Air superiority is all that matters. You could argue that the F-35 won't be able to carry it's own weight, but at the end of the day all that matters is that it's better than what the other guys have.
As it stands, the only folks I'd be afraid of would be China and Russia, and probably China more-so since they'll be more apt to copy the F-35 than anything.

The storm thing is just safety clearances for peacetime and it's true of other military aircraft as well.
The accuracy thing is well overblown (by these standards the US had no aircraft that could accurately engage ground targets 10 years ago) and won't matter in about 2-3 years when the eots gets upgraded.

Most of a pilots time is spent flying in straight lines at 1g, unless the pilot finds an iPad too mentally strenuous to use during commercial flights I think they will be fine.
