It'd probably be over a lot quicker than older wars. Things are more complex to manufacture. Replacing lost vehicles and crafts would be a major issue, honestly probably one massive engagement could potentially decide the entire thing in terms of how long it would be a 'modern' army or a level playing field. After that it would turn into more of a guerrilla styled thing for ground troops of the losing side that would drag out the conflict potentially forever.
