well, my patella went out of track - didn't require surgery, but, definitely gave me elephant man legs for a while.

I literally walked into a jobsite and asked to speak to whoever was in charge and told him I wanted to be a Superintendent. I did have some past experience running heavy equipment and could read civil plans, so that got me in.
If you have no experience or education, try to walk on and become a laborer or carpenter and try to work your way up and become a leadman and learn to read plans, then become an assistant superintendent. Be very vocal that you are motivated and want to advance. The other Avenue is go to a construction science program at a college and try to get into a good internship program.

Literally just stop eating sugar and processed foods.

Lift weights, just do good compound exercises. Barbell squats, deadlfts, rows, bench press. Look up proper form and then start with just the bar so you learn proper form.

Start running. Running is free and there's no gimmicks. Just learn proper form. Breathing is something you have to work out. Couch to 5k is not a meme program and it works very well. I personally was forced into running (military) i had to run 3 days a week for 30 minutes at a time. You weren't allowed to stop moving. No walking either.

Jow Forums has a pastebin in their sticky with everything you need to succeed. Good luck tubby. Hard work fixes obesity, not complaining about it or feeling sorry for yourself.

Oh, one other thing I forgot to mention is certifications. You can get an assload of spiffy looking certifications for cheap online or with minimal time at a local training center, just like how they do online or in-person traffic school
Get a:
OSHA 10 or 30 (like $100)
CPR/AED/First aid (like $20)
Forklift operator card (like $30)
Trench excavation safety (like $30)
Fall protection training (like $30)
You can get all those online in a few days
Some are a little more hands on, but really good to have, like:
Scaffolding competent person
Rigger/Signal Person training
Just having a pocket full of certs will immediately place you head and shoulders above the rest.

Office people are a dime a dozen, and have a certain wall they will hit with salary
Experienced Field Superintendants are in high demand, and make significantly more money.
I walked on with zero General Contractor experience 4 years ago and they started me as an assistant superintendent at $67K/year
4 years later, I’m a full Superintendent, and my total compensation is just over $120k/year plus bonuses and 401K profit sharing, which will be another $18K or so this year.
Mind you I have zero higher education, (and, therefore, zero college debt), and have half a dozen standing job offers for other GC’s should I ever need a change of scenery.

What experience did you have that afforded you the ability to go in and request that kind of position? All my buddy's who have gradated already in construction management tell similar stories to yours, having multiple offers from all over the country before they even graduate.

Not him, but it is probably because there is a growing shortage in a lot of fields like construction, both for the guys doing the heavy lifting and the guys managing them. Construction is far from being alone in that regard though.

My dad worked in construction doing dirt work. I helped him when I was a kid before joining the army.
I did get all the bs online courses certificates I mentioned above which was the main thing that got my foot in the door. Seriously. Just spend a weekend and $300 getting online construction/safety certificates.
I was also honest about what I knew and could do, and I made it clear I was eager to learn and advance my career.

For realz, I did this back inna day and got great results. The website is gone, but the videos and descriptions are all you need. Just needed a towel, yoga ball, some bands, door pull-up bar and maybe an ab wheel.
