LAV-25 base model has jack shit for protection and only really protects up to mid size rifle cartridges. Same goes for most shit in that role. Russian stuff like the btr-90 and bmp3 are like paper when dealing with something stronger than 7.62x51

.50cal will go right through and so will RPGs, but if they encounter resistance that stiff they will just run, its not their job to fight

My bad I was thinking the BRDM BMP and BTR all had similar thicknesses. Was too lazy to look through the bmp3 specs again to make sure. I just remembered vatniks had some wacky ideas about what actually protects troops.
