Does this barrel look "good" to you

Need to know before possibly buying

Attached: pix072914133.jpg (567x425, 43K)

Looks fine.

Looks alright to me.

Seen much worse.

Have you wiped her down with linseed today?

You should see the bore on this Sestroryetsk. It’ll swallow the bullet if you put one a round in the bore, but still surprisingly shoots 3-4 inch groups at 100 yards, and doesn’t keyhole...yet.

Don't start that shit

What should I expect to pay for a K98 thats in average condition? Is it even worth it at this point?

Well have you?

Attached: image.jpg (4032x3024, 2.71M)

Which K98?

Mate I just got an RC for $590 shipped, any lower than that and you are pretty lucky. Now imagine after Battlefield 5 comes out.

Sorry for being a dumbass, not sure of different models. Basically standard war era manufactured with nazi imblems intact, typical shooter grade that doesn’t look too beat to shit. Don’t really care about matching numbers

LINSEED OIL

Attached: 1510188933160.jpg (400x400, 36K)

I need some more prewar guns. All I got for prewar is a Type 38 carbine and 1939 91/30.

Any suggestions?

Attached: garbage rod.jpg (3024x2268, 988K)

No problem, you can't know everything. Anyway, generally $600-900 for a shooter grade K98K. You might be able to find Yugo refurbs for less but they lack waffenamts and any German markings. I advise you to look around locally before turning to Gunbroker or god forbid Classic firearms.

Steyr M95 or a VZ. 24.

>Is it even worth it at this point?
What do you mean?
Pre-war Lebels.

How much does a 1884 Trapdoor go for these days? I keep seeing them sell for around $600 on GunBroker.

but I already have a frog rifle

Attached: hon hon hon.jpg (4032x3024, 3.89M)

Saw two for $500 at a gun show a few months ago. Almost made me wish I hadn't already bought one.

M96 Swede

That's a pretty good price actually.

Attached: GER - K98k.jpg (3796x738, 1.84M)

But that's not a Lebel, which is a must for any French collection.

You got an extra Lebel you want to trade for a beautiful 1939 Ishvek 91/30? I'll even through in a cosmoline filled oil bottle.

No. I HAD an extra Lebel but it was sold a few months ago to another user here.

>Mod.98/48
Hard no.

I really want one of these. Do you think I could get a gunsmith to make me one?

Would I be a butthole for sanding an unfinished M48A stock?

>eddystone
>m14

eddystone never made a p14 tard.

The problem is they did tho...

its literally an actual german k98 with a commie stamp you hard moron

Which means it's got no German left to it, and neither is it a proper Yugoslavian model.

Miss me with that scrubbed shit.

Attached: Yugoslavian_soldier_with_M48_Mauser_smells_the_clover.jpg (960x960, 149K)

1937 manufacture Chinese contract Vz.24. No import marks so it could be a vet bring back. All matching except for the bolt, which I've been told was replaced by the Japanese.

Attached: IMG_20180716_135210454.jpg (4032x3024, 3.91M)

mk more for me

It must be nice to be an ignorant, daft, mouth breathing fucking moron like yourself. God bless you, have fun while you bag groceries tomorrow.

They are solid rifles, with their place in history, and they usually are in good shooting shape.

But for purtnear $600 they can fuckoff. You can get RC's for that and less if you look. For a few hundred more you can still find proper bolt m/m kar98s,

Attached: 1-IMG_1264.jpg (800x502, 137K)

Except that it's a German gun, made in Germany, most likely with German materials, by a German worker, for German service. Mine has a few waffenamts they missed. More historically interesting than a standard late war rifle with war pigeons.

I've always wanted a bolt action style from around WWII. Nugget, kar, Springfield, Enfield
I don't care if it's actually from that era or all matching parts or any of that shit I just want a rifle that is in good condition and is the model or extremely close to it, like M48s.
What are my cheapest options?

>is actually talking about himself

damn bro.

how are mauser actions compared to other actions

The only other milsurp guns i have is a mas 36 and a nugget. thinking about getting a mauser

no u

Generally considered the best action ever devised.

