He fucking stopped dead in his tracks. His face went blank and he just stared like a deer in headlights. He eventually gave and awkward/concerned giggle and walked away. He didn't talk to me in meetings any more.

It was a closed group comprised of half a dozen members. We had a weird conglomerate of combat veterans, neverserveds, criminals and blue collar guys. We all grew up together, so it made sense. Political tensions in our country between 14' and 16' were pretty high, so we wanted to be able to do what needed to be done in case the situation arose where we needed to secure our families and aid our community. We had some cool training opportunities, some cool gear, but disbanded and went out separate ways after the God Emperor awoke and took the Golden Throne.

Tl;dr it was a little gay hobby, but a useful one. It's like learning how to weld even though you don't need to.

This was my experience

Saw a flyer for a militia public meeting, i went to it expecting it to be one big joke i could tell my freinds about. Complete opposite. Everyone was chill, no one talked politics, most everyone had a real job or was EMT, LEO or ex MIL. Decided to go to a field exercise and it was fun, verry structured, learned a lot. Did this for about a year. They did classes and camping trips.

Then shit got bad. Leadership changed, new sketchy people showed up, all the "decent" people left. The leader started going on "kill them all" rants, turned verry anti government. Turns out one guy was a registered sex offender, one guy had a domestic abuse charge and wasnt allowed to own guns. Some people got FBI interviews. Another good chunk was just garbage humans, trailer trash, overweight, working dead end jobs or unemployed. A lot of drama, ex mil fags swinging theirbdicks around over who operated the hardest 20 years ago.

When it was good, it was good. But when it got bad, it got real bad. Militias attract trashy people, my advice is dont join a patched militia, just do militia things with friends.

yeah, literally the second amendment covers them, but they're heavily infiltrated since quite a few started doing sketchy shit in the 1980s-2000s
