Is there anything this stuff won't do? I have a shelf with various cleaners, oils and lubes and find myself reaching for this can every time. I've been using it as a "multi-purpose" oil some and have loved what it does for lubing my folding knives and protecting carbon steel. It seems to really enhance the look of G10 and plastics, I'm guessing because it's so thin but there's something else going on because it almost seems to penetrate materials that are not porous. Just used it to clean the fretboard on my guitar as it is good for wood and not only did it oil the wood it cleaned up the oxidization on my fret wire. I haven't used it on any wounds or drank any yet but I like the smell so maybe I will.
Any Jow Forumsommandos using Ballistol? What is your opinion user?
Ballistol
Invented by the Germans, used heavily by them in World War Two. Made popular again in 2008 by Hickok45. Great stuff
It's absolutely top-tier, but finding some in Canada without ridiculous shipping prices is a pain.
>smells like ass and smell lingers for hours
>literally just mineral oil and a few alcohols to get it to emulsify in water
>No anti wear/extreme pressure additives
>canned mineral oil you could have bought for $3 per quart.
I find myself wondering sometimes how much ballistol hickok45 is responsible for selling. It must be millions of dollars worth. Hell, I’ve spent a couple hundred dollars myself on it since Hickok45 introduces me to it 10 years ago
This, lubrication technology has thankfully advanced since 1903, ballistol offers no wear protection
It does offer wear protection. It has protected my firearms very well for over a decade. You are a faggot who uses CLP, which is notorious for causing residue buildups and jams. It also smells like a literal asshole, but that gives you a hard on
How do you rate it's cleaning properties? I will admit that it may not offer the lubricity of a modern oil or grease but it seems to protect metal from corrosion and moisture just fine. I haven't used it to really get in there and clean anything yet but I'm wondering what the "plant vegetal oils" add to this other than scent.
I clean after every range trip (maybe 200 rounds on average) so I don't really deal with anything severe, but it cleans up a not to dirty gun very easily, just spray and wipe gets your parts nice and shiny again.
Ballistol literally smells like foot cheese and is absolutely terrible at protecting the metal.
What is the best lube for protecting metal then genius?
...
we posting shit without context now?
Froglube if applied correctly, Breakfree CLP if just randomly sprayed upon.
Fucking hickok got me hooked on Ballistol
we posting ant pictures now?
>Is there anything this stuff won't do?
It won't cure my depression.
I think it's just the jack of all trades for oils. You can use it for everything, it will work somewhat and not do harm. Perfect for soldiers who had to treat metal, wood, leather, animals, wounds... and supply was often unreliable. Perfect too for the casual user who could either buy one can of ballistol or ten cans of different products that he will only use once. Of course, for most cases there will be something better than ballistol, but even then, there's so much snake oil being sold and cutting through the bullshit is so hard that many would rather get something they know will work.
>smells like ass and smell lingers for hours
It's an acquired taste.
It'd be rather sad if not.
I’m sexually attracted to these little green bottles of Lucas oil. I don’t know why. It all started a couple of years ago when I had a part time job at my LGS. This stuff smells so good and feels great on my finger tips. I smear it all over my guns and pockey knives. I want to apply a thin coat of lubricity to my balls and on my cocktip and release a big load of cume. Is something wrong with me? Please reply
Don't get the haters. I spray this shit all over my guns every 6 months and it works fine.
Using oils for firearms lubrication is pretty much bullshit anyways. Their effect on wear is minimal to none. The lubrication mode of guns are not what oils Are made for, which is cooling and lubrication og high speed rotating bearing surface.
Grease is what should be used if you are worried about wear.
