Post G3s

I am a depressed Californian that does not foresee acquisition of my raifu in the near future. Can some Jow Forumsommandos post pictures of G3s, CETMEs, HK91s, or PTRs to cheer me up?

Are PTR's as hard on scopes as some people make them out to be, or is that only for really cheap scopes? I was looking at getting a mid-price variable leupold for mine so just wondering.

The irons are pretty ass on this thing sadly

Thats not a G3. Its a century piece of shit.
>railed receiver
no thanks
rare/10
Too bad the collapsible stocks are garbage and everyone knows it.

Should I get a PTR?
Would you say that G3s are on par with AR10s?
Which is more reliable?
How bad do they really chew brass?

Pls respond.

>century piece of shit
you're a faggot, they're built out of CETME kits, they're not brand new.

G3's are on par with or better/worse (depending on what's important to you) than AR-10's of an equal price point. However, if you later intend to upgrade parts on the AR-10 you can absolutely have a nicer rifle hands down, but it will be quite a bit more expensive.

The PTR is really terrible for weight distribution, but you can largely remedy that with a sling. You're pretty much stuck with a non-collapsible stock on the PTR as well, so it's a long gun. The PTR's iron sights are garbage imo. The PTR does damage brass but not as bad as people make it out to be. To be fair I think it's just because maybe they shoot it at a range with metal dividers and the brass comes out really fast and slams it so it gets dented far more often than if you can shoot in a place where it can just travel ~20 ft before hitting some dirt, so ymmv depending on where you shoot.

However, the PTR is very light-recoiling once you wear in the buffer in the stock. The trigger also lightens up a lot apparently in time, but I don't have a huge number or rounds through mine yet to notice a large difference in the trigger.

p.s. I don't have an AR-10, but I'm just assuming they're about as reliable as an ar-15, so if you clean it well you'll probably be totally fine. Still if you want to split hairs the PTR is probably more reliable. The moa is like 1.8 on a PTR. Idk what you're getting on a $900 AR-10, but like I said potentially you could upgrade the barrel and get far better moa than that on an AR-10.

If you want just 'the best' rifle get an AR-10. If you just want something inexpensive that scratches that .30 cal itch, the PTR is very nice, reliable, accurate enough and well worth the money.

You’re a fucking idiot OP if you think you can’t get a PTR in California, and clearly have never been to a gun shop to ask.

I’ve been shooting mine for 5 years now and mine was purchased in-state and at a Turner’s of all places, and if you think a screw on fin grip is a huge problem, you’re a retard that shouldn’t have access to the glorious HK goodness anyways.

So just buy a .22lr conversion kit and have a gunsmith put a rifle together for you with it. Remember, California's assault weapons laws specifically apply to centerfire rifles only. You can ignore all of them with a .22, so if you really want one, go that route:

It's the brand new parts that are the problem

If you're OP and you're in California, and you want a battle rifle, an M1A is the logical way to go. It's completely CA-legal, powerful, and reliable.

but does it eject brass out of the atmosphere?

you can get a ptr in cali aswell
just go out of state for those 20 rounders

Yes, it flings it far and wide. It's largely reloadable though if it's not slamming into something hard right after ejecting.

My comfy FMP made G3

Or buy from Atlantic Firearms for blocked 20’s and take the rivets ou.... I mean who would do such a despicable thing? I certainly have not done this several times

but then there's holes in it :(

You mean one small 6mm hole to have the mags delivered legally to your door? Sounds like you’re a little bitch

jeez man, who crawled up your butt and died

Not CA but still in a cucked state.
Do stores regularly carry less prevalent things like FAL or PTR or MP5 mags, or would I have to order it and then drive out there?
Would they give me shit seeing my area code or anything like that?

they dont have them anymore

Having to deal with idiots with a defeatist attitude such as yourself, you can have pretty much anything you want in Cali, if you’re patient and pay attention and do your homework unlike most of the people in this thread.

in a cuck state, finding uncommon or unobtanium mags is difficult. If your state prohibits high cap mag importation, they can't ship.

