There's a balance to be had between style and functionality.
Firearms are, by definition, tools so if they lose their functionality too much they usually become 'ugly.'
As for fashion, it's still a thing of balance. I think pimping-out guns too much denigrates them to mere showroom-ponies. Where exactly stands the line changes from person to person and I'm sure you'd be able to find someone who find even that one excruciatingly hard-to-look-at gun pretty, but that's kind of missing the point.

Personally, I dislike bright colors on guns and I also generally dislike after-market addons and those two put together is almost assuredly a recipe for ugliness manifest. I can still appreciate the work that went into them, but that is only a testament to the will of the owner, not indicative of the firearm's newfound intrinsic value.

Ergonomics, a word you might want to look into.
For example, I've held one such horrors before (similar to ) and they are stupidly unpleasant to shoot and pretty much do anything else with them. As for the rest, it's also a question of tastes, like I said before.
