Lol I put the carry handle on that way because it works better for me. It's easily reversed. Also it's a PTR from the Farmington CT factory from when they were using FMP tooling and HK surplus parts.

Most people put it on that way for some reason user. Guess it works better for right hand dominance.

I also refinished the stock, added tech sights, and glued wood to the bottom of the mag.

I'm considering selling mine since it's so boring to shoot.

The 10/22? How is the best plinker out there boring?

It's accurate enough and cheap to shoot but there's no recoil and hardly any sound so there's no excitement. The really boring part is that it's semi-auto so it's like clicking a mouse 10 times.
The mags are also annoying because they have an unusual amount of failures to feed no matter how I wind them.

Honestly the only reason I keep it around is because I have a lot of .22, to take photos like pic related, and in case I need to take a first time shooter to the range (like a date) which doesn't look likely to happen at all.

Yeah I feel you, I keep my 10/22 around because it's the last firearm I shoot to wind down a day at an outdoor range because you can go through so much ammo and it doesn't destroy your wallet like 7.62x51 does.

I'm also considering getting rid of pic related though I'm pretty sure I'll regret it more than getting rid of the 10/22. I like historical guns, but seriously this one is incredibly hard to shoot due to the trigger and sights. I have a less collectible but much more enjoyable hi power I enjoy shooting more.

The 10/22 mags with failure to feed issues can sometimes be caused by overtightening of the central screw (in 10 round rotary mags) and poor deburring of the feeding lips (break all them sharp edges on the bottom of the metal things on the bottom right of pic related). If issues persist cry and then lube the contact points of the red thing with a plastic safe oil.
