Although if I ever sit down and put together an SMG it's going to be an MP-18 clone, because that side magazine is so snazzy.

Ahem.

Although I appreciate your taste in Germanic firearms, finno-ugric design seems to be more pleasing in this realm.

That is quite pleasing but I stand by my MP18 clone.

UMP

I can dig it. Schmeisser did a good job on the 28.

You are all like little babies, watch this.

Yeah generally I find drum mags to be ugly and side mags to be god-tier even though it's the opposite in practical use

Man i though Jow Forums was a weapons board.

oh look another plastic skeleton of a firearm

Attached: 1529412314728.jpg (350x350, 35K)

I will never understand why Kijiro Nambu thought making shit-tier copies of German arms was a good idea. Even a drunk Finn made a better Luger knockoff than him.

Theres no plastic on that entire firearm, it's all stamped steel exept for the grips maybe and the buffer.

The type 100/40 was a silly piece of shit that had a fucking bipod and all sorts of extra bullshit.
The type 100/44 was simple and cheap to make and had a respectable 800 rpm, only hindered by a shit chambering. I think it's a neat smg though.

Behold: the proto-p90

Attached: zb-47.jpg (600x399, 17K)

>not a single chip of polished wood anywhere
actually die

Oh don't get me wrong- neat peace of history and would've been real hell for the Marines if it went into full production. Nambu's designs just baffle me. Wtf was going through his head?
Type 14:
>i see luger
>too complex, i fix
>i remove lever
>i replace with blowback
>i chamber in shit-tier cartridge
>now impossible to field strip
Type 3:
>i see Hotchkiss
>i copy
>6.5x50 too powerful, cause malfunction
>i shame cartridge
Type 92:
>i scale up Type 3
>still use shitty feed strip
Type 38:
>see mauser
>i like, i copy
>i make look Japanese
>army say rifle underpowered, i make new
Type 99:
>i take nippon-mauser
>i make bigger
>i take katana
>i chop
>Type 94:
>i make my own pistol
>i make look ridiculous
>i make impossible to field strip
>i make it misfire bc yolo

Classic. I could see a Bond villains henchmen with these.

Alternate reality mp5 is best.

For me, it's the MP40

Is that a re-enactment picture or did Germans actually practice good TD in WW2?

The drum just looks absolutely autistic, that's why I prefer the 28 to the 18.

The PPSh41 isn't as elegant (or even remotely as reliable as), the Finnish Kp/31 it is partially based on.

This gun is Finland's answer to the Thompson, a heavy and expensive machined beast that absolutely vomits pistol bullets.
It holds 71rds of 9mm Luger in the drum magazines, and lets them off with a blistering rate of fire. With the weight of the gun, and a loaded drum, recoil is a breeze, you could almost write your name with these things.
The drums themselves are pretty good though, a bit heavy, but also extremely reliable and dependable.

You can shoot so many commies with this thing!

Attached: Suomi KP-31 9mm Luger.jpg (999x628, 170K)

The Uzi is based on a Czech subgun, but not that one, it was based on the Zk476, which Israel wanted to adopt, but which the Czechs decided wasn't worth their time.

The Sa23 is grip-fed and has a telescoping bolt, features which the Uzi has, but one of the key features of the Uzi is how the receiver is basically a box with a top cover, allowing for extremely easy maintenance; this was one of the most sought after features of the Zk476 to the Israeli.

Attached: ZK476.jpg (800x450, 106K)

The Mp40 becomes a lot nicer when you replace the horrid metal stock with a traditional looking wood one.

The magazines remain shit though.

The m/45 was extremely good for its time, it's no wonder postwar Germany almost adopted it over the Uzi.

In Sweden, the ammunition typically used with the m/45 was the m/39b, a very high pressure, armor piercing 9mm loading. Couple with a reliable 36rd magazine, and this thing was a little devil in close combat.
Some of the early trials guns could use the Finnish Kp/31 drum, too, which, coupled with the easy rate of fire, would make this a rather neat gun.

Attached: ARSM9x18.png (500x310, 43K)

Is there a recoil spring below the barrel on that or something?

>what if we took a suomi, but made it look retarded?

as someone who owns both a suomi and a pps43, the pps43 is superior.

lighter, better cartridge, simpler + easier to use, more reliable magazine design, more compact with folding stock, infinitely field strip proceedure, more practical ROF.

yes the suomi shoots faster, has less recoil, and has drums, but have you ever actually tried carrying a full rig of drums + a 35" inch 11 pound rifle? Real combat isn't cawwadooty full auto spraying and mostly stationary targets 15 meters away. Imagine dismounting and embarking vehicles or having to shoot out of a vehicle with one, or room clearing with a 35" suomi vs 25" folded pps43. Drums are impractical and the suomi shoots too fast for stick mags to be viable + 9mm lol

pickup truck with 6 guys with pps43s and 2000 rounds of 7.62 tok vs pickup truck with 6 guys with suomis and 2000 rounds or 9mm in an urban area;
PPS43 truck disembarks and sprays suomi truck before their crew can even all get out of the bed of the truck, those that do make it out of the truck pepper PPS43 truck's position with puny 9mm and then are assraped by more compact firearm with hotrod cartridge with slightly better barrier penetration capabilities in tight buildings after they burn through all 2000 rounds of 9mm before PPS squad has made it halfway through their ammo supply.

Funny you should mention that

Is that joker from mass effect

Pinnacle of SMG sex right here, close seconds to the MP40

The MP18 itself is autistic in the fact that if you pushed the feeding portion of the drum mag too far into the mag well, it wouldn't feed correctly. I believe this was fixed on the MP28 by schmeisser.

Would a rifle with a stock like that be california legal?

>T.

Attached: 1529895746866.png (380x349, 70K)

That stock looks a lot like post-war Haenel airguns. Aesthetic as fuck.

they issued rubber sleeves in WW1 that would prevent over-insertion

This.

Huh I never knew that, have a link to an article detailing that or something?

Attached: images(3).jpg (259x194, 5K)

post pics

it's mentioned in ian's video on it:
youtube.com/watch?v=7Z7O8SZhdgw

furthermore, there was a version of the snail drum mag made with a metal sleeve to prevent overinsertion once they discovered that issue; they still work in lugers too, so it was a permanent modification on the second model. it can be seen in this image
