Too many bait tank threads, let's have a civilized tank thread...
T-34-85 best tank WWII
>tfw American tank line 6.0 to 7.0 sucks balls unless one wishes to hide in a corner and shoot people.
I blame WT and WoT for giving shitters easier access to tank "knowledge" and in turn the desire to make abhorrent threads on here.
I don't quite get why people complain so much about WT, its pretty good in terms of modeling armor and damage, ARMA vehicles are pretty crude in comparison.
Ugh, more WT-tards.
dumb frogposter
>good at modeling armor and damage
>black whole drivers hatch
>apds is garbage and yellows crew
>ATGMs bug into the ground after firing
>ammo racks hardly go up in flames on ((((certain)))) nations. Despite direct hits with HEAT-FS rounds that destroy the ammo outright.
>disappearing shells
>air to ground rockets nerfed quite literally into the ground
No
>air to ground rockets nerfed quite literally into the ground
they're buffed again tho
I haven't seen many problems with tier 8 to 10 vehicles. Driving the T-64B is suffering, its the worst high end MBT most of the time when I use it I will die to a single shot to the upper front plate, it throws its turret every single time as expected for late model T series.
>that cromwell
Never really thought of it as a workhorse
Given the UK's philosophy I think of the Churchill, Valentine and Crusader
You forgot magical russian sloped armor making L7 obsolete.
I'm quite partial to later cold war when it comes to tanks, I'm a sucker for SACLOS
It's a shame the Italians never pull this off.
just reflects real life my dude. Just be glad you don't have to have an entire maintenance corps attached to you in game
M46 gets HEATFS, T34 shoots supersized boolet, m56 is just high speed low drag, 90mm APHE is savage all around
US tanks suck ass stock but actually make you get good. You want to talk about suffering, the m47 and m48s are pure hell.
>hit driver in face with APDS
>he goes yellow
>hits gunner in foot and kills him
wtf gayjoob. main thing i hate is the silver lion gain has been nerfed to hell, even with proomium tonks it takes forever. 2.0-5.7 is where it's at.
This. M46 is even competetive at 10.0. The Heatfs can pen anything in gun mantlet or lower plate and one shot it.
>let's have a civilized tank thread, Jow Forums
M1A1 a shit.
even old T-17s BTFO it. armata would eat it for breakfast. only good nato tank is the lepord. all the rest are T-14 food.
>another highly autistic tank thread
And here we have the perfect example of a vatnik rambling on drunkely. Look at them and laugh
I routinely play speedy tanks like the Skdfs wheelie boy to cap an objective and then immediately hop in the 75mm duck before the fighters come out.
Aiming can be hard but if you git gud you can be a real pain in the ass. If I'm fast I can take out 2-3 early game heavies and if I'm REALLY lucky I'll have some air cover and can troll for the rest of the game unimpeded.
thanks for contributing.
>anime posting
weebs? on my Jow Forums?
>implying only weebs lurk Jow Forums
you must be new here
Where do you think you are?
>its pretty good in terms of modeling armor and damage
Yeah, compared to WoT.
see
>only
no such implication was made. but implying no weebs are on Jow Forums is fucking silly, you fucking silly boy
non-weebs don't belong here, outlander
>being 18+ and watching cartoons
.3
someone's new
you're such a man of culture. please tell us how to be alpha, anonymous poster on the tank thread on Jow Forums
>>air to ground rockets nerfed quite literally into the ground
The HE ones, yeah, use the HEAT rockets.
>weeb talking about culture
please your only exposure to culture is limited by watching anime.
>muh sekrit internet club
>t. burger being grilled in his tinderbox of a tank
get penned by an RPG, joze
I just unlock the BMP-1 and the ATGM is giving me a fist in the ass.
>not playing best wheelieboi as a bush ninja
Womp-womp
now post the one where the M1Ass1 gets BTFO by an old ass T-72.
>livejournal file name
So you are a slav in denial.
Couldn't the M1 could just fire on the towing vehicle to completely immobilize the Armata?
already immobilized by budget cuts
Which one?
Nah, I'm American.
>I'm American.
My condolances
It could be worse...
Isn't it the captured one that was operated by the terrorists and bombed by the Russians?
It was also bombed by the terrorist
>bombed
You mean filled with explosives and blown up?
Never happened.
Let's be fair here: WoT and Wargaming as a company, have given incredible amounts of money to foundations that work on restoring and researching armor. Most people wouldn't even know about establishments like the Tank Museum in Bovington were it not for WG.
Yes, their games have resulted in the spread of certain misinformation regarding tanks, but this is the nature of pretty much every mainstream game. The important part is that they're getting people interested in the topic. Yes, there are going to be people who take the in-game statistics as historically accurate, which is unfortunate. But I would wager that a person like that really doesn't care too much about tanks anyway. The people who really care are the one who are going to go do the little bit of extra research. To Wargaming's credit, outside of the game they've actually been making an effort to educate players and the general public, whether through their funding of museums and restorations, or video series such as Nicholas Moran's "Inside the Chieftain's Hatch"
Now on the other hand, I really have no idea what kind of intellectual philanthropy Gaijin may be involved in, and I have my doubts there's anything legitimate, but at the very least they don't just make up tanks to fill out their game.
