>Indigenous Liaison Officers (ILO) support their Commanders through delivering sound cultural expertise, liaison between Air Force and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and maintaining close personal rapport with Elders, leaders and members of the community. ILOs will liaise with both Army and Navy ILOs and build common military themes for the community. ILOs will coordinate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander celebrations on Base and support Indigenous members. The ILO will work within the broader Air Force ILO Network situated around Australian Air Bases and will advocate the implementation of Defence’s Reconciliation Action Plan and the Air Force Indigenous Strategy. The ILO will be involved in Indigenous Youth Programs and work closely with Defence Force Recruiting to create opportunities for the community. Immersing Aboriginal culture into RAAF customs and culture is an important aspect of the role.

Wanna join the ADF because I'm a directionless goon with no real skills.
I hear that this is a terrible idea though and I'll probably hang myself in a bathroom if I just enter because I can't find anything else.
Any truth to that

Well all the combat roles for army are not recruiting for some reason so looks like you better find a load bearing beam mate.

>You're in the field and this fine young lass gives you some orders to assault a position, what do?

Make your own decision for starters, as an Officer candidate is expected to. Sat your OSB yet?

>tfw American is so strong every other country looks like they play with Tonka toys

Get the job first. Then go apply for JAG. You might not even get it, but if you do then you can cuck your employer and have your job reserved for 4 years while you go LARP. JAG is pretty competitive, so having that safety if you get rejected is good.

Go make some money while you can, JAG will be more willing to take you later than Big Law

Is there anything leftover from Nam that comes close to resembling an Air Cavalry Division in the Army?

>wanted Personnel or Finance
>put me in as a Maintainer

It's not fair God, the AirForce was supposed to be a comfy desk job.

>Trying to convince mutts not to die for the interests of elites/Israel
Lol

thats what you get for going AF
Nah youll be fine relax

Should I take the sure thing and go for Aircraft Metals Technology, or should I try and become a Flight Warrant Officer? Career vs. flying cool shit?

>flying cool shit?
Why cant this be a career?

I'm not sure how long I'll be in the military, and being a civilian pilot isn't really something I want to do, unless I was a life flight pilot or something.

>I'm not sure how long I'll be in the military,
Exactly, you arent sure. Youre trying to plan 20 years into the future and you dont even know where youll be in 4. You might love it and want to stay in. And if you dont like it get out with the Gi Bill and re-invent yourself.

This
No reason you can't have both, bro. WOFT lets you take advantage of the critical shortage of helo pilots and do everything from transport to LEO to SAR. Seriously consider it.

Civilian piloting is a poor man's game. You'd have to be unreasonably dedicated to the profession for an inordinate amount of time before you even begin making appreciable money. That being said, if you want to helo jockey in the Army for at least a few years before getting out and pursuing aircraft metals, go for it.

This is an awfully similar question to the current line of discussion in this thread:

I was considering a career as a helo mechanic (I'm currently serving as a newly-minted officer in the Natty Guard and would like to employ my accrued tuition funbucks). Are aircraft technicians currently in demand? Which technical schools should I apply for?

Attached: hawken_laila_mechanic_by_zeronis-d6f2yvk.jpg (700x337, 37K)

So I've narrowed down my two options to Tank Crewman and Infantry. I like the sound of both yet can't make up my mind.

The only way you should even consider infantry is if you go opt 40.

Being an aircraft maintainer of any kind is a long process. You need to be 36 months as a maintainer under someone else's tutelage before you get your own license. There's demand for it, but it's a long process and being an AD or 15# or whatever the AF equivalent is would have been a better start to such a career.

About to join the Marine Corps, what all can I get in my contract?

Would the army care about my shit gpa or is having a degree enough to get me into OCS?

>it's a long process and being an AD or 15# or whatever the AF equivalent is would have been a better start to such a career
I understand that, but I'm fully committed to entering the field. I don't have any reservations otherwise. Any advice for someone in my position?

hey dudes. I kinda want to go for SFAS in the Army but i come from a Navy family and they all would be burnt if i joined the Army. I know it sounds weird but did anyone else have trouble from their senpai about joining a particular branch?

Thanks dudes. I've got a lot of prep work to do, but I'm gonna go for WOFT.

how does this translate?

