Hell yeah man, post away
I had some pics of old German WWII letters that a few buddies of mine found in the library at our college
I posted them on Jow Forums for help translating, basically just the guy writing his wife saying don’t forget to feed the chickens while I’m gone and that he’d be home and the war would be won before Christmas (press F)

This stuff is super cool to me so definitely post what you’ve got

you can look up images on cursive letters. as long as it isn't russian cursive (near bullshit levels of differences to where my mother wondered why even have cursive)..it's okay

also, op, im saving these pics as this is some cool stuff. mother's grandfather or grand uncle fought in the great war, died in WWII with the resistance.

Consider getting them digitalized and the text transcribed for better legibility. Also, for old books, the pages and spine could be very vulnerable especially since the glue gets so dry, although this one seems to just be stapled, that's great for scanning isnce you can easily take them out, scan the sheets and carefully manually (not with a stapler) stick a new one back in the holes and bend to hold them together again.
.
Look up book preservation methods, I'm sure there's better ways than just sealing it in a ziploc bag, this is the kind of stuff that would make a great heirloom to be passed down the family. And of course, investigate the units and locations, etc mentioned, once you got the book digitalized you can add those as footnotes so future family readers can know what they all mean. Personally I think it'd be pretty boss to hold the original in one hand, and a modern "cleaned up" printed version with annotations and such in the other hand, you get to read and understand the book fully without disturbing the original as much as possible

this is a good idea OP

>alcohol in provisions
>hot diggity dog.wave
seriously though, this has been nice op. better than the other shit we have

I appreciate the advice and will do that. I actually got all this stuff from my grandmother who had it in her attic. Got a bunch of medals and pictures from her too. Made a shadow box to preserve it. It has his North Dakota national guard badges, NRA sharpshooter and american legions pins, pistol and rifle expert badges. The newspaper clip on the right is a picture of him and a buddy in a forward observation trench in France. Just haven't gotten to preserving the journal yet.

The blue medal on the right in the center is a French legion of merit and in the picture up top he is the guy with the line drawn down to him. Definitely didn't have to worry about going hungry in the trenches haha
