How many magazines per weapon is enough?
How many magazines per weapon is enough?
All of them.
n+1
The more the better obviously.
6 mags of rifle rounds of intermidiate rounds (5.45x39/5.56x45/7.62x39) or 4 mags of full size rounds (7.62x54/7.62x51)
and
5 mags of pistol rounds
Are you fighting girl scouts?
real men only need one that's why on Califournia they have fixed non removable magazines
2
5-9 per rifle and 3 per pistol. more is always better
Are you poor?
Question is rather broad, but I'll try.
>>Are we going hunting for small/medium/large game?
>>How far and with what method am I moving said game? OR How far before the next outpost and what's between us and said oupost?
>>If we're flying with fixed/rotor wing aircraft we've got total weight to consider, along with it's distribution. Fuel considerations no matter air, land, or see.
>>What biome are we entering and what predators should I be aware of?
>>What weather are we expecting?
Less rural scenarios
>>Am I keeping pistol in my car in case of a mugging?
>>Am I working security for an individual who is high risk for kidnapping/extortion? Assassination?
If you're talking home security, I'd say three to six spare magazines spread equidistant from your/ spouse's spot in the bedroom, depending on the size of your home. Always choose a platform you're familiar with and trained on.
Remember the four most important rules, and you'll never get caught slipping.
7 for pistol, 15 for rifle.
Two full combat loads, plus a spare.
Until you feel like its enough. Don't judge your spending on the needs of others.
>anything with firearms
>"enough"
n+1 is always the answer.
But I'm pretty comfortable with 10 mags for rifles and 4 or 5 for handguns.
9
All of them
feed?
I have 64.
i don't follow
in total or just for the one gun?
Like 12 for a 5.45 ak and 8 for 7.62
As much as a SMERSH holds
As many as you can carry
never post again
10 IMO
I have like 20 mags for my AR because PSA just gave me 10 with a lower once. I usually take 10 to the range with me though. Makes it nice to not have to reload your mags while you're at the range.
6/8+1 for a rifle will suffice.
I run with 3+1 pistol mags on my gear, and 2 mags (1+1 spare) for my carry gun.
Everyone here says more is better and i'm inclined to agree, but there's a point where it's really just impractical. Like carrying 12 mags. Unless you are carrying them in a butt pack or in your actual ruck, it's really too much.
> make a speed ball
> take shitty back pack
> will with loaded mags
> add 7 for you kit
Profit?
You need some variety too. Like at least one 10 or 20 round 5.56 mag so you can shoot with a benchrest without a long mag getting in the way. Also some 5 round mags for large caliber rifles, in case you want to hunt with them and your state has limits on that.
8 mags on person 300
2 mags in ruck
15 stripper clips in ruck for reloads 150
300 rounds in a 30 cal ammo can
10 because that's how many mag pouches I stole from the army
Nobody's talking about carrying.
10 per rifle, 10 per handgun. if thats too much get a levergat or pump, something single or tube fed
owning?
in that case
around 100 for personal use
Carrying? As many as you can carry without weighing yourself down too much or getting in the way of your range of motion.
Owning in total? As many as you can afford without cutting into funds for other things you want to buy, stop when they threaten to take up too much space.
My rule of thumb is 2x what you would carry on your person.
>30 G3 mags
>20 AK mags
>6 GLAWK mags
This is my Mk12.
And these are about 3/4 of my mags for it. I could only fit 33 in the Pelican case. I have I think 44.
Minimum of 3 for double stack handguns. I like to carry this many when carrying a single stack 9mm. But stockpile as many as you can.
Rifle, unlimited. Practically, more than 6-8 30 round mags gets heavy. But 6-8 should be the bare minimum you should take with your rifle. Back home you should stockpile as many 30 round mags as possible.
Minimum of 7 for a rifle, if a sidearm and sidearm mags can be done away with for more primary mags do so.
One more. Always one more
I have more than 20 30 round mags, a mix of PMAGs, Lancers, MFT, a 40 round PMAG, two 10 round PMAGs, two 20 round PMAGs.
No aluminum ones though. Should I stock up on them?
You only shoot 10 mags when you go to the range?
My rule for thumb is 30 for major rifles like ar's and AK's and 12 for each handgun or PCC. but my fetish is large amounts of mags soo
Enough to hold ~300 rds in a rifle/carbine
4+1 magazines for a pistol
just fucking go ham if you use clips
/thread
Formerly Chuck's.
Depends on what you plan on doing. For an infantryman on patrol, probably 10+1 would be a good start. I carried 7 on person and another 5 plus spare saw and 240 belt in pack. More importantly, how many socks and woobies is enough?
>using magazines
>not loading each cartridge manually by hand after every discharge
Fpbp
>1. Treat all guns as if they are always loaded
What if you've just checked that's it's not
>never let the muzzle cover (gun point at)
Why not just say >never let the gun point at
Whats that rotary mag for on the right?
10/22, have you never seen one before?
Ausfag, even 10/22 are banned here
sorry bro
I get bored after putting 300 rounds downrange.
Stephen Paddock 2
What you've got is perfectly sufficient for any low-impact civilian use- cycling through 20-odd PMAGs will last them at least as long as your barrel. But mag bans can move fast, so it's not a bad idea to spread your risk around. OKAY mags are the cream of the aluminum crop and Botach's currently running a $10 special on Surefeed E2s(depending on your taste for stippling and billboarding) with free shipping and handling.
Depends on your purpose.
~10 on you? You're going after Predator or are woefully unprepared for the range.
Truck gun? Depends on law. Being Texan rocks so I have a few in there.
Hunting? Probably one or two. Unless you're going after hogs. Then take your whole collection with you. Murder em all.
Concealed/Open carry? Probably only need the mag in your gun, but carry another if you can manage.
Your personal collection? Literally All. Of. Them.
