Why haven't you taken the Titanium Nitride pill?

I went full retard guys. If nothing else I have eliminated the dreaded cylinder turn line because this shit is harder than the steel it's on top of. I LOVE GOOOOOOOOOOLD!

Also general revolver bread I guess...

Couldn't decide which image to use...so you get both...

Attached: 100_2415.jpg (2048x1536, 809K)

Because it's made of TiN, hehe

Honestly, I didn't even know it was a thing

Actually, that looks pretty slick

Read up on it this shit is tough. Used in all kind of industrial applications, medical devices etc. I had it done by these guys:

titaniumgun.com/

Turn around was faster than I expected and I'm really happy with the result. Pic related is how this gun came out of the box. You get the finish you start with so I spent 6 hours polishing shit before I sent it off. Grips on this pic are for a square butt that did fit, but I got some round butts anyway. :)

So that’s what it’s like when niggers own revolvers

It's all part of my defense strategy. Tyrone will be so distracted by the gold I will get all up in his OODA loop and pwn him.

Attached: 100_2425.jpg (2048x1536, 886K)

What did you use to paint the roll marks?

That's the way they came from the factory anonbro.

OP image is the better looking one.

I think you need a metal T-grip now

Is anyone currently making them in metal? I thought the Tyler t-grip folks were no longer producing even though their site is still up. No complaints about the one I got from BK grips. It fits and feels great.

>this shit is harder than the steel it's on top of
if that was true it would wear the bolt.....

i didn't even know tyler was shut down, but i will say some stainless or brass would look nice on there

And the trigger will wear the sear. I'm gonna find out how it holds up.

Oh and while being hard it also has a higher lubricity so offsetting maybe? I dunno like I said i'll see how it goes.

I have to admit. It's pretty cool. Congrats OP.

>no lock

ugh

Isnt that a good thing?

No it's super dangerous. Only tier zero operators with millions of dollars of government training can safely operate guns without locks. That's why pre-lock smiths are basically worthless on the secondary market. No one wants to take on the legal liability of having a gun without a lock.

Mother of pearl or better yet mammoth ivory grips on that heater... nao!

Have you considered damascene?

If you wanna buy me some mammoth ivory grips I'll for sure take them. I am toying with the idea of smooth elk antler though...bit more affordable...

Interesting article about Japanese police service revolver the S&W 360J.

thetruthaboutguns.com/2018/08/ttag-contributor/gun-review-smith-wesson-360j-japanese-service-revolver/

Considered it for what?

Attached: S&W 649-3.jpg (1200x953, 122K)

Nah, they'd do the whole gun, and use shiny polished gold plating or something. Or just hydrodip it with hundred dollar bills.

I work with TiN hourly, and it will corrode. Don't get your Hope up and don't expect it to last without very regular TLC.

>Not going with black nitride
Black nitride gives a nice dark black color. Gold is for niggers who want to look flashy.

Attached: aprh100615_ar15_556_black_nitride_1.jpg (546x342, 13K)

There's been thorough testing of TiN in dental applications and it has shown to improve the corrosion resistance of stainless steel and nickel titanium orthodontic wires. I'm sure the stainless steel parts I had coated will do just fine. I mean I don't even keep them in my mouth...often...

Does the trigger pull feel any different?
I was thinking about doing the trigger on my 442 since I don’t like the factory finish.

Attached: 338D3755-78C6-44A1-95CE-587C1A2BEF4B.jpg (3448x2982, 3.42M)

Gun was already slicker than owl shit before I had anything coated so I can't say I notice any difference.

>no hammer
Hombre...

Small DAO guns are for pros who practice user. noguns larping faggots are the only people who think you need a hammer on a defensive gun.

Attached: 1515627831929.png (242x209, 6K)

how much did it cost

great job, now your gun looks like a drill bit

Attached: image_22636.jpg (1200x1200, 231K)

I've got a normal 442-1 (lockless), this looks awesome OP. Is it functionally better too? Do kinda want...payday makes me irresponsible

Only spinny gun I own.

Attached: IMG_20180722_081438.jpg (3036x2419, 2.1M)

Here's the exact gun I bought from the same seller:

gunbroker.com/item/779813385

Paid $97 for the TiN coating of the cylinder, trigger, thumbpiece, and all the small screws except the yoke plunger assembly screw(it's not made to be disassembled and the heat of the coating process would ruin the tempering of the spring).

Looks like you've been using regular screwdrivers on the screw next to the grip of your SSR.

Pic related is for that retarded faggot in one of the recent revolver threads who though a 24" group at 10yards was "pretty good for a snubnose". Target on left is 5 rounds of 130gr+p HSTs. Slow fire, staged DA. Target on right is rapid fire of my own 158gr handloads. 7-8 yards-ish.

Functionally there's no difference in the trigger pull or anything but this shit is hard so a very durable finish for a carry gun. And no cylinder turn line means it will be pretty too. I can report that you still need lead cloth to remove the carbon/lead deposits on the front of the cylinder but it shines like new afterwards.

Attached: 100_2440.jpg (2048x1536, 621K)

Oh one note....they will do a burnished finish unless you specify otherwise. The coating is so thin that you will get the finish you start with ie if you send a high polish part and tell them to coat AS-IS you will get a high polish back. So you are gonna be polishing your shit if you want a finish like I got plus I started with stainless steel parts...

Oh the black bulls are 6".

