Much of that is really aid to American defense contractors as much as it is aid to Israel, though, since it's in the form of buying shit from American companies and then sending it over there.

This isn't FCS, and supposedly the Abrams block III that was described in the ASM program was planned to be a good bit lighter than the M1A2. My point was that any time we develop a new piece of hardware, it's either scrutinized obsessively by people that have no business doing so ( congress) or cancelled because the DoD wants some retarded new warfighting strategy that ends up stunting our forces for a decade.