Attached: afqtpie.png (799x201, 33K)

It means you have syphilis. Sorry user.

did u study?

depends on the community you want to join and the current fiscal year in your recruiting district. Ultimately you have little control over it. But hey, you can always enlist.

no

How about myself? I did it cold as well, but I was thinking about OCS. I missed USMC reqs by 1 I believe.

Any former Marines here? What do POGS think of infantry Marines, and what is the day to day life of one. If I want a more complete weapons training should I go rifleman or machine gunner. Also how "jacked" are infantrymen compared to POGS, the reason I ask is b/c I workout 2x a day and would really like to keep this higher level of fitness I've had for several years.

I'm shipping out in a month or so so I would like to know if now is a good time to join. Serving under Trump I think would be honorable.

Attached: 8 007.jpg (640x640, 39K)

shipping to 11x OSUT soon. I'm engaged but not married just yet, and probably won't be married until later on. As a guy who's gonna be a few years older than the average age of your typical grunt, is it gonna be good for me to stay in the barracks for a few months to get to know my team and squad better? Or would it just be a better idea to go in already married and live on/off post away from the barracks

Join for what and what do you mean in your contract? You can sign and get a bonus maybe even a kicker but it is heavily dependent on contract type and rss

What is this from

You wanna go ocs but can't meet ASVAB reqs? Do you have a degree?

You ship out in a month and are just now asking if it's a good time to join? Doesn't matter now bub. You also aren't going to pick your mos but fitness should be easy to maintain once you hit the fleet. Dw about weapons training

So heading to the hotel now and I officially leave for RDC tomorrow. I'm excited but nervous. Cant wait to knock this shit out cause I got about 1-2 years of schooling after. Any advice before I go into basic training?

Correct me if im wrong but i scored a 114, which is good enough for army and 1 shy of usmc right? I have a degree too.

Ah disregard I thought you meant afqt. Idk ASVAB reqs for eligibility but they can't be too crazy. You'll probably get it no problem. Idk what your initial picture was from if it's from a fake practice ASVAB then you're probably fine.

Yeah its from a fake asvab. Idk if id wanna do marines or army tho. Which is better? Im in pretty good shape and do like 200 pushups a day plus either bench or squat or a 15mi bike ride 5x a week. How likely is it id pass?

0311

Just got back from AF reserve recruiter, she send me an email with Asvab test on it, should I cheat?

What do you mean? Like, i'd never be anything but a rifleman? Does studying not help?

I mean big picture wise like is the climate good to join the marines now. Another question how can I be seen as competent and respected. I'm 23 no college degree so do you have any tips on that as well as dealing with some cute female marines?

In NROTC at college. Studying marine engineering and planning on doing nuclear power school after I graduate. Is it worth it?

every marines a rifleman
but 0311's are basically super duper rifleman

>dealing with some cute female marines?
don't do this. avoid female marines like the plague.

Does it come w/ complimentary abbo juice?

Yeah but what do you mean. Are you saying that based on my score of a 114 without study I'd basically have to enlist? Or that I'm fit enough or not fit enough for certain things?

Why does every person say that? Surely there are traditional faithful women marines aren't there? You have any experiences with them?

Whats wrong with normal infantry?

dude you need to understand the following.
1. the women in the military are either sluts or ugly. no exceptions.
2. screwing or dating a female marine will lead to more problems than it will solve by a factor of 10.
3. your career can be completely destroyed by a female marine if she feels like it.
just date outside the military like a normal person.

1 Your wifes gonns cheat and so are you
2 How old are you? Chacnes are no one will care.
3 Its more money get BAH as soon as you can
4 If you arent going rasp youre wasting your time
No one has the boot camps memorized. What branch and job?
You cant cheat when you take the verifier so dont cheat now.
How new are you into researching this? Regular infantry is to busy moping grass and sweeping parking lots to worry about doing any actual infantry things atm. So if that sounds awesome to you then youre all set.

normal infantry these days are mopping grass, sweeping parking lots, and either not deploying at all or going to BS deployments like kuwait. if you're joining the infantry because you want action you're gonna be sorely disappointed if you become a run of the mill infantryman.
do at least an option 4 and preferably an option 40, because generally the higher speed your unit, the greater your chances of deploying, getting good training, working with good people, and not becoming an alcoholic mess.

