I've already read the retarded comments and while funny I'll be serious. I run 124+p in both golddots and hst. 147 gr hst in the winter. Like the extra penetration for thicker winter clothing.

me likey 124 gr gold dot

It's all the same

I have several boxes of gold dot, hst, and critical defense on my stash.

I rotate out my carry ammo every few months. Never had a ftf with any of the major brands

Just fuck already

Good choice boys. Drinking Dalwhinnie this morning

Fuck you. The grass has to be mowed so I can grill some fuckin CHOPS

I like winchester pdx defender
has a meme copper bullet, and in my experience has pretty low recoil and very little flash. plus it's generally cheaper than the other shit I see at the store, $19 a box versus $29+

124 HST or Gold Dot is better.

That said I do carry 147gr XTP because it's cheap and I'm poor

124 grain xtp +p are unironically the best defensive 9mm round because they expand every time and penetrate deep. It works out very well when a bullet needs to penetrate a fat man's arm into his chest and hopefully out the other side.

I have in .380 for my PPK, did a lot of research and it came up as the best available one at the time.

Anybody spent spent any time figuring out is this stuff is hype or useful?

XTP is fucking God teir in 10mm, it does some crazy shit at 1300fps.

Forgot pic. This stuff.

I'd really love to know. This is only the 2nd time I've seen this ammo mentioned

>ammolets detected.
XTP is mediocre shit at best in almost every fucking caliber. Low expansion old tech bullet designed more for accuracy than anything. Gold dots(124gr standard or +P depending on need) and critical duty are objectively the best choices, particularly when it comes to standard velocity range 9mm ammunition. Honorable mention goes to the 147gr HST. The bonding on the GDs and CDs is just way better than the XTPs allowing for considerably better post barrier performance with decreased likelihood of weight loss. Also helps them perform better when pushed at higher velocities than intended like with +P+ loads or out of a longer barrel. The filld HP cavity of the CD also prevents failures to expand due to clothing or other material. If you want more penetration then go with the GDs/CDs. If you want good expansion then go with the 147gr HST or maybe 115gr DPX.

I'm interested in seeing how Winchester Hybrid-X performs, but I haven't heard a date for when it will hit the market.

Done a good bit of research on it as im a bit of an ammo nerd. Gel results are everywhere but the real question is what happens when the metal meets the meat. unfortunately such info is hard to come by in any sort of verifiable format as opposed to simple word of mouth. I've managed to find necropsies of the lehigh projectile in .45, 9mm, .357, 45-70, and .500 S&W Mag. In the latter 3 cases all rounds were fired from rifles and likely traveling in the 2000-2300fps range. Results were clearly and considerably more impressive than would be expected of a simple FN or ball projectiles producing primary wound channels larger than the bullets diameter. Lacerations on internal organs that did not appear to be caused by direct contact with bullets were a particularly interesting result from one of these necropsies. the .45 and 9mm necropsies were done by a different individual(neto of AP2020 outdoors) and are frankly poorly done in comparison which makes me a bit hesitant to hang my hat on them although they do also seem to possibly caused more damage in some tissues than you would expect of ball ammo, also i don't trust the presenter as in my opinion he has almost certainly falsified his results in at least one other demonstration. Can post sauce if youd like.

I'd appreciate it.

>45-70 and .357 mag on white tail
Particularly are the 45-70 results, this may be due to greater energy and/or meplat diameter, the latter of which is hinted at as an important factor in lehigh's patents on the bullet design. Worth noting that these are xtreme penetrators instead of xtreme defenders.

not much info on this one. bullets blow up hearts was my take away.

>why i dont trust neto
Seems to shoot HST through frozen deer leg to make it look bad, gets called out in comments, denies it. You be the judge.

Thats a funny way of saying 147 grain federal hst.

My take away is that they almost certainly work well at rifle velocities in at least some calibers. Gonna wait for better necropsies on the lower velocity loadings before trusting them.

Are these the 9mm equivalent of m855a1?
