Fascinating. Has a barracks ship ever been built before? Can they sell it off as an economy cruise ship or liner later? The similarity between it and an ordinary 20th century passenger liner should be extreme. Strategic sealift ships in the US come from and go to commercial use, due the Jones act though.

Depending on the construction and layout, you could totally refurbish a barracks ship into a traditional cruise liner. Bunks are communal so if the room itself is big enough you can turn them into large single-occupant private quarters.
Problem is how to get private bathrooms in. Maybe sell the experience of communal-only baths as a feature?
