Official mock-up of korean fighter jet disclosed

Note that the first iteration is going to be designated as 4.5th gen due to the lack of the internal weapons bay, but they did left provision for such

Nice

>IRST bulb
Yikes

>designated as 4.5th gen
>4.5 gen
>in 2018

When USA is your military ally, all you need is equipment that will complement them.

>semi-recessed missiles
>hardpoint mounted sensors
PARTY LIKE ITS 1999

Majority of the design and construction, is by Indonesia rather than Korea.

>indonigger wewuzzing

Unlike Ausfalia, Indonesia is capable of designing its own 4-5 gen fighter instead of having to beg for lockmart table scraps

lol whatever you say indog

Good, care to provide where the sauce is?
As far as I'm concerned, indonesia was on the brink of exiting the project due to lack of funding

Kindly reminder that the majority of the planes will still be non-stealth variants even in 2020s

Oh?

Yeah but if China's J-31 is legit then South Korea is already outmatched.

>J-31
Last time I heard about it had a lot of bad impressions floating around
btw it's not even "J" yet since it hasn't been adopted by the military, it's a pure corporate program

>waste money on stealth technology
>no internal weapons bay

Why even bother with a proof of concept that proves nothing?

reminder this jet is to replace F-5s and f-16s(retirement scheduled at 2040). it was meant to be a stepping stone to the 5th generation fighters. meanwhile koreans are planning to use this along side with F-35s they bought from the states.

would really like to read articles about this, because im pretty sure indo tried to pull out of this project many times

>no internal weapons bay
they left a space inside the fuselage

Ok cool that makes perfect sense.

They probably could have gotten away with saying "internal stores are temporarily removed". Good on them for being honest.
