Why is pretty much all shipping from US merchants to (at least) Australia now "first class" for $15usd? what happened to the cheap option for a few bucks? now it's only this on pretty much every patch store I want to check out on

As of 2018 they got rid of sending items in flats which was the cheap option
Now you have to be part of one of a few shipping groups or pay the extra fee
