Fuck off with this stupid “ayy kay furtysevun vursus em sicksteen” meme

/thread

get shot with both and report back.

I'll say 7.62x39 on account of it making a bigger hole.

Easy 250 replies bro, good job!

Thanks nigga

My favorite one/the one you like the least

isn't 5.56 designed do destabilize and tumble/ricochet inside the body when it hits?

The one that I put through your thick skull, OP

I dunno, but 7.62x39 is better against deer

>(Not talking about size and weight considerations, cost, accuracy)

Depends on the projectile primarily. If it were a 124gr hollow point vs a 62gr hollow point (most common projectile weights) and both expanded/fragmented as intended, the 7.62x39 would do more damage as it's a larger projectile with more energy behind it. Does that make it more lethal in a practical sense? Up to you to decide.

you think it made a difference if the kurds in that used 556 or 762? grow up. to only look at the lethality of a given caliber is at best sloppy and at worst misleading, because there are other considerations to be taken.

both are adequately lethal
5.56 has superior range and weighs less, so there's a good case to be made for 5.56.

>more lethal
Are we shooting our subject in their foot? Neck?

depends

>some 5.56 rounds suck dick like green tip m855, some is quite good like m193 but sucks at things like barrier penetration and accuracy at range.

>some 7.62x39mm sucks and ice picks through like m855 5.56, but that is all older ammo (m67) which has not been used since the 80's and cannot be sold in America due to steel core, most common u.s fmj is m67 pattern and tumbles quite violently much like 5.45

>if comparing expanding ammo under 400 meters 7.62 shits all over 5.56

Sub-300 yards they are about the same in terms of lethality, the 5.56 actually causes more flesh damage and fragmentation however even though it has less energy than the 7.62x39. Beyond 300 yards the 5.56 tends to be more lethal, and beyond 350-400 yards the 7.62 goes subsonic. Although, if you are getting hit on your plate in the back or the chest by a 7.62x39 from within 300 yards, you're gonna feel it more than the 5.56, I remember reading an article on how one US soldier got hit by an AK-47 on his back plate from 100 yards and it dislodged a vertebrae in his back from bending the plate a little bit.

>up to you to decide
Not
>you be the judge

>making a bigger hole

So does 9mm over .30 carbine.
