Most pleasantly surprised you've been with a guns purchase, and the most surprisingly disappointed you've been.
Pic related for former. Thoroughly expected it to be good, but not to like it as much as my USP or CZ, especially since I got it for cheap. Has become my favorite 9mm. RIA 1911 for disappointment. Fuck that thing.
Wow I'm glad I just bought a cheap surplus 92S if only so that it doesn't have those obnoxious warnings plastered all over the gun. Those look terrible.
Elijah Hernandez
>fires without magazine That warning is there exclusively for the ladyman reported from polygon who didn't know chambered rounds were a thing and scared himself with the VR rifle
Jason Collins
Part of the reason I got a M9, I hope the M9A3 doesn't have that bullshit all over it
Nathan Murphy
M&P 15-22
Pleasantly surprised by how much fun it is to shoot and how effective it is at winning the affection of people who are initially frightened by the appearance of AR15's
The smartest thing a gun lover can do is introduce anti-fun people to shooting via the 15-22
Looks scary, feels scary to hold... Shoots with the force of a modest burp and sounds as loud as a nailgun and guaranteed bullseye for all

Can't think of any time I've been that pleasantly surprised, but my first time shooting an AR, and first time holding an m1 garand were wildly disappointing. M1 garands are so much fatter than I anticipated
Joseph Rogers
>Most/least favorite, not entire collection What was disappointing about the Glock 19
William Ward
Might have gotten it AFTER the Stock II. If you shot a "match grade" pistol like that, then went to a stock glock, you'd be disappointed too. Hell, that's actually what's stopping me from getting a G19 because while my PPQ isn't "match grade" , holy shit is it comfy to shoot, and I'd just be going "Hmm, this is nice and all, but muh PPQ..."
Charles Sanders
15-22 makes your real AR feel heavy though

Shooting a 92FS cured me of my Sigfaggotry

>Most pleasantly surprised you've been with a guns purchase This is a tricky question to answer because it implies I'd buy a gun knowing I'd be displeased with it.
Only real example I can think is a Taurus TCP, 4-5 years ago. Knowing the issues that Taurus guns often have but thinking this gun might be an exception, I was pleased by the trigger, but annoyed that the gun choked on FMJ's.
Recently, I bought a Beretta PX4 Compact 9mm and, knowing that I wouldn't like the safety levers, I was pleased with the amount of recoil while shooting and the nice trigger. However, handling the gun at the range makes me hate the safety levers even more. They're really rough on your fingers even when just racking the slide. Also, since I'm left eye dominant but I shoot all guns with my right eye (meaning I have to squint my left eye) I really dislike the fact that Beretta uses a "combat hold" for their iron sights, which to me means not being able to see the target while I'm shooting it.
>and the most surprisingly disappointed you've been. FN PS90. It's not practical at all. The iron sights suck, the provisions for mounting an optic suck, and it's ammo sensitive, so you're stuck with FN's expensive ammo.
I might have to mention my Beretta APX here. I really, really want to like it, but the trigger is just a real bitch to get used to. I love the ergonomics, I love how it's made, how it looks, I love the lightness of the recoil. I like certain aspects of the trigger pull...For example, the short pretravel and the seemingly crisp break. However, the break which seems so crisp when dry firing it is actually a little bit hard to anticipate on the range. I have fired this alongside my Glock 23 several times now and at 7 yards I'll shoot a 1.5-inch group with the Glock (full disclosure, I might have 1 or 2 flyers in 13 shots), but with the APX, I struggle to keep a grouping under 6". I'm sure I can master the trigger eventually, but it has been surprisingly difficult.
Levi Gray
Bought a 9.5" super redhawk for pure meme value and it was on sale at the LGS for a good price. Wound up being my favorite gun to shoot by far.
Nathan Gonzalez
>pleasant surprise Ts995 hipoint. Always a blast at the range, except it bites my chin hair
>dissapointment P-83. Rarely gets used, shit safety. But i still like it even though I rarely buy ammo for it, and I had been looking for a then unobtanium cz82. Dissapointment is a VERY strong word.
Jayden Taylor
>pleasantly surprised Turkshit pump action SBS >surprisingly disappointed Henry Big Boy
Julian Morgan
What stamped and what milled AKs?
Daniel Fisher
Most pleasantly surprised.
I thought I was just getting a poor man's Ruger Mark 3, not something that BTFOs the Ruger in every possible way except aesthetics.
Beretta ARX100. Internet says it’s a heavy, bulky, inaccurate, gas-ey, unergonomic piece of crap. It’s light, slim, decently accurate (2 moa), very ergonomic except for the stock length.
>Surprised at how disappointing it is
HK P2000 with LEM. Even with the lem the trigger kinda sucks and I’d rather have a normal DA/SA with decock fo carry. It just doesn’t do anything great for how much is cost. When I still had it kept thinking $800 for this?
Lucas Rivera
M9 masterrace.
Dissapointment is easy, my old 10/22. It was an unreliable, inaccurate hunk of shit out of the box, and it still couldn't keep up with my CZ after I rebuilt it with reasonable-person upgrades (GM barrel, etc). Angrily sold, complete waste of time and money.
Pleasantly pleased is my stainless Model 60, which I picked up used (Huntsville rollmark, definitely a Cerberus gun). I had to float the barrel to address some pretty obvious stringing but once I did it started turning in nasty groups with standard velocity. Like, right behind my CZ. Slapped some DIP parts on it, installed some sling studs, and yup now it's a favorite.
Another good one would be my Glock 26. I expected it to have about as much personality as a Soviet housing project, but it grew on me pretty fast.
Leo Watson
Ditch the toy, get a Glock.
Levi Ward
what's wrong with the RIA?
I'm glad you like your pistola italiano though
Thomas Powell
>not entire collection...
user, I filled out my 150th 4473 on monday.
>why is glock 19 disappoint? Its shit tier. Its pooly made, rattles, and just doesnt feel quality in any way. The trigger is garbage, as are the sights. Glock is a better molded hi point.
Charles Jones
>no rail or sight options >low capacity to size ratio >retarded safety that gets in the way >retarded exposed trigger bar >exposed barrel that lets shit in >still heavier than a P226R
yeah, real bargain, OP.
Benjamin Torres
Congrats on getting a handgun that weighs the same as an AR, user.
Anyway, I love the fuck out of my 10/22.

