I've seen new gen models at $300 or so. I don't have any experience using one but I looked through one today to see if the dot would be acceptable with my eye problems and the tint didn't bother me. I can see tint bothering someone though, but at the size and weight compared to a PRO I would deal with it personally.

Because FFP offers little to no benefit in LPVO's. Illumination and battery life is always subpar and you're unlikely to need ranging capability at anything other than max magnification anyways.

No. The extreme spread has been reduced from 1.1x-1.7x down to around 1.1x-1.3x, but they all still have some.

I think its been reduced. If you like it go for it, I wasn't much a fan of mine but it held zero and did all the things an optic should. I just prefer the aimpoint offerings and the MRO does have the tint and magnification issues that aimpoints dont

Yeah and the eye box is huge. We were doing low ready to single shot up drills with T2s vs Elcan on 1x and the difference was imperceptible.
I also messed with both chinweld and counter clockwise (I'm right handed) rotation for using stacked RMR on Acog and honestly is pretty weak for close range quick reaction stuff except in the case that you were on the 4x then needed to transition super fast. Even then the Elcan's throw lever is pretty damn easy to flip.
Congrats on the Elcan bud. I want one.
While obviously not the best engineering, I maintain that it is statistically a non issue.
