I am purchasing my first gun. I am doing research before I purchase and I cannot choose between a SIG P365 or a Glock Gen 4. whats Jow Forums's opinion? it will be 9mm either way. I only have around $600 to spend. pls suggest better options if you have any
I am purchasing my first gun...
Since it's your first gun, go with the glock. Glocks are idiot-proof.
Whats your body type, how do you dress, whats the weather like where you live, and do you want to carry on your belt or pocket.
Also dont get the P365, P238, or P938. Sig makes SOME good guns, but these are not good.
so go with glock then. is there any better brand of gun in the $600 or under range or would a glock be my best choice?
Answer my questions and Ill help you. Theyre the difference between having a gun you carry everyday and one you only carry sometimes. Try to answer soon though, because im about to shower and grab some food and my cellphone ip is range banned.
Not the SIG.
Check out Styer M9
glock in general is the best all around handgun. theres nothing a glock does horribly wrong.
other guns might have 1 feature thats better than a glock but a the same time have something worse.
a glock does an acceptable job for everything you cant go wrong. depending on what you want their might be a more specialized gun out there more suited for you but but theres a shitload of garbage too. you buy a glock and its fine.
im heavy set, dress in button down shirts. its either warm or cold and I dont plan to carry it around as I dont have a conceal and carry. although I plan to get it eventually. usually just for home protection and range practice.
Get a glock.
I got no clue what you wanna do with it but glocks are good to start with and no one here will make fun of you for owning one.
For 600 get the glizzy with the aftermarket stendo and you’re good everywhere.
For home defense these are some good guns to look at for your price range
>Glock 17/19
>Beretta 92fs/M9
>HK P30
>M&P9 M2.0
>Ruger GP100
These are just the ones I have experience with. Also a Glock 26 with a full size magazine will serve you well for HD and for carry later with a flush fit magazine. Good luck and dont forget to check the gun store aggregators gunwatcher.com and gun.deals for the best prices
I have a Steyr, bought it on recommendation from Jow Forums and it is objectively a good gun, but I dislike it. My accuracy with this pistol is horrendous, despite my proficiency with other pistols. The sights do NOT jive with me, and the trigger is sub-par. It's very well balanced and well built, but it isn't a "perfect fit for all sizes" like, say, the Makarov is.
Wrong.
What did i say that was wrong?
Why not just get a highpoint then. Does everything a glock does at 1/5 the price
There is nothing wrong with the P238 or P938. they are great CC guns. Sure it might not be your first purchase but i would not say they are 'not good'
Except take factory mags above 10 rounds
Ironically enough a P938 was my first purchase. It had FTEs/FTFs, light primer strikes with quality ammo (federal/American Eagle), and the magazine would drop when I would shoot it. These problems persisted no mattee who shot it. My P229 was great, but my friend's P229 frame cracked in under 2k rounds.
Also I owned the gun it was derived from, the Colt Mustang. That also had a litany of issues, but not as many as the P938.
Glocks are certainly not idiot proof, but you should definitely buy a Glock 19 over a Sig365
Did you send it in?
Sounds like you got a lemon
First off, the Sig P365 is a bad choice for a first handgun. Subcompacts are hard to learn on. Compact and full-size guns are the way to go for a first gun.
Second, there are better choices available now than the Glock 17/19.
M&P 2.0, CZ P-10c, CZ P-07/P-09, Sig 320, Steyr M9, Walther PPQ, Beretta 92, Beretta Storm, etc are equally reliable, and all of them are a better value out of the box.
That isn't to say Glocks suck. They're great guns, but they're no longer head and tails above their competition, and have in fact fallen behind in some respects.
Look into the IWI Jericho, modeled after the cz-75/p01. Almost half the price of a Glock or Sig. I carry one in .40 everyday.
Yep sent it in, didnt bother trying it since i sold it at a pawn store for almost what i paid right after
Get the glock. The p365 is a small gun the glock 19 will fit your hand better since your a bigger guy.