Same thing
agree. i run a website on tanks and i've gotten a lot of traffic from game forums. the seed is being planted, and any interest sparked is a good thing i think
>get penned by an RPG
How'd Grozny work out for you guys?
I used to play WoT quite a bit, and more recently started playing more WT. Fair enough, WoT has sorta gone down the shitter in the past year or two, but that's more down to corporate policy than a serious fault in the game mechanics.
Regardless, it's undeniable that the rise of both games has led directly to a rise in public awareness about armored vehicles. Just look at the model market; what were the odds that you could find commercial models of the Tiger I prototypes before WoT came out?
>ctrl f
>no m103
lads, please.
Best tank of the cold war up to the late 70's immo , but point and click fastbois is where the game is at thats why the t64b is bad and why they are adding the t80 to the russian tech.
yep. i've never played either of them, but still think they've done a lot of good for the study
WT can't compare to what War Gaming has put out. Nicolas Moran's lectures alone have done a lot to dissuade a lot of the myth's regarding armor, to say nothing of the series that takes a more detailed look at individual vehicles.
> The important part is that they're getting people interested in the topic.
Video games with armor and aircraft have been out for decades and other media has certainly got a great deal of people interested, however we still deal with myths and inaccuracies that should've gone ago. Simply making people interested isn't enough to actually advance public knowledge on the subject, they may be interested but still be content to repeat the same inaccuracies over and over.
>air to ground rockets nerfed quite literally into the ground
t. butthurt planigger, I bet you bitch about SPAA too
>all this WG dick sucking
what happened to the maus restoration bruv?
bit off more than they could chew i'm sure. bfd
I honestly without a doubt hate the Cromwell, its too boxy has no slopes and wasn't able to block shit at all.
Brits thought sloped armor was a fad until the Centurion.
Surprised they didn't try to make the Sherman boxy, I just usually call the tank by it's good name, the Shitwell.
It was comparable to the Pz IV in protection and was significantly faster.
the cromwell mk.vii had thicker hull armor than the tiger
>i run a website on tanks
What is it called?
sorry user. on here i am also user
That is debatable, depending on weather they were upgraded hulls or not, if they were good for you if they weren't bad for the crew, fact of the matter is, The Brits should've sloped the bitch to at least try to bounce shells
>playing high tier vehicles
pleb, tier 1-3 is peak
got more of that? i love girls humiliating me.
>be bad
>can't aim
>cry and shitpost
git gud
Is WT still worth it today? Stopped playing half a year ago, got some screens aswell.
still good at earlier tier.
I've found that (((certain))) tanks somehow absorb TOW missile's like they have fucking shields. There's great joy in guiding a missile across 2.5km into the ammo of a T-55 and it just fucking takes it like an Irish housewife getting beat by her husband. Then promptly fucks off and kills somebody.
>complain about too many bait tank threads
>While posting a bait tank thread.
Is this meta bait?
While WT has its times with the modeling it falls short due to gameplay aspects, only way to kill a tank is to get a catastrophic kill (aka detonate the ammo) or kill the entire crew, which leads to weird gameplay aspects where it's sensible to empty the ready rack to make your turret be able to tank hits. Engine loss should be a serious concern but in WT it's irrelevant as long as it doesn't catch fire, only things that matter are whether your main gun is disabled and whether you get your ammo blown up
Kubinka leadership and kreml threw a vatnik shitfit because people showed more interest in restoration of a German tank instead of a russian tank. They wrote a long official statement reeking of assblasted buttrage about how they would never allow a nazi tank to be restored as long as there was russian tanks in need of restoration and then cancelled the cooperation with WG on the Maus.
>T-34 driver hatch literally unpenetratable at (((certain))) angles
>T-34's armour is known to shatter from 20mm and 37mm fire IRL
What are those small bulges on the Cromwell?
>That roo
Why do Aussies not play as Brits?
Screws
When everyone was using welds...?
But the T-35 is an iconic tank that symbolizes victory in the great patriotic war!
Yup. That's Bongs for you.
Besides anons, we all know real men play Men of War.
the turret has two layers. the inner one is indeed welded, but the outer armor skin is bolted to it. so in effect it's spaced armor
best on the planet
most brit tanks are shit. I do play a bit of everything, though.
You should try the cromwell but don't stop moving and smoke out everything. Since you are so much faster than most axis tanks hull and turret traverse you can burst into a group of three and they can't touch you. Or take the Cent mk1 out on kursk and just tank shots at long range since german 5.7 can't pen you at range.
Japan is the strongest tank nation and this fact is undeniable
Delet this now floof would be delighted to have any friends to talk about tanks with. she emits an aura of purity that dissolves any impure thoughts and replaces them with a love of armoured vehicles.