Right here man, 10/20s right to your door

if you think this shit is acceptable you are a cuck faggot

I'm not willing to spend 1500-2000 bucks on a springfield when PTR's cost only 900-1000, I just want Justice KKKavanaugh to fuck over Feinstein

Yeah I take ownership of this abomination, but not fault for buying somebody’s project cetme for cheap

So, has anyone tried one of the PTR32s? Basically a semiauto only HK32--an HK91 but in 7.62x39, using AK mags.

that top one is so pretty

Mt roommate had one for a while in the pistol configuration. It was a pretty fun novelty gun and ate all the shitty ammo he threw at it.

I can't tell you how well it would shoot with the rifle version, but I can't recommend the pistol unless you intend to sbr or use a good brace. I'd love to get one without the rail welded to the top, but I don't think they make a version like that anymore.

300 yard shots on 6 inch steel plate all day with junk ammo. It is fine and works. I find plastic mags to be consistently better than all the metal ones I had. Zero issues with plastic mags, misfeed every other mag with metals when I first got it. It is broken in now and haven’t had chance to retry with different metals, just lazy.

Pretty sure the AK Operators Union fucked around with one and IIRC it's solid.

Was it finicky about magazines? I hear that some of them only like plastic mags and metal mags fit them poorly or not at all.

Nice not!Spuhr build you got there

Bump

does PTR make their rifles completely new now? last i looked at them (about 2013-4), they were using surplus HK parts and just building the receiver upper or whatever the ATF considers the firearm.

Attached: upotte_cosplay_Jisuri15-10-13.jpg (530x348, 57K)

For a G3 or variant that would be the upper receiver.

>OP: "I want a G3!"
>Jow Forums: "Okay, here are two different ways you could do that."
>OP: "No! I don't want to do those things!"
Well, okay then.

> If you think this is acceptable you are a cuck.
That's not the point. You CAN still buy the rifle you want. It just comes with a small magazine and a fin grip. People shoot in the desert with 20rd mags they bought in AZ or NV and the fin grip removed all the time. It's an extra hoop to jump through for the rifle you want, but if you let that stop you you're an even bigger cuck than tge one who buys it.

The point of the laws is to discourage people from buying semi-automatic rifles altogether. They hated the bullet button and they hate the fin grip too, because that's how we show the leftie Sactards a collective middle finger.

It's like saying that the bullet button was bad. It was because the law that made it necessary was an abomination, but the BB itself made it easy to acquire the rifle you want. What you did once it was in your possession and nobody was looking over your shoulder was always up to you. If it was truly a bad thing we would be happy that it got banned, but I for one am not.

You dense motherfucker.

Youre a dick and no one likes you.

I like it, user. People will shit on it bc Century even though the barreled receiver is built by PTR and they use PTR's bull barrel and navy lower. Mine has been 100% reliable and I get

I would have went with a different wide handguard but I like it. It even has the receiver reinforced. Mucho elegante.

Ok. This is confusing to me. Why does some of your files read 'witcher'?

nickname of user who owns them

I'll probably sound stupid for saying this but, I would think that one could be built from a 100% receiver and a parts kit. You could even keep all the banned features, too, if the magazine is permanently fixed in the gun. Like how AR dudes pull it off in Cali.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=cltHQwhV7QM

AR-10s have a bigger aftermarket and are easier to find. To me, G3s are more simple in operation and maintenance, but they chew brass more than ARs

Like the whole debate between AR vs AKM, except without the mud test memes.

>registered it
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Btw
>10 rounds
But, I think there are mags out there that look like 30-rounders, but they are pinned to 10.

Personally, I think mag dumping a mag of more than 10 rounds is annoying. But for combat, it would be absolutely necessary. I would think that if everyone else on the range is cool with it, it's fine.

Just not my thing.

Sorry forgot to crop it. This guy is in basic training. Note the guys in the background have the new rifle, only the guy with the grenade launcher has a G3.

Interesting that Mexico stuck it out with a .30 caliber battle rifle while the rest of the world transitioned to .22 caliber assault rifles.
