I may have an opportunity to buy an S&W SD9 VE through private sale for $250. It has 3 mags and ammo. All I need to know: is it worth it? Pic very related

The guy said he has only fired 3 mags through it in the one year he's owned it

how desperately do you need the gun?
its not a good price for a used one of those. its average.
is it worth 250 yeah. are there a bunch of better things you can buy for 250 or just a little more? yes omg yes. id pass unless its was 200-220

I'm not desperate, but I don't own a hand gun either, only long guns at the moment

did it originally come with 3 mags?

if it was my first hg id justify it with the 3rd mag and ammo, but thats just me.

It is enormously reliable and fun to shoot. S&W was literally plagiarizing Glock before it was cool.

how much ammo?

i could sell you the gun for like $200 and tax at our shop (used) because we dont pay shit for them.

unless your getting 1000+ rounds of 9mm with it i would just save another $150 and buy a used glock 19

I think it's 3 fulls mags and a box. So not much

Usually they come in the box with 2 mags, those are like 40 bucks on their own. 250 isn't bad about what used ones go for, new in box is usually about a hundred more. It's almost exactly a glock clone they have to pay off glock whenever they make these. When I got one I thought I was going to hate it the grip would be like a baretta 92, it's a tiny bit thinner feels just about right for my hand size. Grabbed a blackhawk arc iwb for a mp2.0 holster off a shelf, fit right into it didn't have to mess with the retention screw or anything. I really expected to hate the living fuck out of this gun when I bought it but now it's my favorite handgun that I own. Trigger isn't bad I actually like it.

Probably worth it to save up for a M&P but these are decent enough guns I don't think 200ish is a waste for one would make a decent truck gun or beater if you didn't want to get a nicer handgun wet or something.

no man. pass on that shit. if he would take like $200 its not bad.

like others have said, its a good gun, but its cheap to begin with and what your paying in the going rate. you should be able to walk into almost any gun shop and buy an sd9ve for $250 cash.

Im a pawnbroker and 1/5 guns i see are sd9VE's (always black people) we loan/buy from between $70-$100 depending on condition and what it comes with. ive never paid more than $100 for one and we normally have so many used ones that we keep most of them in the back as to not over saturate our used handguns case.

$250 would be a dandy on one of the newer green of gray ones (gray ones are cool)

Its not the type of gun you will handdown to kids or family, so figure you will sell it or trade it in within the next decade, you might as well buy a gun that holds it value a little bit better. I would offer you $75 for that gun with 3 mags and maybe go up to $100 tops. if you find a used glock 19 you will get a minimum of $200 anywhere, and that's a retail shop still profiting off you