Attached: 1-IMG_1269.jpg (800x533, 102K)

the mauser action is the basis for most modern hunting rifles. it's a very strong design with both front and rear locking lugs that can withstand some hot loads. it's also generally much smoother than mosin actions.

Unfinished?

Nice!

Mosin. Cheapest AND ammo is widely available and relatively inexpensive.

Attached: CHI - Type 24 Chiang Kai-Shek rifle.jpg (3774x617, 1.55M)

Buying a mosin soon. Am I right in thinking the accuracy/quality list is, from best to worst:

M28/30
M39
M44
91/30

Probably going for an M39 as the finish is usually really nice.

>inb4 'lel buying a mosin for accuracy'

Attached: a11c24c498f73e146a3509a7c4e9c06a.jpg (3500x2334, 424K)

Why would you expect the average an M44 be more accurate than an M91/30?

I would say that the M39 is in general more accurate than the M28/30. Accuracy is also largely determined by the ammo you are shooting. The finish on M39s varies, post war stocks tend to be "dry" while wartime stocks have that characteristic finn finish. I think you'll love an M39, they are good rifles.

Should have specified; Polish M44, I've heard good things about them.

Thanks mate, probably going to be hand loading some Privi ammo so I'm hoping for at least 4MOA

Bought this 200 or 250€ back in 2005. Only 2 parts with the same number on the entire thing, bolt head and extractor filed to take rimmed casings. How bad did I get ripped off?
The bolt is stored in a box, waiting for a new extractor

Attached: collage.jpg (1383x822, 219K)

i just bought a ras36 in a 308 barrel

did i fuck up? is it a good gun? does anyone have one?

Why a vz.24 and not a original German Mauser?

Where is the best place to get a Mosin for a decent price? Preferably a carbine.

No it isn't

Lol what? The fuck is this then?
>both front and rear locking lugs
No. This is wrong.
>Buying milsurp for accuracy
You're not gonna notice a large difference between any of them, especially if you only shoot shitty ammo.

You won't be paying the wehraboo tax.

$200 for a Type 53.

>looking for SCW used Mosin
>find one locally for $250.00

Fucking damnit.

New, never been hit with BLO or previously handled.

If it's never even been attached to a gun then do whatever you want.

>But CZ-82 from Sweaty Ben
>A week later they have a flash sale for $30 lower than what I paid

Also, Ben has Swiss Lugers in stock.

>$2200 for a Luger
Lol

no. it mostly will come down to the individual rifle and how worn or damaged it is. although 91/30s tend to heat up faster because of the longer thinner barrel and start shooting fliers when the barrel gets hot but i have a 91/30 that will clover leaf at 50 yards with milsurp ammo and another that cant shoot less than 4 inch groups at the same distance. finding a mosin with a perfect crown and good sharp rifling near the muzzle is going to get you a lot farther than shopping by model type

I too am a fan of overengineered rear sights.

Attached: Vz98_SG98_07-19-2018_F.jpg (960x1280, 996K)

Especially a swiss one

But it's SWISS! And a LUGER!!!!!

That's always a dilemma for me. Put in the effort to go get a paper towel or roll in the sheets and forget about it?

>Not wiping it up and licking your fingers clean.

It's like you don't even know about mana cycling.

keep one on the nightstand

what do you guys think the ATF/FBI thinks when they read these comments

The automated systems doing 99% of the work won't notice.

Hahahahahaha!

It'd be more believable if you said Taco Bell though. I would never eat at Burger King.

They probably find us relatable

hotspot your phone

Deny it all you want you degenerate shitter we got your number burger boii.

HI GUYS I WAS WONDERING IF A 1943 MOSIN NAGNT COULD BE ACCURIZED IN ANY WAY THAT WOULDNT AFFECT THE HISTORICAL VALUE CAUSE I WANNA USE IT IN COMPETITIVE THREEGUN SHOOTING OK THANKS BYS

Shimming the stock, keeping the action screws tight, using good ammo. It'll be accurate enough for 3 gun.

I think I'm falling in love with shortbois, they are so cute

I already have a Jungle LE and a FR8, I might start a collection
