Please help, Jow Forums. Im looking to buy an Ak and all my research is turning up is paranoia. I initially looked into Riley Defense's Rak-47-p because i like the finish and the style of the rifle (I like the classic forward grip without too many rails) but as I read on people were saying they fail to feed and some parts werent forged up to snuff, but alot of issues were resolved with the owners and fixed over time. The customer service from ruley defense would be a huge selling point. Higher price range im looking at Arsenal for their hammer forging and experience.
(Tl;dr)What are other good suggestions for the 1000 dollar budget that dont sacrifice quality?
Buy a WASR. Inspect it thoroughly at the store/FFL for canted sights, shitty rivets, etc. Then buy steel surplus mags and ammo and go practice and have fun.
I have an slr-104fr... 2000 rounds of 7n6 through it without a hiccup... havent tested accuracy on paper, but i have a ar-500 d or c zone silhouette and i can hit all day standing at 150 yards
Arsenal is pretty solid stuff. I went for the SAM7SF, because I wanted a folder I could use optics on, and also be able to fire it. Downsides is its bretty heavy.
Tube, end caps and spacers (got all Ti) from diversifiedmachine.us If you'd consider homemade this guy is stupid highly reviewed. Ti Baffles from zmachineworx.com
If that's relating to my gun choice, fuck off. If it's because of whats in my closet, I'm currently working on moving in to there haven't really moved much of my stuff over yet, so its really empty. Got bored and took a picture.

I really like the muzzle on this baby from arsenal
If you want a Yugo: N-PAP. If you want a basic AKM: WASR 10/63 and spend the rest on ammo. If you are comfortable spending $1000: Arsenal
I have a 107FR that I absolutely love. Front sight has a SLIGHT cant to it, but isn't really noticeable, and can be zeroed. Unless you are spending big money on boutique builders you just need to know how to inspect for straightness, quality of rivets and smoothness of the bolt operation. Also, never buy American AK's, they're all garbage. Imports are the way to go.

No, US made barrels are OK nowadays as long as they're nitride or chrome. What you don't want is US made receivers or shit like that. Basically anything but the barrel.
Hunter Williams
You can find them at gun shops or armslist you dumbshit. Try looking there.