Pleasantly suprised - Savage 93 17HMR Was cheap, no recoil, and the cheap BSA Sweet 17 scope worked really well out to 300 yards, retardely accurate and effective on varmints Surprisingly Disappointed - SIG Mosquito Cannot fire a whole mag without jamming no matter what ammo (and I e tried EVERYTHING), no factory ‘stendos, spare 10rd mags are retardedly expensive
Ryan Taylor
Hows the rossi 92? Been thinking of picking up one.
Ryder Hall

>pleasantly surprised Picked up a used Howa 1500 Varmint in .223 from an auction for $225. Thing is an absolute laser and looked like it had never been fired. Will consistently throw 3/4 moa 5-shots with my mixed brass progressive press prairie dog loads. Almost wish it had a faster twist barrel so I could see what it'll do beyond 500, but alas it's a 1:12. >most disappointed Bought a R700 Sendero new, it was totally fucked. Remington customer service told me to pound sand and refused to honor their warranty so it sat in the back of the safe until I could fix everything myself.
Blake Turner
>heavy >implying its of great mass
Maybe im just used to a tool belt but I think most handguns are pretty darn light outside of big bore hunting revolvers and Desert Eagles and stuff
Nathan Diaz
Most of Jow Forums can't hold a job, let alone be trusted with tools.
Owen Morgan
its big and clunky, even compared to other metal handguns. why add that extra weight for no reason?
Jeremiah Evans
Big yes, heavy no. With the aluminum frame and open slide it's one of the lightest metal framed fullsize guns, and lighter than most of the poly frame HKs. >still dont like them
Brayden Davis
>Best Beretta 96 I bought that thing for cheap as a police trade in, as a project gun. Shooting it was far more fun than anything I could have anticipated
>Worst Probably Arcus 98dac if I had to pick. I knew it was going to be a shitty Bulgarian copy of the high power, but I couldn't get through 2 mags in a row without some sort of malfunction. Also, that trigger was stupid long. Even the reset in SA was just unreasonable.
Blake Price
Best: cz sp01. Thing is a tank. Bought it used and non functional...turns out all it needed was a new firing pin. Love the beefy guy.
Worst: vepr 16.5 inch barrel .308. Thing missed paper with open sights at 25 yards. Even fixed, tuned and upgraded trigger it shoots 6 inch groups from a bench rest at 100 yards. Ugh.
Caleb Parker
>Vepr...
sounds like a shooter issue instead of a gun issue. Unless the sights are canted or loose or something is terribly wrong, it really sounds like shooter error. my vepr .308 out shoots all of my other AKs.
Ryder Anderson
Ive done 10 years of construction at this point though I'm starting a masters now, big doesnt bother me unless its dead summer, humid, and 90+. its almost comforting, like my Milwaukee impact. Plus it eats up so much recoil. What annoys me is how hard it is to get a Compact model for summer with all the fixins, it's like Beretta makes a baker's dozen a year.
Matthew Rivera
>worst Remington 870 super magnum, 3.5 inch compatible receiver, 26 inch smooth bore barrel 3.5 inch compatible w/ rifled slug barrel. It can kill any game animal in MI with the right ammo. Finish comes off when wiped down, smooth barrel is rusting and is improperly chambered. The slide mechanism feels like its grinding against sandpaper, I should have gotten a mossman.
>best Ultralight ar-15 .22lr upper, 5.5 lbs w/out optic. Has a Gucci geissele trigger and it's a dream to shoot or carry innawoods.
Nathan Brown
>surprised P320 really surprised me on how good it shot >Disappointed USPc was mediocre to me. Maybe I built it up in my head due to the price and USP name.
Jacob Perez
Shooting .22 is fun, but I try to get new shooters to fire at least a 9mm carbine. I feel that if they start with shooting a .22, they would get too used to firing a gun with light recoil, and would think that firing anything bigger would be too much
>>no rail or sight options M9A3 and M9A1 (current production have dovetailed front sights and rails. The 92fs is a legacy production model. >>low capacity to size ratio 17 rounds is pretty good, albeit they are widebois. >>retarded safety that gets in the way I actually love the safety on the 92. It's easy to flick off by sweeping your thumb down at it, same way you would flick off a 1911 safety. >>retarded exposed trigger bar >>exposed barrel that lets shit in These are just design choices that don't actually have disadvantages, they just look different. >>still heavier than a P226R Really? Can't be that much heavier.

