If only LMT got into the FAL business. DSA needs the fire lit under their asses.
What's a non-shit optic that also won't send me into bankruptcy?
elaborate on what non-shit means for you.
Also eloborate on what wont send you into bankruptcy
Get you a Poverty Pony optic
The FAL is essentially dead user.
It's a walking corpse, the only reason it's still in service with some nations is because they're too poor/stupid to buy a new rifle.
>its not magnified
G3, aug, let alone slavshit still in service for the same reason.
Are you afraid /ARG/?
Good to go red dots listed in increasing price order:
PA MD RB AD
PA MD ADS
HS503G
HS503GU
Aimpoint PRO
HE530G-RD
Eotech EXPS 3-x
Aimpoint T2
Aimpoint CompM5
That poverty pony optic is unironically a higher quality piece than your truly poverty $25 shit red dot.
Should /arg/ be?
what wugwus said
>Eotech EXPS 3-x
what's the big difference between the 2 and 3 line of Eotech? Primaryarms has a small sale going for them right now.
EXPS3 has night vision setting
EXPS2 doesn't
You should check the MSRP on that Anderson dot, it's like you're in charge of sales there.
could use some input if anyone wants to offer their thoughts. Looking to build an sbr in 12.5" with suppressor. Kind of want to do a Kino style build which incoporates a midlength handguard.
so questions:
1) Adjustable gas block? Probably want this since supressed sbr.
2) Carbine or midlength? There are a few middy options and some advantages to this but for 12.5" I imagine carbine makes more sense.
>kino style
?
Mid length is good to 13.7 ish
12.5" is solidly in carbine gas territory
Adjustable gas depends on how much backpressure your can induces
No, it is like it is made in the same factor as all the other $100-$200 chink 1x prisms and red dots that are branded and then sold stateside.
Night vision compatible. But avoid Eotech. Out of all the optics on that list the Eotech is arguably the worst value.
Kino is essentially 12.5" with either midlength gas port and drop in midlenght handguards or 12.5" with carbine gas port, dummy midlength block or fsb to hold handguard cap and then midlenght handguards.
Sort of like a short barreled version of a dissipator. The objective being a short barreled rifle with a midlength grip area.
Is there a way to figure out whether I will need the adjustable block ahead of time? The problem I see is that if I need adjustable on a 12.5" carbine gas port barrel AND I want midlength grip area then my gas block will be covered by the handguard/rail meaning it would have to be removed in order to manipulate the adjustable block.
I see three workarounds
1) I dont need an adjustable gas block so access is a non issue
2) I get a midlength 12.5" so the block is exposed but this gas system is sub optimal for this barrel length (but hey since suppresser rifles tend to be overgassed maybe the longer dwell time of a midlength gas system in 12.5" will balance out?)
3) I get a rail with a cutout for and FSB at carbine length and then use the cut out to access the adjustable block.
>Wanting all these fancy rifles
Are you preparing for something?
Get a an adjustable bolt carrier

A super fun weekend!
>short barrel rifle with midlength grip area
You can get this by using a long free float rail. Don't let aesthetics dictate the build too much. Fixed front sight posts are stupid. No reason to occlude your FOV and reduce mounting space up front. Just get a quality 12.5" barrel, whether it be mid gas or carbine gas. If it is a quality barrel, the port will be a good size. Get the right length gas tube, and you're likely good to go with any quality non adjustable gas block. The adjustable gas block might be nice to have to fine tune reliability and minimize gas to the face when running suppressed. I've been using Superlative Arms adjustable gas blocks on my suppressed AR10 DMR and my suppressed 11.5" 5.56, and they are useful to an extent, however they also rob you of a degree of peace of mind. Jut something to consider.
I miss this set up
...he whispered to himself, as he stared at an old photograph of his former self, when he was still able to see his own penis.
Most of these people just like to larp in the woods as operators on the weekends, some just don't like collecting junk that breaks, and others enjoy the sense of superiority over the poor.
Use a drop in two piece handguard with a carbine length gas system.
I'm preparing to throw horns
Where to cop fixed carry handle assembled upper for Irene build?
Look for a c7 upper and m4 profile barrel for correct build.
I’m building an SBR, and I’m not sure which pistol grip I want to use. I’m leaning toward BCM Gunfighter since I’d like to try the reduced angle, and I already like their short VFG.
I am not completely opposed but it still blocks access to gas block if I need an adjustable and doing drop ins at least makes it easier to get at. Dummy block would have been railed not an FSB so I'd put a flip sight on it.
If the drop in is carbine I lose the grip surface I want. I can do carbine gas with a midlength as stated but then some issues arise.
The Kag backstop thing they offer is nice. I tend to like the magpul K2+. Similar change in angle.
ATF is coming boi
Use a drop in MID LENGTH handguard, F marked dummy front sight and put an adjustable carbine length gas system under the handguard. That way if you need to adjust the gas system you can just pop off the handguard.
the KAG is nice, so far its been my favorite
Looking good friendo
Thats generally the plan atm (though id do a railed gb from Midwest as my dummy) but hopefully I can get away without needing an adjustable gas block. Then its even easier. Seems like there isnt a consensus other than if you have issues its the easiest way to address them.
I know the kag was obviously designed with their KMR/MCMR handguards in mind but it fits so well its kind of amazing.
has been great so far, if youre thinking if picking one up go for it, you wont regret it.
My friend just cleared out a 600 yard range at his house. What scope would help me use some of that on a 16" ar. Preferably under a thousand dollars
what's the tiniest, most low profile hand stop type thing that is actually considered and marketted as a VFG
probably a KAG
How about good to go reflex sights? Anything else worth considering than HS 510c?