Glock just bought one last week and i love it. Comes with 3 15 round mags and some other shit looks and feels nice shoots bullets cant go wrong i paid 500 for mine with the gucci nightsights it woulda been 450 stock
The Sigs have been having some issues. Real shame, the 365 was an awesome concept. Try to get the serial number before you buy it and see if it's a recent run.
Glock brand Glock won't give you any problems but they are a bit boring, and the ergonomics might feel like shit at first.
You'll love both, just don't be heart broken if the 365 needs to go back for some repairs.
Are you looking for a year round carry cun? Range gun? Home defense?
c'mon user, we can't help you if you won't help you
Glocks don't even have a safety they suck.
I don't even know where ypu get your information. I have a P938 as my carry piece and it's been nothing but reliable after hundreds of rounds. Fit and finish is superb, and controls are tactile, accessible, and responsive. My foreman has the P365 and says similar things about it. You're full of shit.
Don't pay attention to faggots user, they are desperate for the (You)s
I guess. I'm guilty of shitting on Glocks, though. I've never even fired one. Have held one though and they do feel "okay". Had a dream I bought one and put a whole mag through one bullet hole. Kinda makes me wonder of my next handgun should be a Glock 17 instead of a P320.
You said that Sig makes SOME good guns, when the reality is that everything they produce is shit.
let em flow sweetie
Name a company that has had more recalls and canceled products in the past five years.
Glock
I kinda want to fuck a sig. They look pretty good
that's it pumpkin
>Sig has actually hired shills to defend their shitty company on Jow Forums rather than improving basic quality control
Another guy here looking to piggy back on this thread, would the Sig P320 be a good starting handgun? I've been trying to decide between that and the HK P30L. I'm a big guy like OP and I live in Missouri which means the weather fluctuates all the time. Thanks.
>Glock has actually hired nigs to attack sig and then say they dindu nuffin
Yeah it's a top tier polymer framed striker fired handgun. Thats the only reason it gets so much hate because the Glocktards see it as a threat
>anyone who points out that Sig makes defective products is a paid Glock shill
Why do you tards trot out this line of reasoning every time?
Because it's true. I've seen it with my own eyes. Glock bois get sweaty and nervous when they hear "sig p320", almost like its a sworn enemy who they feel threatened by. Like a king about to be pulled from his throne and executed.
The problems with Sig extend beyond the P320, and have nothing to do with Glock. If I was just a Glock shill, I would have said that Glock was robbed of the MHS contract. I will say that most of the criticisms people have of the G19x are stupid, considering it was designed as a military sidearm rather than a civilian consumer product, let alone something for CCW. I'd still use it for CCW though.

Seriously though the sights are actually really neat, pic related
My own experience with the P938 and its derivative design, the Colt Mustang. Atleast it was pretty though
Hi point. Seriously, get a shittier gun then upgrade and find they are all trash.
Taurus pt111 g2c. Solid win on Taurus branding.
Now you can buy lots-o-ammo or maybe even a hi-point 9mm carbine. sweeet.
Hi points arent as shitty as a Taurus tho
Can anyone give specifics on WHY the P365 is no good? I just started reading about it and the idea of a small 10+1 is pretty neat. I CC an LC9s now but I'd kind of like to give the Sig a try. Why all the hate on it? I've been abroad a while so I'm kind of out of gun news.
striker pin smearing and breaking on the earlier models, and some instances of dead triggers. I'm not sure if it has all been worked out yet, but there have been revisions to mitigate the issues. I am still waiting to see if they get it down pat though, and would advise you to do the same. The form and mag cap is just what I am looking for though.
You have made the mistake of mentioning Sig or Glock and triggered all the noguns memers. If you only have $600 then buy a used Glock. Remember that you have to buy ammo and a holster.
It's good to go these days, shop I work at has sold a ton and no one has come back with complaints(and believe me customers let you know when they have issues). Mine has about 700 rounds through it, it's a great gun.