Not him, but the majority of them jam badly.
Jose Anderson
They literally ONLY jam when you limp wrist them. I've put somewhere between 800 and 1,000 rounds through mine and it hasn't jammed once. Neither has any other Deagle I've ever fired. If you have baby girl wrists that might be a problem.
Nathaniel Cox
new guy question
What do you mean it can jam if you "limp wrist it"? Grip effects this?
Adrian Peterson
>Desert Eagle Mine is perfect. You sure you’re Eagling right?
>using all caps They jam when limpwristed, but many of them will jam randomly at other times too. Mine would jam with a full magazine, but never with a half-loaded magazine. Very annoying.
>I've paid for 1000 rounds of .50 AE No, you haven't.
>I've fired other Desert Eagles No, you haven't.
>insulting other people's masculinity whom you've never met I can only imagine the penis size deficiency to motivate a male to do this. You sound like an angry woman. Were you raised by your mother?
Must suck being a complete and total poorfag. 1000 rounds of .50AE is $1,300 worth of ammo pre tax. Is that supposed to be a lot of money? The ones that had problems with jamming were made in the early 90s. The Mark XIX Deagles do not have this problem. Must suck to be such a retard that you have to project your poorfaggotry on others.
It's a gas operated handgun, limp wristing the gun can cause malfunctions with the gas system.
Logan Long
Sorry, satan. But I don’t visit Jow Forums
Lincoln Stewart
Calm down.
Juan Harris
I'm not a champion target shooter but it's been tried by 4 separate people, 2 of which shoot high power. The best groups were one of them using remington 150gr at about 4 inches.
Dents the hell out of the brass too.

>Disappointed When my cousin told me he had a nice sawed off but it was a piece of shit bolt-action shotgun someone took a hacksaw to, and still smelled like the basement it was found in
I have one and they are a blast to shoot. No pun intended. I say get one. Feeding it isn't expensive either since .357 mag is much cheaper than .30-30 usually.
Jacob Foster
A Taurus 85 I got for $200. Comfortable grips, and a good shooter.
Juan Gomez
I bought a 92fs first, usp45 second. Much happier with the usp
Brandon Torres
Pleasantly surprised is with my CZ SP01, I was talked into it by the store clerk and I really like how it handles now that I've used it a few times.
Disappointed, I'd honestly have to say my Garand. It's expensive to shoot, hard to zero where I live, and I obsess over keeping it clean and rust free which is a pain.
Adam Young
Pleasantly surprised with my CZ75b. Shoots really well.
Disappointed with my Kar98k, it hasn't given me that expected feeling I've always wanted from my supposed dream gun. Haven't shot it in 3 months, thinking about selling it and buying manga.
Joseph Martin
>Pleased CZ75 >Displeased Kimber 84M Hunter. Will never buy Kimber anything again
Isaiah Phillips
best was a glock, I used to think they were ugly and boring until I shot them. They arent as superb as a nice custom built gun but they really are the best at being good enough
worst was the 92fs, which was so disappointing. I had the position of the slide safety and I wasnt used to an open barrel design and pinched my palm. Im a little more used to it now though
>Oh cool, Ill be just like a detective or private eye in the movies
couldnt hit the side of a barn, got super frustrated and sold it. Favorite was a full sided model 19, once I got properly taught how to shoot a revolver. Im eager to try snubnoses again but im a little nervous