It was purchased used actually, I should replace that buggered screw.

That's smaller than average, isn't it?

20 yards staged DA with the SSR. 158 grain .357 mag.

Attached: IMG_20180728_113601.jpg (3036x4048, 3.38M)

This is what I tried to explain to that noob. You can get damn good with a DA trigger if you put in the work.

Attached: externally.jpg (404x386, 82K)

It also helps if you don't have a 16 pound gritty J-frame trigger with a hump.

Why haven't you taken the STFUpill? Also you should have stylized it as TiNiPill, you fucking boomer YEAH BOOMER USA (energy drink shilling). The fact that you're using a revolver fully establishes your 14 year old boomer status.

Attached: OP.png (396x224, 197K)

And I gotta say this fully enclosed hammer design is now my favorite style of J frame. You can get so high on the gun that recoil is in damn near a straight line.

Sweet

I wish I had a trigger pull gauge cause my new snubbie has a sweet fucking trigger. All I did to it was put in a 13lb trigger reset spring.

Ssh, adults are talking. Back to your room

Your mom has a hump

Yep. I had a model 60 lady Smith for awhile that I shot as well as the SSR.

He mad he ain't got no GOLD in his life y'all. Stay mad!

Go back to the VA, grandpa.

Attached: mcx.png (534x318, 370K)

Forgot pic.

Attached: IMG_20171206_091637_01.jpg (1944x2592, 982K)

I know those grips are probably comfy but goddamn they are ugly as fuck.

Is that a CZ 75 below it? It looks beautiful? Is it custom engraving?

Attached: what-hump2.gif (500x272, 611K)

>very hard and durable
Perfect. My big concern was the cylinder and barrel actually, because they are carbon steel and I live in a humid climate. Prone to rust.

Cylinder turn line? Like where the little dingus connected to the trigger turns the notch at the back of the cylinder?

Yes, no, and no.

>Cylinder turn line?

The line on the cylinder made by the bolt dragging between notches. pic related.

Attached: GPwear2.jpg (600x450, 35K)

You're the one getting defensive here.

Attached: 1952-Formula9.jpg (480x640, 60K)

it's fucking expensive for not enough benefit. I bought a desert eagle and was planning on getting it coated, but I can think of better ways to spend $500.

I see you're being a nigger to others in here, senpai, just let it out.

I got rid of the dreaded cylinder turn line on my revolver by having the cylinder catch on the back of the cylinder, not the sides.

Was only $97 to get done what I had done. Worth it to me for the lulz alone.

>If nothing else I have eliminated the dreaded cylinder turn line
You've delayed it.

What are you saying? The finish going to fall off? It is going to degrade in hardness over time? Got personal experience with TiN coated revolver cylinders?

When I polished the cylinder prior to coating I fucked up and dry fired it 5 times...had to polish it some more as a single pass over the bolt was enough to mark the stainless steel cylinder. I ran 105 rounds through the gun today and there's nary a blemish on the cylinder.

>I have eliminated the dreaded cylinder turn line because this shit is harder than the steel it's on top of

So now the Clynider is wearing down the pin and it will eventually not lock up?

I must confess a sin. I know hamerless revolvers are more practical but u can never own one because they look so bad

No idea how it's gonna play out long term. I'm gonna find out though.

If something has an actual application or beneficial properties, I don't mind if it's a little flamboyant or trashy. I would give anything to find someone who will do gold work on teeth. If I had some gold inlays and a couple crowns, I would pretty much never have to worry about decay so long as I kept caring for my teeth. Good gold work on teeth could last a lifetime, so nothing wrong with ensuring your revolver looks good for a lifetime as well.

I need to take another picture.

Attached: 442.jpg (1152x2048, 535K)

>dreaded cylinder line
It's a gun you autists, it's a tool. It's meant to be used. It's going to show wear. Those are signs of good use. Of tender range time.

Cylinder gap, and a loss in efficiency is so stupid a flaw in Revolvers that I will not buy one until someone makes a modern gas sealed revolver.

>not wanting your tools to be aesthetic
I bet you don't spend hours cleaning your ratchet set after using it for 15 seconds to tighten a single loose bolt on something around the house either, pleb.

How much should I shell out for a nugget revolver? I'm think somewhere within the $200 range but god only knows what the boomers selling the things would sell them for.

gunbroker.com/Revolvers/search?Keywords=nagant&PageSize=96&Sort=4&View=1

People who claim a hammer will grab on the pocket don’t know how to draw from the pocket

$0 if they sweeten the deal with a bunch of ammo and maybe a holster
for just the gun they should pay you to take it

>this shit is harder then the steel it's on top of

It isn't. It wore off of my blacklist barrel within the 1st week.

>blacklist barrel

Lawls you bought something from a literally who.

Enjoy some gold porn:
instagram.com/titanium_gun/?hl=en

I bought Tyler grips about 4 months ago through their site. So as of 4 months ago they were active.

Dats true, I am a generous and highly trained man, so I am willing to pay $25 per no-lock dangerous S&W anyone has.

i dont get it
huheheheh

Attached: uhuhuhuhuhyousaidunit.gif (1024x768, 81K)

Most DOA is suppose to lock in both of those places.

Okay, I give up; what is it?

Being well used is aesthetic in any tool.

My meatball.

MY MAN! I was waiting for this, looks awesome, OP. From now on all black-and-gold revolvers are going to be called "user specials" in my mind.