Strictly needs to be considered a Vertical Foregrip, KAG literally mean Kinesthetic ANGLED Grip
maybe the bcm stubby grip.
Redpill me on the 11.5" length
It's got that swell dwell time, my leet friend.
Is the difference from 10.5 really that big of a deal? I'm thinking of getting a cheap PSA 10.5 pistol as a first AR
Not really no. Will this be your first rifle caliber firearm? What's your thought process for a 10.5 for your first AR?
Yes to first rifle. For one, I can get a longer barrel and convert to a rifle legally anytime I want, or keep as a pistol if I like it. Two, easy to handle for household defense. Third I like to go hiking with guns so the lower weight would be nice.
The best barrel length
Not the original replier, but yeah that all sounds good to me
12.5 > 11.5
This is inarguable.
fuck Im digging this
Are the shorter barrels super loud in your experience?
I think this is just going to keep escalating
on the topic of pistol grips... whats good sized grip for someone with larger lands? the standard a2 grip feels tiny in my hands. Ive been looking at the ERGO Suregrip AT, or the deluxe version, just haven't handled one personally.
hahaha
I've never tried the KAG. I actually use their stubby VFG on my Vepr, and it really helps with balancing out all the excess weight. I also use the BCM Gunfighter stock on another AK. lol
Most people say jumping from 10.5 to 11.5 or 12.5 is worth it for the decreased pressure and resultant wear.
well at psa prices I can just buy another when it wears out
Not saying everyone has to buy gucci, but I wonder how much money you would actually save shooting out a PSA rifle and buying a new one vs buying something like BCM and shooting it out? If the PSA shits itself after 10k rounds, but the BCM lasts to 30k rounds, are you really saving any money? Or if going from 10.5 to 11.5 makes the difference between wearing out the BCG and barrel vs only wearing out the barrel, is it worth it?
Are you ever actually going to shoot 30K rounds? If you can afford to shoot $10K in ammo do you really care about the cost of replacing barrels?
you're absolutely correct but realistically like said I'm probably not going to shoot 10k rounds in any reasonable length of time
even with the high pressures on a 10.5 itll be damn hard and expensive to wear it out, unless your mag dumping thousands of rounds in one sitting, it will hold up fine, even competitor shooters have a hard time wearing out a barrel
that color scheme. i guarantee this dork also has a boba fett helmet to match
my fsb is canted to the right. i took some material off the indexing notch on the driver side. the feed ramps still line up. i shimmed the index pin with a coke can to keep the barrel from rotating
am i asking for trouble?
I'll be honest, I don't even shoot that often, but I usually buy firearms with the mindset that I might pass them down to my kids someday if I ever have any. Cheap guns serve a purpose, but I'd trust a $1k rifle to last decades vs a $500 rifle. Also, I wouldn't bring a $500 rifle to an $800 class, if that's your intention.
was it a psa? just send it back to get it fixed. I appreciate that the owner of psa wants to pump out so many ars that an awb will be obsolete but thate fact that the niggers they employ run identity and credit card theft has kept me from buying anything from them, buddy but an upper from psa a few days later he got a $150 charge for finishline and a $350 charge from ticketmaster for r kelly concert tickets.
TA44 on a 10.5" AR. Yes or no?
30k rounds of Federal M193 is $8k at this moment. For Wolf steel cased .223, it's about $5.7k. That's not really unheard of for some people to shoot over the course of a few years.
No!
kek my credit card got stolen several years ago after AIM Surplus got hacked. They tried to use it at a 7-Eleven in New York.
not psa
its not something i can rma
what do you call this device again?
>even with the high pressures on a 10.5 itll be damn hard and expensive to wear it out, unless your mag dumping thousands of rounds in one sitting
Keep in mind that a lot of people try to go as short as possible because they want to put a can on front, which makes the backpressure that much worse.
unjammer?
unjamming pole
unstucking stick
pipe plower
Thoughts on the Caracal 816? It's a little over half the price of an HK MR556 and about the same price as an LWRC piston rifle or an old Daewoo K2 off Gunbroker.
barrel bullet banger
ramming rod
No barrel is going to last more than 15k rounds.
someone shooting that much better have at least 3 ARs
just buy a few rifles and rotate them, they should last and be in great shape if properly maintained to pass down to your kids. im still shooting the 10/22 my grandfather bought my dad in the early 70's, that rifle has countless numers of rounds and still runs like a top, will pass it down to my kid as well.
PSA is notorious for credit card fraud, its mostly done by the employees
did you build it yourself im sure any company would give you an rma for it.
bullet rooter
agreed but unless you have a full freedom lower, you should be fine.
Fixed bore snake
>not an erect bore snake
kinda acog is that
Are you fucking retarded? LMT was the FAL business for a long time
I bought a lucid HD7 gen 3 for 60 buckeroos
Not him, but I remember the shitstorm that happened when DSA started making their own FAL receivers vs using the LMT receivers. MAC released a "preban vs postban" FAL video where the new DSA rifle completely shit itself compared to the original FN.
The hand load unfucker.
Posting again in correct thread
Best colt mag 9mm lower? I tried pic related, and the design feels fundamentally flawed. Two puny set screws to keep the block from shifting upwards.
You would hope, but it doesn't. The mag block shifts upward about 2mm which is enough for the mag catch to be out of alignment.
neat, i've never heard of this one. Theirs a few up on the bay so maybe I'll snag one
You have the BFH CHF ELW 14.5" right? I'm thinking about buying that upper.
I'll sell you my Trijicon Accupower 3-9x40mm Mil dot red on an ADM Recon mount for $550. [email protected]
It is in picture related.
Completely false.
