I figured I ought to make this thread as a continuation of the previous one, but take it in a slightly different direction.
What are some of the potential applications of a project MARAUDER type weapon system? Some off the top of my head >AAA As more and more planes used "relaxed stability", shutting down their electronics could knock the plane out of the sky. It's hard to evade something travelling at single digit percentages the speed of light. Ground based, so energy requirements are mitigated >MBT Coaxial armament Anything with enough energy to create X-days capable of frying electronics is probably enough to fuck over the crew of any tank. A modern day, plasma based HESH-style weapon would be interesting. >CWIS Placed on a ship, so energy requirements are mitigated. With a large torpid of plasma, several meters in diameter, hitting an incoming missle is made easier as a single shot saturates an area. Knock out the guidance systems, and you're probably in the clear.
I don't foresee the solider of the near future toting around a plasma rifle in the 40W range anytime soon, but em placed weapons used specifically against enemy hardware is probably the most effective use of this tech.
So did this little project ever get around to looking at how the flying fuck they'd make a puff of superheated gas travelling at ridiculous speeds maintain coherency over any distance whatsoever in air? Because we got both entropy and the common gas law glaring murderously at this.
Oliver Adams
squad served weapons capable of taking out thousands of people in one blast and infantry weapons capable of killing dozens at a trigger pull
Gavin Cruz
Apparently they did, but it was "canceled" the next fiscal year, so idk, you tell me
Charles King
Sounds like someone got saved by the bell.
Jack Peterson
What about Chinese black projects?
Ian Mitchell
I would be interested in hearing about those. I bet most of them are ripped ideas from other sources.
Jacob Ross
As is tradition.
Ryan Green
It wasn't cancelled. Basically: at the start it was unclassified because no one expected it to work or do much. After the initial tests at two government labs, Los Alamos and AFRL everything about it was immediately classified and never spoken of again.
Christian Bennett
that sounds similar to how israel "stopped" their racially discriminatory bioweapon development
Nicholas Parker

The dynamics of a stable plasma are essentially a glorified smoke ring.
Josiah Watson
elaborate?
Is that how they're going to eventually kill the white people?
Luis Mitchell
no i'm sure they wouldn't use it to kill smart goys and enslave the dumb subservient ones, they would only use it to reclaim their rightfully owned holy land from the filthy palestinians and if you disagree, you're a muslim goatfucker pedo
Ethan Johnson
>ripped Lol no. It's 'improved upon'. Chinese projects generally are better than their western counterparts.
Easton Barnes
>such as...