Lube for guns really serve the purpose of clearing and rustprevention. And by cleaning i also mean dissolving and preventive carbon buildup during operation. Call it "Self cleaning"
What you really need in an gun oil Are corrosion resistance, ability to dissolve shit and have good capillary effect
dumb froglube poster
>anything this stuff won't do
Do not put it in your ass. It will not make your farts smell like pine tree to guys at the NRA club. Those guys all lube up with Hoppe's for that ripe banana ass smell.
damn this copypasta is fucking old old old
It really is the best, I might have to start incorporating it into my cooking
I can't read that shit you asshole now I want to know the results of what you posted. Cough up a human sized picture you faggot
I use break free clp for cleaning, hoppes oil for preservative, grease for lube when shooting. Ask cheap and work fine. Might try Ballistol later on.
Pasta but I use ALG purple grease and it's awesome as fuck
Old man always talked shit about it and said that it can crystallize and fuck up your guns. Never bothered to fact check said claim and to this day continue with the gun cleaning routine my dad thought me.
Dry boresnake through the barrel after every hunting/range trip, proper Wood oil for wooden stocks, and occasional gun oil for the action (none if it's a bolt action or break action)
Pls cure my autism and tell me that I am wrong.
>gun oil for the action (none if it's a bolt action or break action)
OK I can see that you need serious help. Guns are machines, machines need to be lubed to reduce friction and stop corrosion. Use machine oil, dry lubes and grease. (Put some lube on that bolt action , you'll be amazed at the smoothness when you cycle it.) Personaly I use automotive/marine grease on semi-autos and bolt actions. Coating the exterior metal with Cero-coat or paint stops rust.
I don't like the fruity grape/licorice smell, it's really watery and doesn't stay where you put it, it sprays out of the can a lot harder than you'd expect and gets everywhere, it leaves a soapy residue that stains fabrics and doesn't lubricate for shit, and while it's allegedly non-carcinogenic, it's still poisonous so you're still better off wearing gloves while using it.
The thing is that I know that I am wrong and autistic. It's just the way I was always thought as a kid.
When my old man and I got back from a hunting trip he'd tell me to clean all guns and that's how I was supposed to do it. Probably also never noticed it that much because he only owns semi-autos that obviously are lubed and straight pull bolt actions where a lack of lube isn't as noticable.
>What is best for metal protective?
Pic related.
> Froglube
Just leave.
>Froglube
made from cooking oil
>while it's allegedly non-carcinogenic, it's still poisonous
There is nothing poisonous in it, it's just mineral oil. From their site:
>Ballistol does not contain ingredients considered hazardous by the FDA. It does not contain any ingredients which may be harmful for warm-blooded organisms, reptiles or aquatic organisms
I use it for almost everything. Good stuff.
The aerosol seems to be thinner than the non-aerosol, I use that for bore cleaning with a bore snake.
For AKs (that run really hot) I use red high temp grease.
This is some blatant shilling.
I use it for cleaning, and use the left over synthetic motor oil I have from oil changes for actually oiling my gun
But it's still enjoyable to smell despite that. How do they do it?
You're not using enough.
i checked it out because of him. im glad he mentions it because its awesome
Hello fellow FP-10 user, glad to see I'm not alone here.
>It does offer wear protection
mineral oil doesn't offer any wear protection.
>not using weapon shield if you like FP10
Not one of my guns had ever had any other product used on it but Ballistol. It is the good shit.
What's the consensus on this stuff? Had a guy recommend it to me at work but I've never tried it myself.

>used motor oil
enjoy your cancer
>t.retard
>no comprehension
I like Ballistol but mostly use it with my muzzleloader. Use it straight to protect the bluing and bore, and emulsify with water to swab the barrel between shots. Great stuff and I don't mind getting it on my skin.
Cartridge guns get Ed's Red:
frfrogspad.com
My mistake, but your sentence is ambiguous.
>smells like ass
It smells like black licorice, hombre. It ain’t that bad.
Is TW-25B grease a meme? I honestly can't tell the difference between all the different oils and greases that I see.
I use motor oil, Hornady one shot, moly oil, moly grease and graphite for my lubricant needs. Never tried ballistol, my guns get motor oil usually mixed with moly oil.
Aren't these torture tests a bit excessive?
