I'm looking to get a Molle 2 pack. Should I go for large or medium? Thanks in advance.

Large, but honestly I’d take a large Alice pack first.
I’ve used both inna Army btw

Whats the longest you guys have ever waited on a piece of gear to arrive?

2 years

No counting stuff that’s back ordered, I ordered some leather stuff from some place like the Ukraine or some shit for my 336 that took maybe 2 months from the time I ordered it.

Is the alice pack more durable? I'm also using a battle belt and harness. Thanks for the advice and service by the way.

There is so much wrong in this picture.

What bothers you?

You airshitters need to die.

not really. one of my favorite games to play with russian gear pics is "real or airshit" and 9 times out of 10 i cant tell the difference. their gear is just shit and fits like shit outside of the upper echelons who actually do shit, and thats because they all rock western kit

Nothing in that picture is airshit user
This. Russians are switching to a lot of systems that can take western sapi plates. Indigenous or otherwise. Russian operators make like no money, they can buy ops cores legally and they want to but they can't afford it on their salary.

dayum oxide I didn't know you posted on Jow Forums

Alice pack is still an all around good pack. Make no mistake.... There is better modern stuff, but it doesn’t mean Alice is bad. They are tough as nails and can carry a ton of stuff.
Cheers M8

why isn't all your shit in ranger green?

Attached: gear2.jpg (1616x2171, 515K)

Don't encourage me. I come here to be hated on for no reason.

who cares, half the people here are shitters anyway. Love the videos.

The medium Alice pack is actually quite small. Definitely go with a large, which still isn't that large. Here's mine on a trip to the Rockies. Shoulder straps are custom I made.

Attached: IMG_0424 (1).jpg (1000x750, 518K)

do you have the frame for it? thoughts on using with and without frame?

Yeah the frame is in the pic... also you can't use a large without the frame because it doesn't have the rings at the top to attach straps to like the medium. If you're humping a heavy load you need a frame and waist support.

oh shit my bad, good to know though.

I've been thinking of finding a way to hide a long gun on one of my son's single or double stroller.

i want to go innawoods to off grid lakes on the local wildlife management land and camp out and fish. i need a cheap backpack, tent, and a good pair of boots. anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks M8.
I'm still looking and have considered a lerge molle 2 pack. Am I better off buying new for $175 or used-like new. I'm also considering ALICE large but I've heard it's not very comfortable. I plan to pack less than 50 IBS of gear in my chosen pack since I'm distributing the weight with my belt.

Any of you lads have experience with Lowa Renegades vs the Zephyrs?

Would ranger green shirt and pants with a multicam pc work well enough in the jungles of south carolina or should I go full queer and get tropic

Should work fine.

Hi gang, a little overwhelmed by the amount of holster companies and options each one has. I have a Shield I sport around in the summer but I have probably the most useless garbage cloth holster on the planet, it was given to me for free and I see why but it does keep the firearm completely concealed even in shorts and a plain, somewhat fitting white tee. At worst it looks like a belt buckle protruding. I'm just curious what a thin kydex holster that keeps the gun low to the beltline is for appendix carry.
Sidecar style holsters are cool but maybe still too much going on for this approach, prefer minimalist style holster and mag pouch that I can keep separate. One clip (on the holster) or two would be fine but the gun is incredibly light and I don't think I need extra stuff wrapping all around me to distribute the weight.

I was starting to see a lot of stuff for the Bravo DOS but they're only doing right-handed right now. Also, how does tuck carry work? Isn't there still a clip over your belt?

The MOLLE-2 pack sucks. The plastic frame is a nightmare and for all the work you do to set it up it isn't much better than ALICE. The pack itself is almost comically huge. If a pack is as huge as the MOLLE-2 it should be a vertical configuration, but the MOLLE is instead just a big round blob.

I'm not the biggest lover of ALICE gear, and wouldn't recommend it universally, but if you're balling on a budget, ALICE is better than MOLLE-2. I'd actually recommend the medium pack, especially if you're topping out at 50lbs of gear, but that's just me. What you can do is buy an ALICE pack, and then buy the shoulder straps from a MOLLE-2 pack and attach them to the ALICE frame (youtube videos guide how to do this). I have found that the MOLLE-2 straps are firmer and do a better job than the ALICE GI straps.

>oxide
I would trust this guys word when it comes to Russia
Also what does /gq/ think about partizan harnesses? Mine feels real comfy for inawoods operations

8 magazines and the ability to still go prone is nice

Any criticisms/suggestions for setup? I've been struggling to find a better spot for the dump pouch and have also been wondering how tactical vests are in conjunction with the party harness.

yeet

Attached: JPEG_20180817_221338.jpg (3456x4608, 1.97M)

I just returned magazines backed into the pouches. Never used dump pouch. What I saw some people do is get an extra butt pouch and put it on their leg and use that.

