For starters, your pic does have the shoulder thing that goes up.

in what situation?

a spas is not something you’d think of for bird hunting

You don't have to aim the damn thing, it spreads everywhere

>Fudd lore: the post

>using the sights on any weapon
what a faggot

this

just point in the general direction, like if the bad guy is standing to the west of you, just point the damn thing west and the spread will take em out

**sip**

Being able to blow a door apart and kill everyone inside a house with the same tool has it's advantages. It's a speciality tool meant for killing the shit out of tyrone in a home environment with enough power to incapacitate a target without needing follow up shots.

please shoot a metal lock with 00 buck at point blank and report back what happens

Versatility.

Rifles only shoot bullets.

Shotguns can fire:
-Birdshot for birds and small game.
-Buckshot for home defense and social work.
-Slug for hunting, dangerous game protection, and longer range.
-Beanbag/rubber/taser for non lethal force.
-Frangible for door breaching.
-Exotic like fletchette, fragmentation, dragon breath, confetti, and others.

It’s one gun that isn’t the best at one thing but it can do it all.

>he thinks the lock would survive the blast
lmao most of the locks available to the public are soft as shit

What advantages do rifled shotguns have over bird shots other than hunting?

oh yeah I forgot that shitty steel on locks means that lead won’t bounce off of it and hit you in the face

Longer range target practice

>what is eye pro

Longer range target practice

You can use them to hunt deer in states that ban modern rifles during firearms season.

Maybe the birds are clever girls.

even a 1-inch wide circle makes a hit much much more likely than a single shot

its not to the same degree as seen on TV, but it can be a very significant increase to your probability to hit

buckshot is objectively superior for hunting predators and hogs within its effective range. It would obviously be overall more effective on deer too but its a nono and its not like you need it.
>b-but you can just shoot them 3 times
Or not. You could not do that.

Shotguns are similarly better for any applicable small game. Its very very ironic that there is a "why do you larp" thread up right now. Hunting is the most popular actual use for firearms, and shotguns dominate.

Try using rifled barrel. It spreads like crazy.

But what state are deer in that modern rifles must be banned for the hunting season?

>what are dust busters
(Here’s a hint. It’s highly compressed slugs made from lead powder used for specifically breaking locks and hinges)

ohio is the biggest one

I don't think he meant a magazine loaded with all the same shells

Come to think of it, an ideal order would be
>Breaching shot to gain entry
>Dragon's breath to startle and entertain
>Buckshot to kill
>Confetti to celebrate

You will never see an entry guy shoot a confetti shell over your dying body just before you pass out from blood loss.

Putting butts in seats, nothing short of a magnum rifle cartridge will cause as much raw tissue destruction as a load of buckshot. Makes up for imperfect accuracy, you still need to get on target but in the real world the vast majority of people do not possess an anatomically meaningful degree of accuracy. They put shots on the chest area and theres a world of difference between a shot that just hits lung tissue and one that hits the heart or a major blood vessel like the aorta or pulmonary vessels let alone the spine. Shotguns spread makes up for this to a large degree, particularly with higher shot density loads like #4 or #1, they spread a few inches before hitting the target and then continue to spread afterwards. Specialty loads, less lethal and breaching mostly, but not a real concern for most folks. In rabidly liberal areas a wood furniture shotgun seems much less threatening, IIRC at least one study has been done showing that jurors tend to recommend higher sentences when "assault weapons" are involved in a crime.

>rule of thumb is buckshot spreads aprx 1" per yard, but some loadings spread more and others spread less
>ergo can tailor spread to your own situation creating a several inch pattern at your longest possible HD distances, or keep it at only a few inches at 25yrds with flightcontrol loads
>with a single pull of the trigger and in a fraction of a second you can hit a bad guy with 16-24 30 caliber projectiles in an impossibly tight grouping, like unloading an entire magazine of ball ammo from a klobb in .1s
The real question is what tangible benefit does a rifle offer over a shotgun other than reduced recoil for the terribly recoil sensitive. Needing 30rnds on tap, engaging point targets at 500m, and penetrating body armor are all non factors in the real world.
