out for housing development. Its difficult to know when/if some developer bought the land and feels like being a dick about target shooters.

The other option is just bumfuck nowhere on public land, as far away from bernco as possible.

I'm out here for the summer too. What are. You here for?

I have a friend that has a membership there, I'll go with him eventually, but he's lazy
Internship, you?

and you?

Sandia engineer-nigger detected.

Enjoy your stay in the worst city in the state.

there's good hiking and food
I'd give quite a lot for another lunch at the Frontier

Gf and friend have one. I'm just working. I'm an engineer but don't have the grades yet for the nat lab. What do you shoot?

I've got a usual spot out in the sticks and more is always merrier. Message me at [email protected]

Here in las Cruces, NM we have the only FREE range in the state.

This Is Ralph and Petersons the best gun shop in abq?

Petersons will generally have a good verity of stuff, nice thing is they will negotiate with you on prices, and usually just take 10% off the tag price without any fuss.

Most stores tend to be pretty generic with cheap ARs, M&Ps, and rugers. All the mom and pops just stock what sells so they dont have anything interesting usually.

Ay, what's up? Alamogordo here. Originally from MO, though and sadly left my gats there for the summer.
Anyone else in the area?

If you at Sandia, say hi to my bro Owen. Lil meek, med length light brown hair, glasses, works in satellites or something, loves Honda's. If you're from S&T y'all can probably talk about that.

Turn off just before San Ysidro on highway 550 and follow dirt road past the White Mesa Bike Trails is where the BLM recommends people go, and its quite scenic. Its about 45 mins away, just keep going on the road past the trails, there are numerous spots to pull out and shoot into the side of clay hills. If you don't go early many of them will be occupied, however.

Brought out my AR, 2 AKs, and a p228
Funny, I might actually know where he works
Thank

Butterfield nice range, went there Thursday morning... only fucking time its closed.

omni arms managerfag here

there are some places way out past Rio Rancho that you can shoot on that are BLM
Same goes for the mountains, there are pockets of BLM land out there as well

just be sure you are versed in what the fire danger is posted at when you go onto BLM/state/natl land here, everything is flammable this year since we didn't get any rain

It happens. We're not all bad.

I like Omni. They actually have a competent gunsmith there and they're all about NFA shit.

I'm game. When and where?

Ha I knew at least one of you guys was on here! Thanks for helping me out with various AR bits and many stupid questions, I'll probably come see y'all tomorrow, got a gas key I managed to fuck up and need to know if it's salvageable.

we apparently deal in more NFA stuff (as an entity) than just about anyone else in the state.

I think we currently have 100+ cans in NFA jail, plus other SBR/SBS, etc.

the mooooar you knowwww

Probably after the 4th, how many we got one here, exactly?

I believe it, every time I walk in there there's just ridiculous toys everywhere.

get on our mailing list or facebook, we do machine gun shoots/NFA shoots every once in a while and offer our own toys for people to shoot (for a fee) and sometimes are able to rope in other FFLs to participate.

Like one year we had a guy bring an SBRed Draco that was automatic, and his auto Shrike, and another FFL brought automatic 10/22s and a BAR and a couple tommy guns and shit

Will do, I'd love to shoot that full-retard P90 I saw in there last time.

it's very entertaining

last time I took it out I shot it one-handed and magdumped

JK bby, which tech area you at? I was over at II.

Abqfag here. Me and at least 4 others would be interested

so glad I got out of the cartel infested shit hole that is new mexico. do miss that BLM land though.

Anybody have anything at all to do in Alamogordo? I'm going stir crazy living in the mountains with fuck all to do

OP here, I'd be down

El Paso reporting in

bump

Where can I get some 5.45 around here?

Try Sportsmans Warehouse. That's where I get 9x18

Cool, thanks

i might be interested as well...

Gonna go dick around in the desert tomorrow I think

Coords? I need an excuse to test my new AR10 buffer weight

I have no idea, just gonna drive north near the ones posted earlier
Gotta test my AK-74m

Last time I went in to Omni some ginger kept pandering a bubba’d sks to me, and made tasteless anime jokes to a guy selling a Jericho 941

meth

>new mexico
Is there anything to do in that state other than die of heatstroke?

Die of heatstroke while you shoot guns on nearly limitless BLM land. Oh, and eat good food (but only in the southern part of the state)

Fucking go to bed you lanky ass tard

I found this cool ass burnt out plane we roleplay in. Let me know, contact me at [email protected]

How capable is your vehicle, op? I know a good spot near the white mesa bike trails, pretty secluded. I've been shooting there for a few years, never had a problem.

It's a sedan unfortunately.

Here’s some in Socorro, TX. Not sure how close you are to the border but this is where I go

The roads aren't too horrible, we usually park and take quads up to the actual location, it's far enough away that I leave my steel targets up there, haven't had anyone find them yet.

Homebuild ak?

Oh neat.
and yeah.

>Shooting steel
>Innadesert
So that’s who’s been starting these BLM fires

I only brought my 74 and feg. I could. Have brought my cetme and surp but decided not to because of space.

This place is a massive shit hole. I work at a. Brewery down near Broadway and I40 and last night I turn out and a car with a dude parked in the corner turns around and starts aggressively following me. I stopped to turn at a stop sign, the car was parked facing the opposite way I was going and was off. He sees me, turns his lights on, starts tailgating me and flashing his brights and follows me for about 3/4 of a mile. I lost him when I made an illegal and dangerous turn towards home. It was just about the only time I didn't have pistol gun because homeless people broke into a coworkers car the other night. I could probably lock it in the glove box though

I'm down. Someone provide an email or when and where

Non American here, outside of ranges, do people just find random areas of wilderness, be it desert, creeks, or woodland that's far away enough from civilisation and not privately owned to shoot? I don't fully understand where Americans can or can't shoot.

Fuck that, this place is the car jacking capitol of the US. Last summer someone staying where I was had their truck stolen one night, never found it. Had another friend get his hub caps stolen. If I could carry to work I would, but I'm not about to go to pound me in the ass prison for it.
BLM land, or Bureau of Land Management, is basically just open land where you can do whatever.

Yup, usually public land that is not in use is fair game.

It's actually not that bad, most summers Albuquerque doesnt get above 95, here in Los Alamos its 10 to 15 degrees cooler on average.

I would be down, depends on when though

Some of us do that, some go to federal Blm areas we can shoot, some join clubs, some shoot indoors, some are lucky enough to have access to public ranges, some people shoot on private land and some only go hunting. Basically as long as it's legal for the most part, it's safe and you clean up you can shoot there

If your a Fed you can have a gun in your car on base as long as it's unloaded and ammo and it are seperated. Idk what's seperated though and if the mag can be loaded

I'm going to be in abq til the end of summer as well. I wouldn't mind meeting up with a fellow Jow Forumsommrade.