Alright guys, last week on a whim, I took my afqt and got a 25. After studying for 5 days, I took the picat and got a 49. Going to meps on the 31st. This is for the guys who score low. Just keep fucking studying and your scores will improve. Also picat had lots of more topics and questions to cover.

I assume this is the same for other combat MOSs aswell right? I also had my eye on 15w or 91f but what if a war happened how difficult would it be to change MOS?

Someone drop me a line here...

What should my job wishlist look like? (Officer)

Infantry, Supply, Financial Management, Navy Nuke

This is the opposite of helping

Navy and AECF

I'm 26. My waiver won't let me get an op40 but I got op4 and intend on dropping a packet as soon as I can. Wedding is supposed to happen a few months after I get out of OSUT/airborne school. I take it that it'd be a good idea to get the legal part of marriage done and then just have the wedding as a formality later? I'll look into that.

>she's gonna cheat and so are you

That sounds good. Get the paperwork out of the way ahead of time.

Well, nobody knows what you want out of the military or what your career goals are and my telepathic powers happen to be turned off, so I don't know what you expected.

Are you that asian jew?
Get a pre-nup.

I was mainly looking for what to avoid unless I want to hate every waking moment of my life.

Since infantry is pretty much reduced to mowing grass, how hard/competitive/boring is it to join the armored units and command a tank?

But no one knows what you like/hate. Some people love handling paperwork and relaxing so supply might be good for you. If that sounds like a nightmare then avoid it.

I'm all white baby. No chink jew in me

Oh well maybe youll see him there cause he was shipping like this week and was in the same boat.
Anyway youll be fine, hope you get FC not ET. Thats later of course. Boot camp is easy peasy if youre not mentally unstable. Just dont fuck up when youre on watch and always lock your lock box thing.

That's a fair point well stated, but I was just asking for other people's narrow minded opinions.

Dude you didnt even say what branch youre joining. I mean how far in the process are you? Give us more details.

Enjoy safety wiring all the fucking nuts if you get in. That shit still gives me nightmares. On the other hand if you go fixed-wing enjoy other workcenters stripping all the fucking fasteners and cut a MAF for you to remove them and waste manpower on stupid things. The ride never ends. Still, rewarding to see your fruits of labor pay off as they get off deck (albeit only to see the pilot cock shit up and need you to fix things)

Army
Pre-MEPS

Well I was Navy so I cant help you but I just know in general the less gay shit you wanna do means you need to do harder shit. So if you go infantry you better pass ranger school and get into rasp or a SF team or some shit otherwise youll be commanding some leg unit on how to mop grass id imagine.

Just be infantry and tell your men you got kicked out of ranger school for being too good

kek

I refuse to believe someone actually laughed at this

this'll probably get me in a lot of shit in /meg/ but, im really trying to get a career going in security and was wondering if enlisting in the national guard and getting some experience under my belt as an MP would help at all? thanks bros

It gets you a lot of experience as a gate guard checking ID's and saluting officers.

What kind of security?

Can I marry my best guy friend for the past 5+ years to cash in on military benefits? We've literally been roommates since before I was 18, but we're straight.

Adultery is illegal if you're in the military. There's no way you're going to be allowed to bang chicks while you're married to your friend. At least not openly.

what would you suggest then, if any.
gonna try to get into a federal line of work with nasa or some such but i'm trying to build up a lot of experience for my resume before then, it's a long term goal.

Implying married men aren't fucking thai hookers on the governments dime right now? or will they just inspect me closer because I'm married to a man?

I'm in the process of re-enlisting after a cushy 6 year break. Should I marry my fiance before or after shipping for training? Didn't have the issue of females I wanted to marry before and was wondering if logistically it makes more sense now rather than later? My recruiter already has my packet and such, would it be much of a delay?

Just took my picat, I qualified for everything and there is an "Intelligence Specialist" position open. Sounds cool but I know not to trust recruiters too much. Any opinions?

No cluce but Im interested in your details. What branch and job before? What branch and job now? What made you want to go back in?

Look at the part where I said:
>At least not openly
If at your unit, you either don't mention being married or if you have to say you're gay, then sure, go ahead. You'll basically have to be a closeted straight guy because if anyone finds out you're not gay, then you could get fucked. That means no going to bars with your comrades, having to make sure everyone thinks you're gay, etc. If you can do that, and maintain that, then you'll be fine.