Oh lad, you've got to rethink that rubber band attachment layout. And put those sheers behind other stuff because they're prone to go flying where they are.

>Oh lad, you've got to rethink that rubber band attachment layout
why

There's no way it won't shake loose as the band weakens even a little bit, as it looks to do by bouncing all over the place in it's current configuration.

If you're going to do the rubber band TQ thing, just attach it vertically and double loop the bands to keep it tight against the vest like everybody else does.

Attached: not mine but you get the idea.jpg (1080x1031, 133K)

>There's no way it won't shake loose as the band weakens even a little bit, as it looks to do by bouncing all over the place in it's current configuration.
I inverted the plate carrier and shook it vigorously for like 5 minutes. Literally no movement of the shears and the TQ is still attached and centered. It's fine.

Anybody know of any vests that are similar to this one but not airshit?

Attached: Vest-Valken-Plate-Carrier-LC_media-1.jpg (250x250, 14K)

& I'm pretty much just looking for something that's laser cut molle, not a ton of unnecessary materials, and either doesn't have a cummerbund or has one that's just straps.

Trying to have something with a very minimal amount of bulk but still has ways to attach stuff.

>5 minutes

Ok. When you’re out and about and your TQ disappears because the bands loosened, think on arranging in vertically.

Looking to pick up a plate carrier so I don't have to wear an IOTV during CSTX. What's a good carrier that would be army compliant? I was told it has to be multicam OCP, have front. Rear, and side plates, and be MOLLE.

Pic sorta related cause army

Attached: FB_IMG_1533036916226.jpg (704x659, 92K)

Maybe a grey ghost gear pc?

First question: Are they letting you get away with a plate carrier, or does it have to be a BALCS soft armor compatible carrier?

It has to fit the Level IV SAPI plates and have MOLLE. That's the only instruction I received

For general use and larping, D3CRM or Spiritus?

You get more options with the spiritus desu

direct action gear makes one that looks similar to that, but first spear shit might be your best bet for lowest pro without being shit

spiritus
haley shit is costa tier

Are spiritus systems plate carriers any good?

Attached: IMG_20180608_152910810_LL~3.jpg (3274x2482, 2.03M)

literally the lamest meme copies of the same boring swiftclip compatible carriers that have been around for years already

for some guy who keeps shitting on china for copying his products, spiritus systems isn't a very original guy

But it comes in multicam tropic

One of the things that's turning me on to the d3 is the kydex mag inserts and zippered gp pouch. I dont want a fuckton of velcro

Condor MOPC. Trap approved.

Is grab the PIG MOLLE PC. I wore it for a deployment and really liked it. It’s tough, the shoulder strap adjustment system makes sit well, and the split front on the cummerbund is a surprisingly handy quality of life feature.

How long does it take HSGI to ship? I've been waiting 5 days now...

Does anyone have any tips to keep an FLC from shifting while you are running?

Tighten it

Adjust the straps so that it sits evenly with the camo MOLLE section just above your hips. Don’t put any significant weight on the front chest part, use only the camo MOLLE area to stick any pouches bigger than admin or compass.

Guys, is there a modern, QUALITY, equivalent to the old ALICE H/Y harness available in solid, non-meme colors? I’m not crazy about chest rigs, and I don’t always wanna wear a heavy assed PC.

So are you going to change your fuckin name every time you switch camo?

So its going to be a shitty rig to run any kind of gear? I was hoping to use it in place of a chest rig because it has a decent amount of molle space

It works better than people give it credit for. You can load up a ton of gear along the waistline, which gives you as much/more than a chest rig.

People get tempted to cram a bunch of stuff up high in the chest just because there is MOLLE. I’ve seen people stick rifle mags or IFAKs up there and then wonder why the vest was sitting weird.

Attached: 38600B40-F961-42A5-8450-47B873D9DCC8.jpg (4032x3024, 2.76M)

I put a tourniquet in that same location, except I used a boot blousing band. It snagged on my rifle literally a mile into my first hike with it there and got ripped out.

Attached: lv-mbav.jpg (2185x3001, 3.18M)

Has anyone used the d3crm mag inserts in a spiritus? I wanna know if they'd work or if they're too tall/short

Where u at

I doubt it would work. You could put them in there without the spiritus mag insert, but you would have way to much lateral movement with the mags, and the d3 inserts aren’t going to stay in the spiritus mag insert.

Attached: D6C8D7CC-720A-462D-B46F-1CC8A40EEBF0.jpg (1535x2048, 650K)

i agree the inside of the spiritus's main pouch it's not designed to retain the d3 inserts. it might work if you wrap sticky back male velcro around them tho.

Not the mp2 inserts but the actual nylon pouches haley sells that has the mp2 inserts

These

Oh, hadn’t seen these. Those will probably work. Thanks for helping me spend more money, man.

