What is the best military surplus pistol?

Let's settle this right here, right now. What is the best military surplus pistol? My pick is the German walther P38 (post war) Considerations include aesthetics, functionality, cartridge, future price appreciation, sexiness, reliability.

Makarov of any flavor

AMERICA, FUCK YEAH
COMING AGAIN TO SAVE THE MOTHERFUCKING DAY YEAH

Radom vis 35

Technically policesurp, but that title belongs to the Beretta 92S

>plus it looks like an uncircumcised P38

I like this boy
For 200 buckeroos you really can't go wrong.

Reliability of the P38 is awful with everything other than ball ammo and even with that you can limpwrist it easily.

A P1 is not a P38. They're different models just like the SVT-38 and SVT-40 are different models.

The P38 uses rivets for all the pivoting parts and pins while the P1 uses studs that are part of the frame or larger pins. The P38 has a steel frame while the P1 has an alu one. P1 is much more susceptible to being ammo sensitive and wears much quicker than a P38.

Eh I like my pre war Walther PP

Any of the double action Colt and Smith and Wesson's the US has used. .38 s&w, .38 Special, .45 ACP can do anything you want between them. Great functionality, great reliability, price seems to be steady, WW1 aesthetic can't be beat but not exactly sexy.

these are too tempting at that price. I want them to dry up so i don't own something I have no use of

Rhodesian Mamba because it slotted some floppies

Browning hi power

Its made for ball ammo. Not every gun needs to have a spice rack of options for ammunition. Go fuck yourself

They are cool and aesthetic, but the cracking slide issue makes me wary of shooting mine

1911 has two air-to-air kills

Is nobody going to address the image this guy used? There are a million pictures of P38's and this guy used what appears to be a cell phone picture of a youtube video on a computer.

We're all so familiar with P38's and they're so uninteresting no one even clicked the thumbnail. It could have been a P38 shaped dildo and no one would have cared.

What's a P1 or P38 going for these days? I'd assume the P38s are a bit priceier.

Yucky yucky post war.
Get a REAL P38
I've got so much seller's remorse for mine but it's such a hassle for a

Russian captures are usually $500-700
Cheap post wars/French production ones are $375-550

Find me a French production for $375 and I'll buy it on the spot.
>user forgets it's not 2008 anymore

walther pp or cz skorpion

>French production
I've got one. But I acquired it in that year. My first pistol. The decocker is worn out but I can hit my target well out of 9mm's effective range.

beretta 92

Love my star looking at maybe buying a couple more before supply dries up.

Browning Hi-Power.

I would say the Makarov pistol.

This

I need to join the CMP so i can get a garand for cheap in NC

Ya

Even the post war German army/police Walthers are somewhat rare. They will only continue to increase in price. I bought a couple that I don’t shoot just for investment and collectibility. I just love the European surp pistols

how is 9 mak to 380?
I'm still thinking of getting that vz 61