All my shit is ranger green, user.

Repro fairbairn sykes?

Where in sc? Aiken here

Hey /gq/ I'm about to buy a ruck once and for all.
Do I get this
Molle II medium Grade 1
midwayusa.com/product/742879/military-surplus-molle-ii-medium-rucksack-complete-assembly

Alice pack Large
armynavysales.com/made-in-usa-large-od-alice-pack-new.html

Alice Medium
armynavysales.com/gi-medium-od-alice-pack-new.html

Thanks for the advice.

Tell me more about what you are going to be carrying and using it for so i can help you choose one.

also do not buy that army navy sales shit. the large alice they are selling is a repro.

qm-supply.com/product/alice-backpack-large-with-frame/

if you end up getting a large get it from this guy. he is a great dude and will probably send you some freebys with your order.

qm-supply.com/product/alice-backpack-medium/

qm-supply.com/product/alice-backpack-frames/

you could probably save money buy getting the frame somewhere else but no one on the internet has better prices than this company.

Thanks!
I want something that will not hinder my battle belt. I want something that'll carry my extra clothes, food, sleeping bag etc. Basically a lightweight bug out bag. Which bag will suit my needs? Large or medium alice or molle? Also should I buy new or like new? Thanks again bro, this has been bugging me for a while.

>I want something that will not hinder my battle belt.

this is not how rucks with frames and waistbelts work. The pads on the alice pack sit at on your hips and buckle around your waist. I'm not gonna say you couldnt do it but it's not going to depend on your battle belt. If its a padded molle battle belt its probably not even going to work. As you can see in my image right on yourbelt line where you should be wearing your battle belt there is gonna be waist straps. The issue with this is two part in the sort term it will be uncomfortable, during long term use preassure/friction could cause sores to develop on your sides which would be ass. the molle pack would probably be even worse because it has a much wider waist belt.

Attached: 1024_1_2.jpg (1024x1024, 125K)

Are there any packs out there that'll haul my stuff and not interfere with my belt? Thanks by the way.

the alice pack was made to be used with an alice belt and suspenders but they are pretty thin and you don't mount a buttpack or anything bulky on them when you do use it.

the medium alice would probably fill your role the best out of the ones you listed. the waist strap i thinner and the pad at the back sits a bit higher so you have more room to work with it.

Attached: GUYSINALICE.jpg (800x533, 107K)

i mean any normal backpack will work but carrying more than 30 or 40lbs without a frame is fucking uncomfortable. You really want a frame and a waist strap. people who actually ruck as a general rule don't wear anything on their belt line. It's dont specifically because wearing a pack with a waist strap unobstructed is the only way to make wearing a heavy pack long term suck less.

Not if you want to carry much stuff. The weight of a pack is supposed to rest mainly on your hips, which is why packs have big padded hip belts. You can comfortably wear a low profile belt under a pack, but you can't really carry anything on it.

definately no kydex pouches either. so no kiwis or tacos or anything under a packs waistbelt.

Where did you get that Kiver?

I cant stand to have anything on my belt when i have a pack on. Whatever i put something on my belt it digs into me. Just my 2c

Attached: SoMuchRoomForAccessories.jpg (1080x1080, 411K)

You can wear it with a Gorka-C and use the kangaroo pouch as dump pouch.

And this is why leg extenders and droplegs are a thing. I know people hate them, but properly set up they work. A single strap high riding dropleg for a pistol, and an extender on the opposite side can load you up with a bit of gear that clears the beltline.

I know people always say "But haha try and go run with it on!" and I have. It's not that bad. Obviously you aren't dropping a full load on the leg, but a pistol on one side (especially something lighter like a Glock), and a single rifle mag + pistol mag or IFAK isn't that bad. You can certainly sprint with it on, and doing a long distance ruck is doable as long as the subload is juuuuusssst low enough to clear your ruck and still placed high on the thigh.

Attached: example.jpg (1038x828, 181K)

wearing a drop leg with a leg strap while going over any distance with a heavy pack is fucking cancer. wear the fucking thing on your chest like a normal person. people who do this shit for a living don't wear subloads for a reason.

Direct Action Gear from Poland. It's better than you would expect from eastern Europe. Superpower by 2020?

>people who do this shit for a living don't wear subloads for a reason.

But I wore it while doing dismounted work and a ruck a lot. Wear it high on the thigh and tight, and don't aggressively overload it and it's fine.

Serious, Jow Forums has a hateboner for any dropleg ever. That's developed from people wearing them way too low and using loose crap. If you want to appeal to "guys who do it for a living" go look at how many dudes are rocking single stap droplegs. Not everybody, of course, but enough to show that Jow Forums is suffering from being in a self enforcing extreme bubble.
